PSL TV broadcast thread

Hope we get spider cams, player mics and interactive tv camera selections on certain channels.

PCB missed a big opturunity by not getting Board, Anderson and Root to play in the PSL as it would have been picked up by Sky Sports

MCL & PSL TV Coverage

Does anyone have any information on who will Broadcast the MCL and PSL in the UK

Its typical with Pakistan cricket TV rights, we will probably find out the day before the first match which channel is broadcasting it.

The production rights have been sold to Sunset + Vine which is a brilliant company. They usually air their productions on Channel 5. However, I can't say for certain whether the PSL will air in the UK or not.

Presumably it will go to zee which will probably mean little/no viewership outside of the few Pakistanis that watch the channel and those that know it's on there.

Think SKY NZ have rights to MCL as it was being advertised at Eden Park during the first T20. Not sure about PSL, but seeing no NZ player is involved it seems very unlikely NZ would have bought the rights.

why is it that these negotiations are always last minute with pakistan and are planed well in advance for any other respectable cricketing board?

There were PSL ads at the 2nd T20 in Seddon Park.

Really? Surprise they're interested when they're so reluctant to buy rights for IPL and CPL.

There were ads and commies also talked about PSL during 2nd T20 and how it's a good preparation on UAE wickets just before World T20 in similar conditions.

Who is Showing the PSL in the UK & Europe?

Does anyone have broadcast information on this please? Thanks

Pakistan, Middle East and Asia there is confirmation but no news on UK and Europe. Not sure about US and Canada etc.

ARY (Karachi owner) don't look happy with PCB. PCB first given the tv rights to PTV and Ten Sports but now they have given to Geo Super as well and they are ARY competitors.

How does that work, I thought Ten sports were the official buyers. Doesn't that hurt TEN who have already bought them or did TEN sell to geo super?

Then it's up to PTV and Ten Sports to complain (which they are not doing), not ARY. In fact, it should be beneficiary for ARY that more people are able to watch PSL through all three channels. They are just being blinded by their hate.

According to news PCB sold them to Geo and PTV didn't have any issue with it. But not sure if Ten is ok with it. PTV and Ten usually are partners one of them always buy the rights and sell to the other one so that both can show.

Yes but this is weird have you ever seen it happening before? There are 3 sports channel in pak and all 3 will show the same series? It will probably decrease their revenue.

Don't know but it's good for PSL1 as it will increase viewership. The problem will be next time PCB is selling rights as they won't be able to fetch same price, provided they duped Ten Sports. But it's possible it was pre-agreed.

Yea it's good for viewership but PTV and Geo will also show MCL they got rights for it so this can backfire too a lil bit. PCB also need to find a way to fill those empty seats in UAE that will make it more interesting.

What I understand that initially PCB adv for broadcasting right in Pakistan. However, later it go on strategy to buy air time. PCB buy air time on ptv, geo and ten. Now, the revenue from media commercial will go to PCB. But as usual PCB hiding all financial details. Lack of transparency by Sethi.

Forgive me if it's wrong but that what I heard

I suppose that makes much more sense, that's why the other networks are not protesting. They get their cut regardless.

Broadcasters for Middle East for U19WC/Asia Cup/WT20/PSL

Can someone list down who are the broadcasters for the following series specifically in Middle East.

U19 WC2016
Asia Cup 2016
PSL 2016
WC T20 2016

I am a subscriber of OSN network who would broadcast Asia Cup and WCT20 but not sure about PSL and for sure they are not showing U19 WC.

Tens sports usually shows only bilateral series only for Pakistan and South Africa and Zimbabwe as well but no ICC event.

I wish Geo Super doesn't get it, after all the negative propaganda they did before buying Lahore team

I have OSN as well. They are showing Under 19 world cup, but not sure about PSL. Cant find it anywhere on their schedule. Asia Cup and World T20 will be broadcasted as well as they are already showing ads for it.

PSL on OSN confirmed by faisal mirza ...

In todays ODI i seen IPL mentionen on PSL advertisement
Why would someone do that

Looks like Ten Sports Network. Worst sports network. Sony & Star are too much ahead of Ten network

Even Nimbus at times does better work that Ten .Sony initially inspite of being a movie channel covered various tournaments better except for the awful extra innings with Mandira.

Brian Lara leads cricketing legends set to play in T20 Masters tournament to be streamed live on Sky Sports' digital platforms...

But what is the tournament all about? Who else is playing, and for what teams? And have any ex-England internationals have signed up? Here is all you need to know before the competition kicks off on January 28.

THE FORMAT

This is the inaugural Masters Champions League (MCL), set up by Pakistan-born Zafar Shah, a cricket enthusiast and entrepreneur, so that many of the top cricket legends that had left international cricket prior to the launch of the Twenty20, could compete in the format.

Six teams named after six of the zodiac signs compete against one another once in the tournament to be held in the United Arab Emirates, with the top four in the table after five games progressing through to the semi-finals, and ultimately the final in Dubai on February 13.

PLAYER AUCTION

With a total budget of US $750,000 to spend on players, two 'legend' players were bought by each team for a combined $100,000 before the auction, while six 'icon' players, with a base price set at $100,000, were bid for to be spread out among the six teams.

Former South Africa all-rounder Jacques Kallis attracted the highest bid of $175,000 by the Libra Legends, ex-Australian wicketkeeper Adam Gilchrist was the second most expensive, purchased for $170,000 by the Sagittarius Strikers and Paul Collingwood the most expensive Englishman at $140,000, brought by the Capricorn Commanders.

Ok I've just read up on it, Sky won't be broadcasting any of the MCL matches live on their TV channels but they will be available to stream through sky digital platforms.

There goes me realistically watching any matches then :afaq.

The MCL should be broadcast on the radio and the updates sent by Telefax with the commentators starting each sentence with Humaray Zamaane Mai.

Sky have absolutely none of the matches on their schedules and haven't mentioned it once on any live broadcasts as you would expect them to, you got a source for this?

It was on twitter go to mcl2020 twitter account you will find it

I guess it wont be on tv than
