PTI holding the parliament as hostage by not agreeing to hold the vote of no-confidence

This is almost a script for a Hollywood political thriller. I just hope and pray some one like Kabir Khan or Akshay Kumar don’t get to it first.

I think Imran Khan has put some conditions prior to the NCM vote agreement. Early elections and probably one of them is Shahbaz should not be made PM.

Imran Khan and PTI are criminals as per Pakistani Constitution too. They willfully violated the Constitution.

IK is in similar situation as Indira Gandhi was in 1977. His followers he gets the opportunity to roar back to power like Indira did in 1980 in India. You need to have patience and have faith in your assessment of the incompetence of the opposition.

By bringing disrepute to the constitution and a fledgling democracy?

He had been in power for 3.5 years. He also had the army's support for most of it. He could have used the right channels to punish as he did with Nawaz sharif.

Yeah, as I have always said. Had he not been up to these antics over the last week, he would have been back in power next year. See the opposition implode, and sweep the next elections. his actions now mean he might have many court cases.

you cant claim to be defender of the Constitution and democracy by violating basic principles of law. He might have been a good leader, but from what he has done in the last month, he is not a leader of a democracy by any stretch of imagination.
Now, he will face treason charges and it will be actually as per the law of Pakistan and would be convicted as such. He has dug his own grave here.

I still dont get it, why was he ever so afraid of losing power? In any democracy coalition Govts fall all the time. Japan had like 13 Prime Ministers in 10 years, India saw so many govt. collapses over 1980s and 1990s. All IK has shown is that he was purely power hungry,

Pakistan Constitution is funny in this regard, Parliament is empowered to level and adjudicate on treason charges under article 6 with which IK will be charged now
 
Based on my observation most of the Pakistani Journalist are posting against to IK.
Why are they hating on Imran?

A constitution that has been smashed to pieces by horse trading, A constitution that has been binned by the SC in its decision and courts opening at 12 am for their pay masters. Its a battle PK has to have against a corrupt elite, Kaptaan will lead it.
 
The faster the elections happen the better for Imran Khan. Currently he has popularity and also sympathy of the swing voter.

Yes which is why the oppisition does not want elections right now and he wants them asap.

I feel IK made a big mistake. He should have cut petrol and electric prices significantly before leaving. Basically force the opposition to raise it, and then accuse them of petrol bomb.

Dawn reports facts. Its a proper news paper and their editorial reports actual proper things that are happening in the country.

People dont like the facts they post especially the editorial part.

The NCM was reported by them 10-12 months ago. People think this is something that conspired in recent weeks which is not true. I have been reading dawn for the last 2 years and NCM was going on for a long time.

Putting him in jail will only increase his popularity. Pakistan is a country where a dead man (Bhutto) has been winning elections from his grave for 40 years.

Imran khans govt bought in laws that censured news, and GEO were against this decision. Alot of things were not being reported or were censured aswell.

These were not even bills but ordinances that were bulldozed by the president.

Indian Judiciary had gradually gained power since Basic Structure doctrine and the emergency disaster by Indira Gandhi. Infact, Indian judiciary is the most powerful judiciary in the world, within their respective countries

And from all the positives, we are now unable to reform our judiciary, if you know about how it voided National Judicial Appointment Commission despite passing with super majority and ratified by all states.

Horse trading had no final impact on the numbers. In any case horse trading is illegal, so the result could have easily been turned around in court later.

As for court opening at 12, it was simply because of IKs coup and use unconstitutional means. Had IK let the NCM happen as expected, Supreme Court would not have come into this.

IK has become power hungry. That's the end of it. he is no messiah. just another corrupt and power hungry politician. you are suffering from the Brexit syndrome too. You know its wrong but will not accept as you have way too much invested in the dummy you've been sold.

That will happen anyway. The prices will rise and PDM will say it's because of the previous government. Rinse/repeat.

His hunger is driven by the desire to rid Pakistan of the likes of the parasitic influence of Sharifs and Bhuttos.

If they really charge him for treason, I am afraid a couple of years of jail will be it.

The problem then will be how will the remaining leadership handle the responsibility. If they are as bad as the other politicians, they will run PTI into the ground like PPP and PML.

How can this be anything but an opinion? People dont like the far left editorials of Dawn, that's mainly it. Occasionally they have a misleading headline as well, but normally outside of their editorials people don't have an issue with them
 
Lessons learnt for PTI. They need to improve their governance and politics if they are in power again ever.

The party needs to fix their internal agreements as well and create a politics culture as Kashif Abbasi beautifully just said on ARY. Appointing Buzdar for Punjab was shambles, and one of the reasons for this day today. Can't leave such a large vote bank headless.

Well then they would have to raise it more. I saw on ARY one of the analyst was saying the petrol price should really be 200. So right now its 150 IK should have cut it to 120 before leaving.

Vajpayee was one hell of a politician and human being. I was on the other side, but have utmost respect for him.

Modi on the other hand.....

Well, the best I can say for Modi is at least he is no Pappu. And I hold Pappu responsible for allowing BJP to have so much power.

That is true. And I have a feeling they will. A little work and they can truly be a force. This time they might not even need electables. PTI is the most tech savvy party in the country. Their online presence dwarfs everyone else and they have made sure that everyone saw their narrative of what happened.

They definitely don't need electable's in places like Karachi. people like Amir Liaqat are not really brining in any votes.
