ISLAMABAD: Pakistan will consider all available options to retaliate for the Indian government’s decision to withdraw Most Favo*ured Nation status, Razak Dawood, the prime minister’s adviser on commerce, told the media on Friday.

The response came from the adviser while giving briefing to media at the office of board of investment on the two-day visit of Saudi Crown Prince and high level business delegations.

Mr Dawood went on to say that Pakistan might take unilateral measures against India or revoke concessions under the South Asia preferential trade agreement (Sapta) and might take up the issue in the Geneva-based World Trade Organisation.

New Delhi withdrew the MFN status to Islamabad, which it granted in 1995, on Thursday after the attack on Indian forces in Pulwama.

The grant of this status means that a country will treat all WTO member states equally in matters of tariffs on imports.

Pakistan may revoke concessions under the South Asia preferential trade agreement

New Delhi had made a similar attempt in 2016 following an attack on its forces at Uri, in India-held Kashmir.

Instead of withdrawing the MFN status, Indian government imposed ban on Pakistani actors working in Bollywood.

An official of the commerce ministry told Dawn that Pakistan might include more items in the negative list, a list of items not importable from India.

In March 2012, Islamabad placed 1,209 items on the negative list and opened up rest of the products for trade with India. Before that decision, Pakistan used to trade with India only in 1963 items. “We may increase the number of items in the negative list to restrict trade with India,” the official said.

On a bilateral basis, the official said, additional tariffs might be imposed on Indian-origin products or trade might be restricted at the Wagah border.

The official said Pakistan might also consider withdrawing all concessions offered to India under the Safta arrangement. At the multilateral level, Pakistan might take up the issue at the WTO, the official said, adding that nothing had been finalised so far.

Pakistan’s exports to India stood at $288.134 million in 2004-05 and reached $350m in 2016-17 in the wake of liberalisation of the trade regime with India. Indian exports to Pakistan were $547.458m in 2004-05 and shot up to $2 billion in 2016-17.

The unilateral trade liberalisation in goods and services, after resumption of the composite dialogue in 2004, benefited India whereas Pakistan’s exports stagnated.

The tripling of exports to Pakistan is despite the fact that Islamabad has placed 1,209 products on the negative list.

But the official said the Indian government’s decision to withdraw MFN status would have negligible impact on Pakistan as the current regime suited India more.

Although there exists no negative list for Pakistani products in India, non-tariff barriers (NTBs) are used to limit access of Pakistani products to the Indian market. It was because of these lop-sides benefits which compelled the Indian government to reconsider withdrawal of MFN status to Pakistan in 2016.

In 2011, Pakistan reiterated its intention to transition from the positive list import regime — only 1963 items were importable from India — to a negative list regime and subsequently move toward full normalisation of trade relations by complete elimination of the negative list.

The PPP and PML-N governments took several steps to liberalise the trade regime with India on a unilateral basis. The PML-N had even offered several proposals to take trade relations to the “next higher” level to exploit its full potential.

The World Bank, in a recent report, said trade between Pakistan and India was valued at a little over $2 billion, but it could go as high as $37bn.

The current trade between the two countries is much below its full potential.

The potential could be harnessed only if both countries agreed to tear down artificial barriers.

India’s major exports to this country include skimmed milk, vegetables, chemicals and tyres. Pakistan’s major exports to India include dry dates, gypsum, cement, chemicals, petroleum and oils obtained from bituminous minerals.

Pakistan and India currently use three stations for trade — trade across LoC, the Wagah border and Port Qasim, Karachi.

The Foreign Office on Friday summoned Indian Acting Deputy High Commissioner Gaurav Ahluwalia to protest his country's "baseless allegations" against Pakistan in the aftermath of an attack on Indian security forces in occupied Kashmir, Radio Pakistan reported.

Indian Finance Minister Arun Jaitley had earlier in the day alleged that there is "incontrovertible evidence" of Pakistan "having a direct hand in this gruesome terrorist incident", in which 44 Indian paramilitary soldiers were killed.

Ahluwalia, who was called to the FO by the additional secretary (Asia Pacific) of the foreign ministry, was handed a protest note over the allegations levelled by Indian officials against Pakistan.

"Pakistan rejects Indian government's allegations of intrusion," an FO official told reporters, adding that Pakistan condemns attacks in the occupied valley.

Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi, who is currently on a visit to Germany, also asked India to refrain from levelling "unfounded allegations" against Pakistan, Radio Pakistan reported.

"Since day one we have been desirous of good relations with all our neighbours, including India," he was quoted as saying.

Following Thursday's attack, Islamabad had strongly rejected any insinuation that sought to link the attack to Pakistan without investigations.

But India today announced the withdrawal of Most Favoured Nation status for Pakistan and decided to initiate steps to ensure diplomatic isolation of Islamabad.

Pakistan's High Commissioner to India Sohail Mahmood was summoned by the Indian external affairs ministry and issued a "strong démarche" in connection with the attack.

Also on Friday, Indian High Commissioner to Pakistan Ajay Bisaria was recalled by New Delhi for consultations in the aftermath of the bombing.

At least 44 Indian paramilitary soldiers were killed on Thursday in occupied Kashmir in the deadliest attack on security forces since 2002.

The attack, surpassing one in 2016 when 19 soldiers died, saw explosives packed inside a van rip through buses in a convoy of 78 vehicles carrying some 2,500 members of the paramilitary Central Reserve Police Force.

Two blue buses carrying around 35 people each bore the brunt of the explosion around 20 kilometres from the main city of Srinagar on the main highway towards Jammu.

Jaish-e-Mohammad (JeM) claimed responsibility, saying it was a suicide attack, according to The Hindu.

ISLAMABAD: United States Chargé d’Affaires Ambassador Paul Jones on Friday called on Foreign Secretary Tehmina Janjua to convey “an important message” from the Trump administration, a Foreign Office source said.

The meeting took place in the aftermath of a suicide attack in India-held Kashmir, which has raised tensions between Pakistan and India.

“The US Embassy had sought the meeting,” said embassy’s spokesman Richard Snelsire, but he did not divulge the contents of the meeting.

A source, however, said the message pertained to the post-attack situation.

The White House had, in its reaction to the attack on the Central Reserve Police Force bus in Pulwama on Thursday that left 44 paramilitary personnel dead, asked Pakistan “to end immediately the support and safe haven provided to all terrorist groups operating on its soil”.

The statement had said the goal of those terrorist groups was “to sow chaos, violence, and terror in the region”.

The attack, the White House said, strengthened its resolve to bolster counterterrorism cooperation and coordination with India.

A State Department statement, meanwhile, said: “We call on all countries to uphold their responsibilities pursuant to UN Security Council resolutions to deny safe haven and support for terrorists.”

American National Sec*urity Adviser John Bolton also spoke to his Indian counterpart Ajit Doval.

Meanwhile, Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Geng Shuang said Beijing wanted relevant countries in the region to make joint efforts to combat terrorism and preserve regional peace and security.

“China will continue to deal with the relevant listing issue in a constructive and responsible manner,” he said while responding to a question about Beijing’s technical hold on listing of Jaish-e-Mohammad chief Masood Azhar by the United Nations.

I was expecting a change in hearts amongst the two nations after 2019 Indian elections. It is now near impossible in next 5 years.

The issue is that Indians don't know that Pakistan has very little control of what goes on in their country. This is why most Indians think Pakistan leaders are directly behind it. Also it doesn't help when criminals and terrorists in Pakistan aren't arrested. At least do something for the sake of international relations.

I have questions for Pakistanis, only Pakistanis answer as I know many Indians assume like they know everything. How much power does Imran Khan actually has over the country ? Who is more powerful and inflential? Imran Khan or the Pakistani Military ?

To express their anger over the Pulwama terror attack, Mumbai's Cricket Club of India (CCI) has taken down two portraits of current Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan, who led the Pakistan cricket team to the 1992 World Cup title.

The CCI authorities have decided to cover a third picture of former Pakistan captain Khan at their restaurant The Porbundar All-rounder — where pictures of legendary all-rounders such as Garry Sobers, Kapil Dev, Ian Botham, Richard Hadlee and Jacques Kallis adorn the walls.

"It is our way of showing solidarity with the country. The country is above everything," CCI president Premal Udani was quoted as saying according to a report on The Hindustan Times. While Khan's picture at the restaurant is currently covered with a white sheet, CCI authorities are mulling the idea of pulling it down for good.

Over 40 personnel of the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) were killed in a dastardly attack on Thursday after an explosive-laden SUV rammed against a bus that was part of a 78-vehicle convoy in Awantipora in Jammu and Kashmir's Pulwama district. The SUV was driven by a militant Adil Ahmad Dar, with Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM) claiming responsibility for the incident.

The attack has come under widespread condemnation from politicians, sportspersons, actors among several others, with the spotlight falling on Pakistan — a country accused by New Delhi of providing safe haven for terrorists and waging a proxy war against India. Khan, who had been elected the 22nd Prime Minister of Pakistan on 18 August last year, has since drawn flak for his statements on the Kashmir conflict.

Meanwhile, support has been pouring in for the bereaved families, with former India cricketer Virender Sehwag offering to bear the expenses of education for the children of the CRPF personnel killed in the attack

Noooooo

Pakistan is now ruined.

HOW COULD U, INDIA??

WHY????

Lol

Foreign Secretary Tehmina Janjua on Sunday briefed envoys from African and Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) member states on Islamabad's position regarding the recent deadly attack targeting Indian security forces in occupied Kashmir's Pulwama area, and New Delhi's "knee-jerk" reaction of blaming Pakistan and threatening it.

On Thursday, at least 44 Indian paramilitary troops were killed in Indian-occupied Kashmir's Pulwama area in the deadliest attack on security forces in the valley since 2002. The attack, surpassing one in 2016 when 19 soldiers died, saw explosives packed inside a van rip through buses in a convoy of 78 vehicles carrying some 2,500 members of the paramilitary Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF).

Indian media reports claimed that Jaish-e-Mohammad (JeM) had claimed responsibility for the attack. The attacker was identified as a Kashmiri youth named Aadil Ahmad Dar who had used more than 750 pounds of explosives to target the military convoy.

Indian military commander Lt Gen DS Hooda, who had led the Indian army's Northern Command during a similar crisis in September 2016, said it is not possible to bring such a massive amount of explosives into the area "by infiltrating the border". He told the New York Times on Saturday that "the material may have been taken from stashes of explosives" being used to broaden the Jammu highway where the attack occurred.

Shortly after the attack, Islamabad had strongly condemned the violence and rejected any insinuation that sought to link it to Pakistan without investigation.

On Friday, Indian Finance Minister Arun Jaitley alleged there was "incontrovertible evidence" of Pakistan "having a direct hand in this gruesome terrorist incident" hours before a team of investigators from India's National Investigation Agency had reached the site of the attack. He also vowed that all measures would be taken to ensure Pakistan's complete diplomatic isolation.

Shortly after, India took several punitive economic measures, including the withdrawal of ‘Most Favoured Nation’ trade status and raising customs duty on all imports from Pakistan to 200 per cent, which is expected to affect the $2 billion bilateral trade. India has also decided to increase pressure on the Financial Action Task Force (FATF) to get Pakistan blacklisted over alleged links with the JeM.

'A familiar pattern of blame'
Janjua, in today's interaction with envoys belonging to SCO states, "recalled a familiar pattern of India blaming Pakistan instantly after such incidents without any investigation", the Foreign Office spokesman Dr Mohammad Faisal tweeted.

The foreign secretary also briefed resident ambassadors from African states. The Foreign Office tweeted that a "deliberate anti-Pakistan frenzy is being spurred in India".

"Baseless Indian allegations and aggressive rhetoric are counterproductive and a threat to regional peace," Dr Faisal warned.

A day earlier, the foreign secretary had taken envoys from the European Union and non-permanent members of the United Nations Security Council, on board to clear Islamabad's position over the Indian campaign against it.

Pakistan on Saturday warned the international community that India could resort to military adventurism in the aftermath of the attack and asked Delhi to investigate the tragedy before passing on the blame and share "actionable evidence" so that the matter could be pursued.

Indian External Affairs Ministry spokesman Raveesh Kumar, however, has rejected Pakistani calls for a probe into the attack before blaming Pakistan, saying: "The demand for an investigation is preposterous when there is a video of the suicide bomber declaring himself a member of the Jaish-e-Mohammad. There are also other audio-visual and print materials linking JeM to the terrorist attack. We have, therefore, no doubt that the claim is firmly established."

Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi in an interview yesterday said that Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi had two options: either to exploit the situation to his own advantage in view of the upcoming general elections or to act like a statesman who has vision for the betterment of his country and the region.

"One is to act like a typical politician and stage his reactions and policy while keeping an eye on the next election. Alternatively, he has the option of being a statesman who thinks about his region, his country’s poverty, the betterment of his country, as well as regional betterment," he said.

Kashmiris harassed by Indians
Following the attack, violent protest demonstrations as well as mob attacks on Kashmiri students and businessmen in India were reported, with some fleeing the in the northern city of Dehradun.

According to an APP report, Kashmiri students, studying in Haryana and Dehradun colleges have said that a mobs were harassing and thrashing them.

Quoting the Kashmir Media Service, it added that a student, Amir Hussain of Shopian, studying in MM University, Ambala, Haryana, told Srinagar-based reporters over phone that one of his colleagues had been thrashed by the mob.

"We were in the market when a group of protesters, shouting anti-Kashmir slogans beat one of us," Amir said, adding, some of the Kashmiri students have eaten nothing from Thursday fearing attacks by the mob outside.

Amir was quoted as saying that there are around 200 Kashmiri students who are trapped at MM University. He appealed to the authorities of occupied Kashmir to request the Haryana administration to ensure their safety.

Mohammad Saleem, of Bandipora and a student of Dev Bhoomi University, Dehradun, said that the varsity VC, registrar and other officials asked them to vacate their hostels while expressing the authorities helplessness to save the Kashmiri students from mob outside. Saleem said there are around 50 Kashmiri students in the college.

Pulwama terror attack: Rajnath vows for retaliatory action

The Union Home Minister observed one-minute silence before commencing his address to party’s booth level workers for the CRPF personnel who lost their lives in the terrorist attack on February 14.

Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh on Sunday reiterated Centre’s vows that martyrdom of CRPF personnel in Pulwama terror attack would not go in vain.

“I assure that sacrifices of our soldiers in the Pulwama terror attack will never go in vain and the country stands shoulder to shoulder at this juncture,” said Mr. Singh addressing party workers at Ranital in Odisha’s Bhadrak district.

“Terrorists have killed 40 of our jawans by making cowardly attack and two of these braves – Manoj Kumar Behea and Prasanna Sahoo - were from Odisha. Words do not suffice to speak in respect of them. I think at present everyone’s heart is swayed by restlessness and anger as to how to avenge the terrorist attack,” Mr. Singh said.

The Union Home Minister observed one-minute silence before commencing his address to party’s booth level workers for the CRPF personnel who lost their lives in the terrorist attack on February 14.

“Without mincing his words, Prime Minister Narendra Modi had already announced that the defence forces have been given full freedom for planning retaliatory action so that sacrifice would not go in vain. Being Home Minister, I assured the same,” he said.

The HM said: “I had convened meeting of all political parties on Saturday. Everyone had condemned terrorist attack in one voice and at the same they censured neighbouring Pakistan. Political parties reassured that they stand united with the forces.

“Defence forces, CRPF personnel and Jammu and Kashmir police have made wonderful job by achieving success in wiping out terrorists. I am not going to give any statistics here. But when forces backed by Pakistan felt that desperation was growing among terrorists, they had perpetrated such act,” he said. The sacrifice would not go in vain, Mr. Singh repeated.

“India has been a proud nation and the position the country is now has been as a result of sacrifice of the jawans of defence forces,” he added.

After PCA, Sawai Mansingh Stadium removes pictures of Pakistan cricketers to condemn Pulwama attack

After Cricket Club of India (CCI) and Mohali Cricket Stadium, pictures of Pakistan cricketers have now been removed from the Sawai Man Singh stadium in Jaipur to condemn Pulwama attack. Several pictures of Pakistan cricketers were removed from their picture gallery. The terror attack killed 40 India CRPF soldiers in the Kashmir valley. The attack has widened not only the political differences between both the nations but the cricketing differences as well.

Earlier, CCI had covered the portrait of Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan and secretary Suresh Bafna said that the step was their way of showing their respect to the soldiers who lost their lives in the attack. The CCI Secretary also asked the BCCI to not allow the Indian team to play Pakistan at the World Cup in the wake of the attacks as a way of showing their protest.

This attack on the Indian army has been one of the biggest one in recent times and the entire Indian cricketing fraternity has expressed their condolences over the incident as well.

Earlier, the CCI expressed their angst on Khan's silence on the overall issue. He is yet to speak on the incident on a political front. "We condemn the terror activities carried out against our army and CRPF personnel. Though CCI is a sporting association but nation comes first even before sports," CCI Secretary Suresh Bafna had told ANI earlier.

India and Pakistan are not playing any bilateral series since 2008 and have only played each other in multinational tournaments. It will now be interesting to see how the cricket boards from both teams react to this appeal by the CCI.

The PCB on their part has also expressed their displeasure over stoppage of PSL broadcast in India and also on Khan's portrait being covered.

"Unfortunately, denying India cricket fans the right to follow HBL PSL by blocking all digital coverage as well as covering or removing the portrait of former Pakistan cricket captain and Prime Minister Imran Khan and other legendary cricketers from one of the most historic cricket clubs and venues are highly regrettable actions" said PCB managing director Wasim Khan.

Sporting ties will be hampered until Pakistan sponsored terrorism is stopped, says IPL chairman Rajeev Shukla

The attack on a CRPF convoy in Pulwama on the Jammu-Srinagar highway has stunned the entire nation. The dastardly attack saw 40 CRPF jawans martyred and many injured in what is the worst terrorist attack in Kashmir since Uri. A convoy of over 2,500 soldiers and 78 vehicles was targeted by a suicide bomber of the Jaish-e-Mohammed terror outfit. An explosive-laden SUV rammed into the bus carrying the soldiers and saw the carnage on the streets of Pulwama.

The entire country has since tried to give its condolences to the families of the martyrs. Cricketers like Virender Sehwag, Gautam Gambhir and Shikhar Dhawan have vowed to bear the expense of the education of the children of the martyrs. The outcry over the attacks has been huge in India, with several calls for strict action against Pakistan. DSport was the official broadcaster of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) in India but they suspended its coverage in protest of the attack. Even IMG Reliance on Sunday announced that they will stop the production of the PSL 2019 which is currently underway in the UAE. This has definitely put Pakistan in a spot of bother and could result in huge financial losses for PCB.

Now IPL Chairman Rajeev Shukla has also commented on the Pulwama attack and how cricketing relationship between India and Pakistan could be hampered due to the blood bath in Kashmir.

“Whatever is happening, Imran Khan’s portrait being removed or MFN status revoked is people’s outrage and the reaction is justified,” Shukla told Times Now.

Shukla then opined that he wants to see cricket not getting involved with politics but Pakistan has to stop terrorism first before thinking of resuming cricketing ties with India.

“I’ve always said the sport is above politics but now it will hamper sporting ties too, not until Pakistan sponsored terrorism is stopped.”

Shukla went on to comment on the possible outcome of India boycotting a match up against arch-rivals Pakistan at the World Cup. He said that the tournament is really far away to take a call right now but the BCCI will wait for the government’s decision on the matter.

“Cannot say now whether we will play Pakistan in the World Cup as it’s too far but our policy and position is very clear, we will wait for the government's decision.”

The 2019 World Cup will be held in England and Wales from May 30 to July 14 and India are scheduled to take on Pakistan on June 16 at Old Trafford.

The 2019 World Cup will be held in England and Wales from May 30 to July 14 and India are scheduled to take on Pakistan on June 16 at Old Trafford.

If they are actually so serious on taking a stance against pakistan then just announce today that they won't be playing pakistan. If they can talk the talk they'll need to walk the walk as well.

Cricket stadiums around India have taken down portraits of Pakistan’s former captain-turned-Prime Minister Imran Khan amid protests over the killing of 41 paramilitaries in Kashmir last week.

India has blamed Pakistan for the suicide attack on a military convoy that sparked widespread calls for action against the country’s neighbour.

Khan, who led Pakistan to a World Cup victory in 1992, is considered one of the best players ever, and his portrait is found at many grounds around the world.

But the Cricket Club of India in Mumbai and the Test ground at Mohali have led the portrait protests by removing pictures of Khan and other Pakistan stars.

“We respect the sentiments of the people of India who are angry by what happened in Kashmir. In protest we took off the pictures of all Pakistani players,” Punjab Cricket Association treasurer Ajay Tyagi told.

“We have kept them in safe custody and will see later what we are going to do about them,” he added.

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) slammed the removal of the portraits.

“We have always believed and emphasised that sports and politics should be kept separate. History tells us that sports, particularly cricket, have always played a key role in building bridges between people and countries,” PCB managing director Wasim Khan said in a statement.

He called the protests “highly regrettable.”

Indian production company IMG Reliance has pulled out of producing the Pakistan Super League Twenty20 matches for broadcasters because of the Pulwama attack

India froze bilateral cricketing ties with Pakistan after deadly attacks on Mumbai in 2008 blamed on militants based across the border.

The arch rivals only play each other abroad, and are next scheduled to meet in the World Cup in England starting June 15.

Constructive anger is good though, but this seems like a triggered culture although shouldn't generalize coz its a minority.

Why is this dated December?

The whole thing seems a little strange to me. The guy was an Indian Kashmiri, and their own military has confirmed it is unlikely the explosive were smuggled across the border or LOC. Yet all the blame seems to be put on Pakistan, as if the guy was Pakistani, the explosives were brought from Pakistan and all the planning and funding came from Pakistan. Actually, it's not all that strange. The propensity of Indians to absolve their country of all criticism lines up with this rhetoric.

I didn't realise how biased and untrustworthy Indian media were until i actually read some of their articles.
They even made an article of an indian person refusing a handshake from the pakistani representative. Like how desperate can u be to please your country.

What has happened is truly sad and i condemn such acts by anyone, regardless of what faith or country. My condolences to the families that are suffering. The true heroes of both nation are its brave soldiers that give their ultimate sacrifice.

When I see the radical, irrational, indians/media portraying its headlines rooted in misplaced hatred, blind anger, and impulsiveness...it makes me question the brains of Indian people. They seem to be so smart, good doctors, brilliant engineers and the best in IT. Yet they act like sheep that blindly listen and follow whatever their media and Modi G says. He looks like a corrupt bad guy from a cheesy 90's bollywood movie.

Indians behaving with a hive mindset instead of asking real questions of their military and govt. makes them look stupid. I know that some terror group has claimed credit for it...i dont know if they really did or not...sometimes these groups take credit to make themselves look more dangerous and fearful. But lets say they did do it, how incompetent can you be to allow such a huge amount of explosives to go under your 7 lakh soldiers noses? Kya sabke naak band ty?

India is giving war threats and our defense minister is chilling in Dubai watching PSL.. :)))

What happened was good and we all Pakistani feel sorry for the families and loved ones of the martyered but we cant ignore the fact the way they treated kashmirs and the way the way they have been treating kashmiris since forever

Honestly Pakistanis are tired of this, even they don't care now. Behavior of SM Qureshi is the reflection of Pakistani peoples in this regard. They don't take serious these war topi drama.

The MFN status meant nothing practical to Pak at all. As for banning our actors from Bollywood I am thankful to India for that. I am one of those who has always opposed Pak actors working in semi porn Bollywood movies that is killing our own culture. This will also wake up the likes of Ali Zafar, Mahira Khan and Atif Aslam as well making them appreciate Pakistan. As for America they know well who they need most to exit Afghanistan. There standard condemnation of terrorism is nothing new.

Leave Within 48 Hours, Pak Nationals Told In Order In Rajasthan's Bikaner

BIKANER: Pakistan nationals in Rajasthan's Bikaner have been asked to leave the city within 48 hours, the District Magistrate said in an order on Monday.
Following a terror attack in Jammu and Kashmir's Pulwama on February 14, in which more than 40 CRPF personnel were killed, the Bikaner administration has issued a list of orders under section 144 of CrPC.

The orders, effective immediately, prohibit hotels and lodges of the district from allowing Pakistan citizens to check-in.

Indian citizens have been asked not to employ any Pakistan citizens and not have any direct or indirect business relationship with the neighbouring country.

"In the matter of receiving spoof calls from Pakistan, no citizen through any medium of telecommunication will exchange any kind of army or sensitive information to unknown persons. Any person of Bikaner district will not use sim cards registered in Pakistan," according to the order.

The order is applicable for two months, but would not be applicable to Pakistan citizens who have registered with the foreigners registration officer, the district administration said.

On Friday, India withdrew the Most Favoured Nation status accorded to Pakistan -- a day after the Pulwama terror attack.

Pakistan shooters granted visa for New Delhi World Cup

A three-member Pakistan contingent will arrive in New Delhi on Wednesday to compete in the shooting World Cup after they were granted visas on Monday afternoon, National Rifle Association of India secretary Rajiv Bhatia said. Pistol shooters GM Bashir and Khalil Ahmed are Pakistan’s only entries in the tournament, where Olympic quotas are up for grabs. They will compete in the rapid fire event. The duo will be accompanied by a manager.

Last week’s terror attack had cast a doubt over their participation in the World Cup. The speculation of a pullout was rife after the Pakistan shooting federation told the media in Karachi that they would not send their team if they did not get their visas by Monday evening. Bhatia, though, said he received confirmation about their participation in the afternoon. “I received an email from the Pakistan federation, saying they have been granted visas. The team is expected to reach Delhi on Wednesday,” Bhatia said.

UNITED NATIONS: Expressing deep concern “at the increase in tensions between India and Pakistan”, UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres has asked both sides to exercise maximum restraint and offered his “good offices” to ease the crisis.

Take a look: Regional unrest won't serve anyone's interests, says foreign minister

“The secretary general stresses the importance for both sides to exercise maximum restraint and take immediate steps to de-escalate tensions. His good offices are available if accepted by both sides,” said Stephane Dujarric, spokesperson for the UN secretary general, while responding to a question at a media briefing.

Pakistan has accepted such offers by the UN chief in the past, but India has been reluctant to involve the world body in an issue that it terms a bilateral dispute.

BCCI celebrating Pakistan cricket? Autographed bats, pictures still proudly displayed in Mumbai head office

The iconic Cricket Club of India, state associations like HPCA and PCA might have taken off pictures of Pakistani cricketers from the walls of their galleries in the wake of the devastating terrorist attack in Pulwama, but the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) headquarters in Mumbai is yet to follow suit.

CCI was the first cricketing body to remove the portrait of Imran Khan, current Pakistan Prime Minister and former cricket team captain, as a mark of protest after 40 CRPF jawans were martyred in the suicide bomb blast by Pakistani proxies that took place in the valley on February 14.

While several other state associations took similar steps to register their protest over the dastardly act of JeM terrorists who are backed by Pakistan, the BCCI headquarters in Mumbai is yet to take down the personalised signature memorablia such as bats and pictures of the cricket matches between the two countries that hang on its walls.

The BCCI seems to be playing a wait-and-watch game regarding the debate over India's World Cup match with Pakistan that is scheduled to take place on June 16, it being the most contentious topic in the cricketing fraternity.

“The situation will get clearer after some time, a little closer to the World Cup. ICC has nothing to do with it. If the government at that point in time feels we shouldn’t play, it’s obvious that we won’t play”, a BCCI source told ANI on the matter.

While the ICC chairman David Richardson has said that the schedule remains unchanged where the forthcoming World Cup is concerned, the only way India can skip a match against Pakistan in the showpiece event is by forfeiting the fixture.

“But the result of that would be that Pakistan will get the points of the match & if it is final (between India & Pakistan), they will win the World Cup without even playing. We haven’t yet approached ICC in this regard”, the source revealed while highlighting what the consequences of leaving the match could possibly be.

It has also been understood that no member of the BCCI has as yet reached out to the ICC in order to discuss the matter. As things stand now, the government guidelines are the sole decider as far as the fate of the Indo-Pak encounter on the cricket field is concerned.

United States President Donald Trump has said that his government will comment on last week’s suicide bombing in Pulwama — that killed more than 40 Indian troops — at "an appropriate time".

Trump, while answering a question from the media regarding the attack, said: “I have watched; I have got a lot of reports on it. We will have comment [on it] at an appropriate time. It would be wonderful if they [Pakistan and India] get along."

The president, who made these comments during an Oval Office signing ceremony on Tuesday, called the attack "a horrible situation".

Earlier in the day, State Department Deputy Spokesperson Robert Palladino during a press briefing said the US government was in touch with both the governments regarding the incident.

"We have been in close communication with the government of India to express not only our condolences but our strong support for India as it confronts this terrorism," said Palladino. "We have a close, cooperative relationship with India, a security relationship, and that includes counterterrorism operations."

"As far as Pakistan goes, we’ve been in contact with Pakistan on this issue," Palladino added. "We urge Pakistan to fully cooperate with the investigation into the attack and to punish anyone responsible."

Shortly after the Pulwama attack, the US had singled out Pakistan in its statement condemning the incident.

“The United States calls on Pakistan to end immediately the support and safe haven provided to all terrorist groups operating on its soil, whose only goal is to sow chaos, violence, and terror in the region,” the statement from the White House press secretary’s office had said, adding that "the attack strengthened US resolve to bolster counterterrorism cooperation with India".

Pakistan and India's relations have been tense since the suicide bombing, with the latter blaming the former of being complicit in the attack — a charge Islamabad has denied from the get-go.

On Tuesday, Prime Minister Imran Khan had said Islamabad would take action if Delhi shares any actionable evidence concerning last week's suicide bombing.

While offering cooperation and another chance at a dialogue over the Kashmir issue, the premier also warned India against any act of aggression, saying Pakistan will not hesitate in retaliating to a provocation.

India, however, responded to Prime Minister Khan's offer with further vitriol, describing the premier's statement that Pakistan itself has been the biggest victim of terrorism as "far from the truth".

"We are not surprised that the prime minister of Pakistan refuses to acknowledge the attack on our security forces in Pulwama as an act of terrorism. Prime minister of Pakistan has neither chosen to condemn this heinous act nor condoled with the bereaved families," India's Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) had complained.

It is pertinent to mention that the Foreign Office soon after the attack had termed it a matter of grave concern.

According to media reports, Jaish-e-Mohammad (JeM) — which is banned in Pakistan and listed as a terrorist organisation — has claimed responsibility for the attack.

Union law minister Ravi Shankar Prasad has called for a ban in cricket ties with Pakistan in the aftermath of the Pulwama terror attack which left 40 CRPF soldiers dead. India and Pakistan do not play bilateral cricket but play each other in ICC events.

Last September, India played Pakistan in the Asia Cup twice. In 2017, India and Pakistan had played each other in the Champions Trophy. They are next scheduled to play in the 2019 Cricket World Cup in Manchester on June 16. However, voices in India want BCCI to boycott the match against Pakistan.

India cricketer Harbhajan Singh, speaking to India Today, said India should not play Pakistan in the World Cup after Pakistan-based terror outfit Jaish-e-Mohammad claimed responsibility for the ghastly attack in Pulwama.

"I cannot make any comment [on cricket issues] except to say those who are demanding it have some justification. You can see many films and concerts have been cancelled. Things are not normal. If things are not normal, the jhappiyan-pappiyan (hugs and kisses) issues have always been there," Prasad told India Today.

"Since it's an international tournament, the ICC and our Indian cricket board (BCCI) have to take a call after consideration with our security establishment.

"But I don't wish away their concern. It's time to say no. Mr Imran Khan had no word of condolence for those who were killed," he said.

Indian Premier League chairman Rajeev Shukla on Wednesday confirmed that the BCCI will act upon whatever decision the government takes in this matter.

"No bilateral matches happening from the last 10 years between India and Pakistan. India is only playing Pakistan in ICC tournaments. Now, we in the BCCI will follow further government decision on it.

"BCCI CEO will follow government order, whether India has to play ICC matches with Pakistan or not. If government thinks that India should not play vs Pakistan, BCCI will definitely follow the instruction," former BCCI vice-president Rajeev Shukla said on Indo-Pak cricket.

"BCCI's decision on India-Pakistan has always been based on government advise. Any decision that BCCI COA takes should be after calling an SGM and taking into account all the members' views," former BCCI secretary Niranjan Shah said.

Meanwhile, ICC CEO Dave Richardson said there was no indication yet that the India-Pakistan match would not go ahead as planned on June 16.

"Our thoughts are with everyone who has been affected by this terrible incident and we will be monitoring the situation with our Members," Richardson said, offering his condolences on the ghastly terror attack in which 40 CRPF personnel were martyred.

"There is no indication that any (of the) matches at the ICC Men's Cricket World Cup will not go ahead as planned," Richardson said in a statement to PTI.

Pulwama aftermath: Pakistani prisoner stoned to death in India’s Jaipur jail

NEW DELHI – A Pakistani prisoner was killed by Indian inmates lodged at the Jaipur Central Jail on Wednesday (today).

According to Indian media, the deceased, identified as Shakirullah, first brutally tortured and then reportedly stoned to death by his fellow Indian prisoners.

The Pakistan inmate was reportedly being held on charges of espionage. Three convicts are believed to have murdered him inside the Jaipur Central Jail, located in Rajasthan.

The killers had decided to kill the Pakistani inmate in protest against the February 14 Pulwama attack,” the media report added.

According to an initial probe, two Indian prisoners were involved in the killing as a ‘protest’ against the February 14 attack in Kashmir, News Nation has reported.

In January, Pakistan had shared with India a list of 537 Indian prisoners lodged in Pakistani jails as per the provisions of a bilateral agreement. They include 54 civilians and 483 fishermen, the Foreign Office (FO) said in a statement here.

“The Government of Pakistan today (Tuesday) handed over a list of 537 Indian prisoners (54 civilians and 483 fishermen) in Pakistan to the High Commission of India in Islamabad,” it said. The step was taken under the Consular Access Agreement of May 21, 2008, between Pakistan and India, the Foreign Office said.

According to the agreement, both countries are required to exchange lists of prisoners in each other’s custody twice a year, on January 1 and July 1. At least 347 Pakistani citizens or those believed to be Pakistani citizens, including 249 civilians charged under various acts and 98 fishermen who had crossed into Indian waters, are in Indian jails.

The two countries have adhered to the practice of exchanging the list of prisoners despite recurring tensions. It is one of the enduring Confidence Building Measures (CBMs) agreed upon when the two sides were trying to disentangle the complex relationship with the help of the composite dialogue process.

Fishermen from Pakistan and India are frequently detained for illegally fishing in each other’s territorial waters since the Arabian Sea does not have a clearly defined marine border and the wooden boats lack the technology to avoid being drifting away.

The news of the mysterious death of a Pakistani prisoner in a Jaipur jail comes as Pakistanis and Kashmiris in India are facing increasing threats by Indian nationalists.

Indians ‘tried’ to paint a pakistani flag on the streets of india

Artist-Vinod-Panda-paints.jpg

The relationship between Pakistan and India are in hot water after the Pulwama incident. But this has turned people from both sides of the border into warriors behind the screens fighting for their nation. It won’t be wrong to say that social media in India and Pakistan has definitely become a battleground. And this video just came on Twitter where Indians have drawn a flag on the road which almost looks like Pakistan. And wow we are scared.

https://news.parhlo.com/pakistani-flag-indian-streets/

:yk

LMAO they are so dumb they couldn't even get the flag right.

India surely has a bright future :yk

I don't think anyone in Pakistan is paying attention to what's happening in India. It's kind of hilarious to see them go all crazy.

United States President Donald Trump, while voicing alarm at a “very dangerous” standoff between India and Pakistan, indicated that the US and others are trying to defuse tensions between South Asia’s two nuclear-armed states.

"Right now between Pakistan and India, there is a very, very bad situation. A very dangerous situation,” Trump told reporters in the Oval Office on Friday afternoon.

“We would like to see it [hostilities] stop. A lot of people were just killed. We want to see it just stop. We are very much involved in that [process]," he added.

At least 40 Indian soldiers were killed in occupied Kashmir's Pulwama district on Feb 14 when a suicide bomber drove an explosive-laden car into their convoy. According to media reports, Jaish-e-Muhammad claimed responsibility for the attack but New Delhi immediately blamed Islamabad and threatened a retaliatory attack. It also announced that it would launch a diplomatic offensive to isolate Pakistan in the international community. Furthermore, India scrapped the Most Favoured Nation status granted to Pakistan and imposed a 200 per cent customs duty on its goods.

In response to India's allegations, Prime Minister Imran Khan promised to conduct an investigation if New Delhi provided “actionable evidence” but also warned that Pakistan will "retaliate" if attacked. On Friday, the Pakistan army also warned India to avoid "any misadventure", as it could have dangerous consequences.

The exchange alarmed world capitals, who — as President Trump hinted in his news briefing on Friday — immediately got in touch with both New Delhi and Islamabad to defuse the situation.

“We're talking and a lot of people are talking [...] but it is a very, very delicate balance going on. Right now, there is (sic) a lot of problems between India and Pakistan because of what just happened," Trump said.

Trump assured India that the US understood its feelings. "India is looking at something very strong. India just lost almost 50 people in the attack. I can understand that too," he said, adding that his administration was talking to "authorities in both countries". He, however, did not specify what measures the US and other nations had so far taken to avoid further escalation between the neighbouring countries.

On Thursday, the United Nations Security Council urged all states to “cooperate actively” with New Delhi for bringing to justice all those who were responsible for last week’s attack.

The same day, Pakistan’s National Security Committee decided to proscribe the Jamaatud Dawa and its charity wing, Falah-i-Insaniyat Foundation, as part of measures to tighten the noose around extremist and militant groups in the country.

India rejects third-party negotiations in its disputes with Pakistan, saying that it prefers bilateral talks. But so far, New Delhi has refused to hold direct talks insisting that it wants Islamabad to tackle with militancy. India's stance creates a difficult situation for mediators who cannot publicly declare their efforts for improving ties between the two neighbours, lest it annoys India.

President Trump, in response to a question during Friday's news briefing, pointed out that the US had last year suspended military aid to Pakistan "because they weren't helping us in the way that they should have".

“I stopped paying Pakistan the $1.3 billion that we used to pay them. In the meantime, we may set up some meetings with Pakistan,” he said, but did not explain the nature, level or timings of those meetings.

He, however, added that ties between the two countries had improved.

"We have developed a much better relationship with Pakistan [in a] short period of time than we had [before]," Trump said. Bilateral ties between Washington and Islamabad have grown warmer since Pakistan agreed to broker peace talks between the Afghan Taliban and the US. The US is looking to achieve a lasting solution to Afghanistan's crisis before withdrawing its troops from Afghan soil.

BJP youth wing members protest outside Eden Gardens, demand removal of Pak cricketers' photos

Kolkata, Feb 23 Over 40 members of the BJP's youth wing were Saturday arrested for protesting outside the Eden Gardens here, demanding that the photographs of Pakistani cricketers, including that of Imran Khan, be removed from the iconic stadium's gallery.

The protesters demanded a meeting with Cricket Association of Bengal (CAB) president and former Team India captain Sourav Ganguly to hand over a letter seeking removal of photographs of Pakistani cricketers from the stadium, BJP sources said.

Over 40 members of the BJP's youth wing have been arrested in this connection, a senior Kolkata police officer said.

The stadium's gallery features photographs of several Pakistani cricketers, including Prime Minister Imran Khan, according to a CAB official.

Ganguly, who has said that India should not play against Pakistan in the upcoming cricket World Cup protesting the Pulwama terror attack, could not be reached for his reaction.

The Eden Garden protest came close on the heels of similar agitations in cricket stadiums in Mumbai and Nagpur. SCH SNS GVS

War is not a picnic- Spy Chief

NEW DELHI: Former Indian spy chief A.S. Dulat said on Friday that war was not a picnic and asked Prime Minister Narendra Modi to weigh his widely speculated options against Pakistan with preference for an aggressive diplomacy.

His views published by the Congress party-run National Herald newspaper tallied with former Congress home minister P. Chidambaram who said the suicide bomber who killed over 40 paramilitary men in Pulwama on Feb 14 was an Indian, and as such the government should focus on winning the hearts and minds of the alienated people of the disputed state.

Mr Dulat said he did not believe war was imminent.

“I don’t think so. The government [Prime Minister Modi] did say they were giving a free hand to the army, but wars are nastier these days. I’m sure there are other options short of war. Even after the Mumbai terror attack, there was a clamour for war, probably even louder, but Dr Manmohan Singh did not go to war. So, Modi has to weigh his options, people at the top have to weigh the consequences. War is not a picnic.

ARTICLE CONTINUES AFTER AD

There hasn’t been a real war since 1971. Kargil was a limited operation and it was in the heights where fortunately not many civilians got affected. But, if Lahore is bombed, or Amritsar is bombed or even Muzaffarabad is bombed, are we prepared for the consequences? Today, the weaponry is also not that of 1971, it has all changed.”

In a separate interview elsewhere, Mr Chidambaram was asked the same question, he said: “I condemn the Pulwama incident. But the alleged perpetrator is an Indian, a Kashmiri. He is not a Pakistani.

He claims to have been influenced or indoctrinated by the Jaish-e-Mohammad, maybe that’s true. But if young men are pushed into the arms of militant organisations, whatever we do on the border, whatever we do to contain Pakistan, whatever we do to stop infiltration, whatever we do of cross-border action, is not going to yield any results."

"We have to win the hearts and minds of the people of Kashmir Valley,” said Mr Dulat, a Kashmir expert, who served as adviser to former prime minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee, adding that Mr Vajpayee had faced the worst of assaults – including the Kargil standoff, the parliament attack and the hijacking of the Indian airline plane to Kandahar. But he handled all the events with equanimity.

Mr Dulat, a Sikh, said the embrace between Congress minister in Punjab and former cricketer Navjot Sidhu and Pakistan’s Army Chief Qamar Javed Bajwa should not be misread.

“How Sidhu greeted General Bajwa is how Punjabis meet and greet each other. And here, they were not just Punjabis, but here was a Jatt Sikh from our side meeting a Jatt from the other side. The way a Sidhu and a Bajwa met is the normal way they would meet. If there was an element of embarrassment, it should have been caused more to Bajwa, who was in uniform. Sidhu did whatever he did spontaneously.”

Mr Dulat explained the genesis of the current spiral. “When you stop talking, then you are cutting down your options. That’s why we are back to the narrative of violence. When it comes to insurgencies worldwide, very rarely has an insurgency been sorted out or solved through force and by the gun.

The British, who dealt with this more than anybody else, had a huge problem in 1950 in Malaya. And that is when two of their top officers (a Field Marshal and a General) wrote the first handbook on how to deal with insurgency and the crux of that handbook, which is still used in the West, is that there is a need to win the hearts and minds of the people.”

What do Neutrals think ?

I wanna wask Pakistani posters here, do you really think Pakistan had 0 influence in this attack ? Just want to see your input here.

What more can anyone say after reading this? He speaks the words that many Pakistanis and sane moderate india s and Hindus say. India should listen to this man's words, or appoint him as a chief advisor for handling the Kashmir issue.

Indian Congress Leader Udit Raj has claimed that “power-hungry” Narendra Modi had planned the Pulwama terror attack that took place in February 2019, just weeks before the Indian parliamentary elections that saw the latter consolidating his grip on the country.

In a tweet, the Congress leader termed the security breach during recent Modi’s visit to Indian Punjab a “drama”, saying it proved that Modi was behind the ghastly terror attack in which 40 personnel lost their lives.

“Why the soldiers were allowed to travel in a convoy and were not airlifted,” Times Now quoted Raj as saying.

Earlier, former Congress president Rahul Gandhi including other Indian politicians had also raised doubts over the terror attack.

Lawmaker from India’s Wayanad district asked who benefitted the most from the attack and why no accountability was fixed over the security lapses that led to the attack.

Last year, Pakistan urged the international community to hold India accountable for vitiating the regional security environment after it emerged that New Delhi had staged the Pulwama attack to ensure election win for Narendra Modi.

A damning transcript of WhatsApp messages between Arnab Goswami, chief editor of Republic TV, and Pratho Dasgupta – the incarcerated head of ratings company Broadcast Audience Research Council (BARC) – had exposed New Delhi’s smear campaign against Islamabad.

The conversation is part of a 3,400-page supplementary charge-sheet filed by Mumbai Police investigating the alleged tampering case.

The Foreign Office, in a statement, said the conversation has vindicated Pakistan’s stance on India’s hegemonic designs.

India was quick to blame Pakistan for the attack and rejected repeated offers of cooperation by Prime Minister Imran Khan.

Seems like Indians are slowly waking up to the realities of state sponsored brain washing.

Perfect. His anti India rant works for Modi. Some non-sense arguments though - airlift etc.

Seems like Indians are slowly waking up to the realities of state sponsored brain washing.

Most Indians laugh at such conspiracy theories. Udit Raj is an unimportant politician (joined BJP when they gave him a Lot Sabha ticket, left BJP when they did not give him one for the next elections) promoting a fringe theory to attack the BJP.

India has strongly hit out at Pakistan at the UN, saying the world knows where perpetrators of the 2008 Mumbai, 2016 Pathankot and 2019 Pulwama terror attacks came from and it is "regretful" that facilitators of these "dastardly" acts continue to enjoy State support and hospitality.

Counsellor in India's Permanent Mission to the UN Rajesh Parihar began his remarks to the open briefing of the Counter-Terrorism Committee on Monday by recalling that exactly three years ago on February 14, 2019, 40 brave men of Indian security personnel were killed in a "dastardly terrorist attack" in Pulwama carried out by Jaish-e-Mohammad (JeM).

"The world had witnessed the horrors of the 2008 Mumbai terror attack, the 2016 Pathankot terror attack, and the 2019 Pulwama terrorist attack. We all know from where the perpetrators of these attacks came from," Mr Parihar said, delivering India's national statement at the open briefing on the work of the Counter-Terrorism Committee Executive Directorate (CTED) with the Member States of South and South-East Asia.

He said it is "regretful" that victims of these dastardly attacks are yet to get justice, and the perpetrators, facilitators and financiers of these attacks continue to walk free, "still enjoying State support and hospitality," making a reference to Pakistan.

"This epicentre of terrorism nurtures terrorist entities with links to more than 150 UN-designated entities and individuals, and its leaders often extol terrorists as 'martyrs'," he said, alluding to Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan calling slain al-Qaeda leader Osama bin Laden as a 'martyr'.

Mr Parihar asserted that India is "fully committed" to bringing the perpetrators of these terror attacks on its soil to justice, while he emphasised that it is "high time" the international community calls upon "this epicentre of terror state" to take effective, credible, verifiable, and irreversible actions without further delay against terror outfits operating on its territory and under their control.

"We have consistently witnessed terror attacks on ethnic, sectarian and religious minorities, including Christians, Hindus and Sikhs. The growth of extremist ideology in our neighbouring state is bolstered by their patronage of radical outfits. The mainstreaming of radicalism and communal ideology by the State has also provided a fertile environment for the growth of terror infrastructure in the region," he said.

Noting with concern that the terrorist threat posed by State-sponsored terrorism has remained high in the South Asia region, he said many countries in the South Asia region have been victims of State-sponsored terrorism in the last five decades.

"The UN-designated terrorist groups, such as Lashkar-e-Taiba, Harkat-ul-Mujahidin, and Jaish-e-Mohammad, as well as their aliases and proxies continue to operate in the region targeting civilians, security forces, places of worship, soft targets and critical infrastructure," he said.

Underlining that India has been at the receiving end of terror acts, including cross-border terrorism, for past several decades, Mr Parihar said the country has also been at the forefront of the collective global fight against terrorism, advocating and practicing a "zero tolerance" policy towards terrorism.

India's Permanent Representative to the UN Ambassador T S Tirumurti had opened the briefing with his remarks as Chair of the Counter-Terrorism Committee.

Delivering the remarks in his capacity as Chair of the Counter-Terrorism Committee, Mr Tirumurti said that linkages between the Taliban, Al-Qaeda and UN Security Council-designated terror entities such as LeT and JeM, are "a further source of concern".

He noted that "serious concern" remains that Afghanistan may become a safe haven for Al Qaeda and other terrorist groups in the region.

He stressed that the recent 1988 Committee report to the Security Council noted that the ties between the Taliban, largely through the Haqqani Network, and the al-Qaeda and foreign terrorist fighters remain close and are based on ideological alignment and relationships forged through common struggle and intermarriage.

Mr Tirumurti underlined that the Taliban's rise to power in Afghanistan also poses a "complex security threat" outside the region, particularly in parts of Africa, where terrorist groups may try to emulate the Taliban's example.

He noted that since their military defeat in the conflict zones of the Middle East, ISIL and Al-Qaida have been seeking to establish a foothold in both South and South-East Asia.

He emphasised that the misuse of information and communications technologies (ICT) - including new technologies such as artificial intelligence (AI), robotics, "deep fakes", and Blockchain - for terrorist purposes is on the increase.

"Use of drones for cross-border trafficking of arms, drugs and launching terror attacks have also remained an issue of serious concern," he said.

He called on member states to harness the power of new technologies to counter terrorist threats in a responsible and human-rights compliant manner.

On this day in 2019, a convoy of vehicles carrying Indian security personnel on the Jammu–Srinagar National Highway was attacked by a vehicle-borne suicide bomber at Lethapora Pulwama city in the Pulwama district of Indian-administered Jammu and Kashmir.

These attacks not only affected the Indian side but also affected the already critical ties between India and Pakistan. Hope these kinds of attacks do not happen again because they only hurt the people who are affected by them.

Eventually the truth will come out about this treacherous government and Modi will be jailed, if someone has the guts to try him for corruption and treason.

Why treacherous government? Was it a false flag attack ?
The Governor of J&K Satyapal Malik who was a BJP guy and who still has good relations with Amit Shah has repeatedly said that the government refused the CRPF's request to transport its men by air. This request lay with the govt for 4 months. Evntually they were sent by road defying all standard protocol - inlcuding the size of the convoy, the lack of sanitizing and a complete refusal to act on multiple intel reports about an incoming attack on a convoy. Prominent news outlets like The Print had in fact carried these intel reports before the attack happened.

I don't believe it was a false flag. I believe they looked the other way and allowed it to happen just before national elections.

That certainly makes sense afterall Modi Government was the big time beneficiary of that attack, no other party/group benefitted more.

Allow an attack to happen and then channelize public anger by conducting air strikes in Pakistan, claim to bomb hundreds of terrorist camps in Pakistan ( exaggerate what happened ) to create an image of a Strong Nationalist Leader who took revenge for the Nation and garner more votes.

But who can prosecute him in India ? He seems to be stronger than even the establishment in Pakistan with millions of supporters backing him blindly.

It can only happen if the BJP don't win an absolute majority. If that happens, Modi will be left to fend for himself by some prominent leaders within the BJP itself. Forget what the opposition will do to him.

Right now, it's pretty much one man winning them the national elections. So they have to shut up and bide their time with smiling faces.
