Hi,

It remains to be seen how well has AAP captured rural vote through their rhetorical election rallies, banking on Punjab's hopelessness. They seemed like walking away with it by December last year but last few months saw them struggling a bit. Too many factions within the party had people doubting their leadership ability, they've been asking for vote in the name of Kejriwal who remains a polarising figure.

I think Congress's election campaign was exceptional. They were successful in projecting Capt Amarinder Singh as Punjab's saviour son of the soil. They seemed united for a change, brought in some star campaigners and were very bold in giving away tickets this time. I spent time in PU-Chandigarh and a lot of youth leaders from there got a massive push in this election which seemed to have a lot of visible influence in an image turnover for a party dealing with Rahul Gandhi jokes. They were smart in doing that.

Badals are going to be smashed in this poll. Only the most closed minded akali loyalists and bhakts would have voted for their alliance.

My verdict :-
Congress gets 60+
AAP 35+
Akali+BJP <20

Punjab puts faith in a united and improved Congress and Capt Amarinder Singh's charm. Gives launchpad to AAP but would like them to grow and mature into a more believable unit.

Fear :-
AAP 70+
Congress 30+
Akali 15-20

Hopelessness. AAP sweeps entire rural Punjab. An immature government. State to be governed through Delhi. Punjab gives massive push to AAP's brand of politics.

Pretty much how I thought, only 10+ to Congress and 10- from AAP which just goes to show how Indian voting trend is getting more homogenous and decisive.

Less said about UP, Uttarakhand the better. Central India has succumbed to the worst communal wave in decades and it is shameful how the major political party feels no guilt in polarising the country on communal lines for its electoral gains. Absolutely disgraceful.

Big news of the day not captured in media. Congress has shown signs of resurgence with majority in 3/5 states located across east, west and north.

Irom sharmila fasted 5800 days for Manipuri people and they returned the favour by giving her 90 votes. This is how we repay sacrifice. Pathetic

The NEDA is likely to form govt in Manipur not Congress.

So Congress lost Manipur and UKD and gained Punjab.Goa is hung assembly.

Please stop spreading fake stories..communal waves? You think BJP used this tactics? Shake your head...

The Badals deserved this result.

Hopefully the new CM will come good on his pledge to tackle the drug and alcohol problems facing so many families in the state.
