Rahul Gandhi- heir of one of the most prominent political families in the world. leader of opposition of the world’s largest democracy. Never held any official position in the government or administration

Priyanka Vadra- from the powerful Gandhi family, rumors that she will take over from her brother if things continue to go south for Congress in India. Never held any relevant position.

Maryam Nawaz- heir of the powerful Nawaz dynasty. Chief minster of Pak-Punjab.

Bilawal Bhutto- son of Benazir Bhutto, former foregin minister of Pak, one of the most powerful people in Sindh.

Jay Shah- chairman of ICC, controls world cricket.

Tarique Rehman- son of Khleda Zia, with a political vacuum in Bangladesh, with Hasina out and Khaleda being old and sick, he was planning to take over. Never heard of him before so a new entry into the nepo club.

Please feel free to add others. Haven’t added Imran Khan’s kids as they are apolitical and away from politics. Not sure Hasina has any influential nepo kids or the Srilankan Pm.

At the moment it's Maryam. She is in power politically and Pak Punjab is significant seat to hold.

Jay Shah has some nice clout but it doesn't compare to political power.

I liked when he tried to convince a BBC journalist that Hilary Clinton running for US president was same as Dynastic politics in Pakistan.

Hands down its got to be Maryam Nawaz as the OP titled ‘Most powerful’ with her being a CM and her uncle being a PM.

But if it goes to how a clown gets to be a leader, I would say Rahul Gandhi. Because, he has no clue on what it takes to be a leadership material let alone politics. He cannot hold a simple argument and never tries to be relevant to his audience. Feel sad for Congress and India too, because a Manmohan Singh level PM candidate could have given a strong opposition in India. It drives the politics as a whole to be more growth driven.

Maryam Nawaz thought I haven't followed her whole campaign but with the limited online knowledge tries to hide from being the face of the party like Sonia Gandhi but controls the power. So, she is smart in that manner.

Rahul was supposed to be the PM candidate during 2009-2014 term but Manmohan Singh had a very good image at the time and they positioned Rahul as a leader who is an intellectual taking a stride in politics at ground level. But it was due to popularity of Manmohan Singh that RG was not able to get the PM candidate role.

After Manmohan singh’s retirement, all the strong leaders in Congress were sidelined slowly making RG as the face of opposition at every state-level election. Congress didn't even get the seats to have an opposition leader status during Modi’s first two terms. The situation was so bad that Congress said the PM candidate would be announced later if a ‘Hung’ government was formed.

Congress had so many intellectual leaders who are head and shoulders above RG and even BJP leaders. But they often lacked the vision.

Manmohan singh, Shashi Tharoor, Pranab Mukharjee etc were prominent leaders with very good educational background. Congress always used to support diverse thoughts and WAS a party of intellectuals. But for the sake of Rahul Gandhi, senior leaders such as Sonia Gandhi, Kharge drove the party into ground.

RG is the worst tyoe of Nepo kid. A delusional guy who is very incompetent but probably can be a nice person if that responsibility is not forcibly thrown into his throat. It’s a sad state.

And to counter the BJP, Congress has into a full blown left extreme party with RG at the top who has no clue about anything.

The A listers are the kids of Bhuttos, Ghandis and Sharifs..... Take your pick, each are representative of how third world countries corrupt and make a mockery of democracy.

Then there is a second layer of kids of politicians, establishment and armed forces whose kids who act with impunity that are more visible at the street level.
