Question to meat eaters: Why do you do it?

Because once lab grown meat will be proven to healthy in the long run (ie studies of over 10 years) laws will be brought in to stop animal slaughter or make animal meat extremely expensive.

How are you sure lab grown meat will be proven healthy? How are you sure laws will be brought to prohibit slaughtering? I expect many people to want real meat; not lab junk.

Same as how we are sure animal slaughter is healthy. By applying science and legislation.

I dare say some people will still want meat, but in fifty years societies will change and they will be considered cow-murderers and planet-murderers.

It will be proven by scientific research. People might still want real meat, but they will have to pay massive amounts for it. The taxes and levy on slaughter of animals will be huge. And rightly so

To the indians who pooh pooh the slaughter of animals and consumption of meat, here is a piece of news for you. You might not be eating meat but you are equally, if not more, complicit in the diminishing of wildlife around the world. You may not be eating cows and lambs but you are doing more than your share of wiping out a number of animal and bird species in the world.

What has this to do with being Indian? I am Indian and probably eat more meat than most people on this forum. My current a week intake is 20 eggs, 1 whole chicken, 5-6 chicken breasts, 20 rashes of bacon, 1-2 fish and a couple of hamburgers and the occasional steak.

I realise that the amount of meat I eat is not sustainable, neither for the environment nor for the animal rights. But as I am on bulk, I need to eat this amount of protein. If proven healthy in the long run, I would like to lab meat as it will help the environment

One can argue that veggies are also a form of life then why not stop eating them too? See countries like India where huge amounts of cattle can be seen roaming on the streets. I would say it is better to eat them then anything else.

Very good point.

If animals are not killed for foods, we may see overpopulation of animals.

Moreover why does India export so much meat to other countries if it loves cows in particular so much? Like it or not most of the world consumes meat and will continue to do so:inzi2

No we won't, because we won't feed them either.

A few wild ones will survive on the moors. On Dartmoor are wild cattle, ponies, sheep and even wallabies.

So you vegans(?) want no animals in the world it seems to stop meat consumption?. If you don't feed animals then most will naturally die from starvation. What's with this war on meat eaters offering us all sorts of weird alternatives.

I tried a Camel Burger in Dubai. Wow! Tastes a mix of chicken & beef. So tender and juicy.

Try it!

I seriously laugh at the assumption of Pakistanis that most Indians don't consume meat :))

I believe it is not meat. It is seafood.

I tried it before at an Italian restaurant. It tasted okay. I almost never eat it though.

It's shocking cause Bangladesh and Karachi are mostly associated with seafood. :D

I love fish though. Have heard there isn't better fish than Bangladesh.

Yeah but we don't eat these foods (oyster, mussels etc.).

Also, I eat more meat than fish.

My state as well.

Don't mean to sound offensive, I don't have much idea about India's geography apart from Haryana (Shahbad, Ambala and Simla where my ancestors are from)

I do have some knowledge about the Andaman islands. And a totally isolated tribe of people there who are totally cut off from the rest of the world intentionally. Fascinating stuff.

Pro biotic
Symprove
Google it and order it directly from them.
75ml every morning before you eat or drink anything.
It's worked wonders for me...

Prebiotic
Kimchi / fermented veg
Hemp seeds
Flax seeds
Kefir

Thanks I'll definitely give these a try.

Lastly, any beef cuts you recommend and any I should avoid?

Would you seriously laugh at non-Pakistanis who assumed the same thing?

We Brits have always associated India as a majority Hindu country being a healthy eating veg consuming trailblazer.

Corrected.

Its a age old debate and particularly involves people from Dharmic and Abrahamic religion. But in recent times we have seen a surge in support of Vegetarianism due to discourse on "Animal rights"

So in your opinion which food is more conducive for human body? Also state pro and cons of both foods or any relevant stuff that you think fit.

We have discussed this already, haven't we?

@KingKhanWC What’s the best fried chicken you’ve had in Brum?

- Saqibs Lozells
- Spices Soho Rd
- Broadway in Aston not far from Villa park

This dark kitchen opened recently near town not been though:

Looks decent.

There used to a place called Roosters, it was a drive through also located behind a petrol station on the Stratford road towards Shirley . This place had the most succulent & crispy spicy chicken burgers ! Shame it’s closed now .

I now go random places but will only buy fried chicken if it’s fried in front of me . After an hour it’s never the same .

Ah I had always wanted try that! a shame, we only have a big john’s and dixy drive thru now, both inconsistent especially the latter.

That’s the best way to go and especially with donner meat to; fresh cut or time to walk out!

Donor has to be the premium meat , too many use the cheap stuff now . There is some type of home made black donner meat, ever tried it?

Not tried it, is that 100% beef? that must be amazing.

Btw be careful with a lot of the folk selling smash burgers out of huts, unless the burger has been smashed properly / has the crispy edges, it is most likely they’ve used lamb.

I made 100g lamb burgers at home which I smashed (was a lot tougher) and it tasted similar but better than all the food trucks, but it just confirmed to me that they use lamb mostly. Beef on the other hand is easier to smash/flatten and get those crispy edges, meat and eat in wolverhampton do the best burgers, once you try theirs you know who has been fooling customers etc

Beef is just next level alhamdulilla

I think it’s mainly a northern thing , I’ll try next time I’m there .

A burger has to be top quality beef . I prefer one large Pattie 1/2lb with cheese & tomato . Smash burgers can sometimes break up as they’re thin . It really depends who makes them, undercooked often happens in busy places

If you ever go to the Middle East esp GCC definitely try a quality beef burger place, even if it’s a western franchise. It’s night and day in terms of quality.

Some of the best beef burgers I’ve had were in Doha. And this is around 2010-2013, before it was as developed as is today. Now there’s even more solid food spots there than ever before.

They do not play around when it comes to portion sizes too lol.

I am more of a meat eater rather than a vegetarian. I eat meat because I like it. Protein is necessary for the human body and some protein enzymes useful for humans can only be found in meat.

💯! I’ve been to a few GCC countries , quality of burgers has been top notch! Beef is my favourite on a burger but I do like a camel 🐪 burger 🍔 too :inzi

Here is a photo I sent to a friend of the last camel burger I ate in Dubai . I’m feeling this for iftar but no place in the midlands .

What is the most rare part of meat you’ve ate ?

It would have to be brain for me , was rather nice .

ugh why did I see this during my roza.

It’s gorgeous.

It’s a unique taste , tastes like mutton & beef mixed . Not tough at all , very juicy & extremely tender . Added spicy , lemon juice wedges to complement. Camel meat is underrated
Do you ask for it to be done medium, or medium rare etc just like when you order a beef burger?

It’s a bit overrated ngl. You’ll see massive queues outside, in one location I saw a guy wait for 30 minutes lmao (for fast food btw, it’s not some 5 star place).

But after Umrah you are insanely hungry so it tastes amazing then.

KFC in Middle East is PEAK KFC. Western KFC pales in comparison. GCC Zinger is a certified fast food ATG.

I eat beef several times a week...
has to be organic and grass fed..
For its anti inflammatory properties

Couldn't do without meat

why do i eat meat, cos its tasty and humans have eaten it for all of recorded history without any negative effects. ive tried meat alternatives out of curiosity, nothing quite hits the spot like a medium rare patty in a beef half pounder, mmmm. the juices, the warmth, the absorption of the flavours around it, its like a comforting hug from an old friend.

Do you ask for it to be done medium, or medium rare etc just like when you order a beef burger?

Burgers unlike steak are usually well done in the uk. the Arabs prefer well done , so no asking , just order .

I’m sure the meat various depending on the animal itself . The nomadic camels rather than mass bred ones seem the highest quality . In Jinn Valley I was given fresh camel milk from a new mother , it was so tasty , 3 cups went down a treat .

Vegetarians have never had a food orgasm. I’ve never been breathless with palak, saag or any other veg dish unless there’s some chicken in it.

If there’s any vegetarian in Glasgow, make your way to Chillies West End, and grab yourself some butter chicken.

Because it tastes great.

A juicy beef patty on a soft bun, it's got that godly taste, straight from the heavens!!!

Bhaijaan, do real Sanatanis eat meat, or is it strictly naan-veg for them? :inti

I love a steak with sauté vegetables around it on a hot plate...
Just chicken and mutton for me. You offer me KFC fried and crispy chicken 3 times a day, everyday for a year, you'll hear no complaints from me.

Till this day I haven't figured out how people who grow up eating non veg suddenly turn veg after a certain age. You are raised a vegetarian, fine. But how do you quit it after you grow up eating it?

Same here brother...same here... FRIED CHICKEN all the way.

have you heard about SHINWARI LAMB

Another thing, I don't understand how Pakistanis have developed this concept that Hindus are vegetarians? I come from a Hindu family from both sides, and I became a born again Christian in 2004. My entire family from both sides are non vegetarians. In fact you'll barely find Assamese people who are vegetarians. It's almost akin to finding vegetarians among Muslims.

No, I haven't. While mutton in my state is extremely popular, chicken reigns supreme in restaurants because mutton is costly here. I don't usually order mutton from restaurants, my mother cooks it at home for us.

I think it is typical Pakistani dish not available in other countries. Check out shinwari charsi (NAME OF THE DISH) and you will know what I am talking about

My older brother tried quite a few Pakistani restaurants while he was in the UK. He still speaks about them. Sachin Tendulkar mentioned in his book that nothing tastes better than Pakistani food. In fact he mentioned that he once gained around 4 kgs when he toured Pakistan because he couldn't resist himself.
