Too young to retire
Our guys at 30 are infact 34( and mostly rubbish) and thats why they give all 30yr old guys a bad name. He is at peak and 4 100s in a WC would suggest that have it badly wrongIt's not too young. It's the tail end of a sports career.
Only in Pakistan do they make their debuts at 30![]()
That face doesn’t seem to care
Why is he retiring @ age of 30 from ODIs?? No idea how many ODIs SA will play in next 2-3 years
Without his 4 centuries South Africa wouldn’t have made the semifinals to begin with. It is funny when people pretend that failing in World Cup knockouts cancels out everything that you have done earlier in the World Cup.His 4 centuries gone into the drain with a meek show when it mattered. And dropped a crucial chance at the end as well. So much for being termed as world class.
Yes QdK is on par with Madhushanka as two world class players on show this tournament. No one has doubted that.Without his 4 centuries South Africa wouldn’t have made the semifinals to begin with. He is a brilliant WK batsman. Anyone who thinks he is not world class has no idea what he is talking about. If he is not world class then no WK batsman is.
De Kock has been a world class WK batsman for a decade now. One of the best ever and the best South Africa has ever had.Yes QdK is on par with Madhushanka as two world class players on show this tournament. No one has doubted that.
It is funny indeed how some fans just throw in the dustbin the performance and effort a player throughout his career just because he/his team failed in KO's. I guess then Brian Lara or Shoaib Akhtar's records don't matter as they were unsuccessful in KO's most of the time but since Mohd Hafeez starred in K'O his star value is above them
Lara and Akhtar are not odi atgs for that reason. There is no difference between him and Gilchrist. He had the potential to be the next Gilchrist, but mentally weak, and too soft.

Quinton de Kock scored a blazing 50 off 26 balls in the Abu Dhabi T10 League tonight icluding 4 massive sixes.
Is quinton de kock playing in this world cup? Or did he retire from all form of cricket?Brilliant innings from Quinton de Kock! He scored 54 runs off 38 balls against PBKS in IPL 2024.
This marks his 21st IPL half-century. De Kock continues to be one of the most underrated players in the IPL, displaying consistent performances every season.
does not matter.... he is playing lots and lots of leagues...easy money. His star seems to be crashing down quickly after his premature international retirement.
Failed in IPL. Scoring runs in MCL won't be enough for him to keep getting picked in leagues.does not matter.... he is playing lots and lots of leagues...easy money.
He is a dangerous t20 player. He will get picked somehow.Failed in IPL. Scoring runs in MCL won't be enough for him to keep getting picked in leagues.

His franchise T20 career was also dwindlingSouth African Men’s selection panel has named the squads for the upcoming all-format tour of Pakistan as well as the one-off T20 International (T20I) against Namibia.
Quinton de Kock has been added to both T20I squads as well as the ODI squad. The 32-year-old wicketkeeper, who retired from 50-over cricket at the conclusion of the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup 2023, has reversed his retirement, citing his desire to represent the Proteas across both white-ball formats.
It's great news.Bad news for PK lol. This guy gives everyone nightmares when he's onsong
Yep. Pooran has done well but I think he will make a U turn before 2027 World CupNicholas Pooran will also return I think
2026 WC tooYep. Pooran has done well but I think he will make a U turn before 2027 World Cup
No chance. Will he be back in test cricket as well?
Probably realized you need to be an active international player to be amongst the most in demand.Quinton de Kock gone after making 54(43) for LSG against CSK. Not a brisk inning but vital in the context of the game.
Agreed. Also nice PFP mateGood to see he reversed his decision. He is a good player. He belongs in international cricket (not trashy franchise leagues).
Agreed. Also nice PFP mate
