I’m leaving Mitchell Johnson out because of potential cheating therefore inflated rating
Steyn= 8
Anderson= 8
Harris= 7
Philander= 8
Broad= 6
Morkel= 7
Bonus..
Rabada= 9
Johnson was hardly a reverse swing bowler. And its not like Steyn hasn't benefited from his team mates messing with the ball.

You could say that if one was to make 2 fast bowling attacks, each with four fast bowlers, how many/who from those listed in the OP would get ahead of any of those listed in bold in the post quoted above. I would say none.Well all I can say is if Anderson and Broad are rated 8/9 out of 10, then the likes of Marshall, Holding, Lillee, Imran, Wasim, Waqar, Ambrose, Donald would have to be at least 14/15 out of 15 , given the gulf in class.
No disrespect to these modern bowlers but today's standard of fast bowling compared to 80s and 90s is like comparing park/ club level cricket with international cricket.. eg, even club cricketers can take 300 wickets and break all time records if you rebrand club cricket as test cricket.

Dale Steyn - 9.5
James Anderson -7.5
Ryan Harris - 7
Vernon Philander - 8
Stuart Broad - 7.5
Mitchell Johnson - 9
Morne Morkel - 9
Morne a 9 with 8 5-fers in 83 matches?
If Morne is a 9, then SA would have been an undisputed team given they had four great batsmen and 2 more great bowlers over the years and some more good players.
Also, Johnson a 9?![]()
