Ravi Shastri retained as the Head Coach of the Indian men's cricket team

Bharat Arun? Really?

Even if he was willing, PCB will never ever sign an Indian fast bowling coach.

Wrong. There is no such thing as ego involved here, the guy is leagues ahead of Waqar Younis or any pretender the PCB are thinking to hire as the bowling coach. This is why a guy like Wasim Khan is important as an administrator, as he wouldn’t care much about cliches such as Indians cannot be fast bowling coaches.

I would even take Munaf Patel as a bowling coach over Mohammad Asif if I had the option

The BCCI administration, Shah and Ganguly are determined to break the Kohli monopoly.

The first thing was to empower the selection committee to take decisions independent of what Kohli wants.

2nd step is to break the coaching monopoly. Except Arun none of the others are good enough for their roles. The past selection committee that chose Vikram Rathore( really!!!) and Sridhar are gone. So no chance of them getting re appointmen.

Shastri knows his time is up.

Sir the pakistan cricket community will eat pcb alive if they hire an Indian fast bowling coach. But there is no doubt that Arunnis very good.

PCB should look to hire Gillespie as the head coach.

Right now it looks like

Dravid,Zaheer are the next director and bowling coaches.

You seem to think Pakistanis are filled with hatred for Indian professionals . They will and always respect great Indian cricketers and coaches. All the true cricket lovers of Pakistan admire the work Arun has done with the Indian seamers, and he will have a large pool of bowlers to work with in Pakistan as well.

It’s a long shot, it will not happen currently but it could have happened 15 years ago

PCB will gladly hire a Dravid, but a Fast bowling coach from India. I doubt that will ever happen.

Without a doubt Bharat Arun's tenure was exceptional with almost every single Indian pacer achieving his prime or optimal level one way or another under him.

3rd step is removing Kohli from captaincy after some time.

Ravi Shastri has been Indian's best coach, winning tours against Aus in Oz, Eng in Eng and Saf in Saf. This is Shastri's Team India, feared by everyone.

He is good. No doubt. If PCB hires him, it will be a very interesting move. But they will have to pay top dollar.

Third step will happen if Kohli loses a home series
Losses in away series like the England one going now is a test for Rahane and Pujara. Kohli will survive this one even if he doesn't perform

BCCI’s top brass-President, Vice President and Secretary—have landed in England and they will stay there till the second Test ends at Lord’s. The media is now reporting that among their top agenda is a brief discussion with head coach Ravi Shastri as his tenure ends just after T20 World Cup in UAE.

Shastri took over from Anil Kumble back in 2017 especially at a time when the team was going through a turmoil. His bio-data as a coach got a massive boost with wins in Australia twice and some memorable performances in South Africa and England.

“Too early to talk about this, but as you are aware the president, secretary, treasurer, and vice-president are landing in London today. So they will interact with Shastri and the team and discuss various things around the tour and future of Indian cricket. If there is much to the topic of Shastri not looking to continue, it will surely be discussed over the course of the Lord’s Test. But I would still say too early,” the source said as quoted by ANI.

I don't think PCB will have any problem in hiring him but will BCCI allow him to go to Pakistan? BCCI might as well cancels his indian citizenship. What about the safety of his family in India? As soon as he signs a contract with PCB people in India will start calling him a traitor. :inti

Pakistan is a very risky team to coach. Bharat Arun is a decent coach but in recent years our bowlers have good strength and conditioning, train better, maintain better diets and there seems to be a better grassroots structure in place. Bharat Arun's job is to essentially help make bowling plans and find out a way to execute them not work on bowling fundamentals. That is done at NCA and other places. If he dies take up the coaching job and fails to turn low IQ bowlers into Wasims and Waqars, he'll face a lot of backlash and it will be a black mark on his resume

Ravi is great cricketing fighter, remember when Duncan Fletcher was messing up and he came on board and changed things.

Wish Pak had a cricketing person with equal thought process and attitude. As captain Miandad was but all these ex-players lose it when it comes to coaching....

Ravi is a winner!!!
