Hah ! They got dominated. Dolphins chasing only 97 for victory. :( unless :afridi opens, no fireworks today.

AAK cannot be ignored any longer.

Sohail Khan isn't playing today. Really hope he isn't injured.

Anwar Ali mainly bowled out swingers rather than the banana inswingers. NOT a one trick pony

No, they've rested key players for more important matches since they have nearly qualified and the Rhinos suck lol. Alam is also being rested today.

Karachi in trouble, two down.

Pls add all updates on this thread.

I was mighty impressed with Junaid Khan. He's a tall, built left arm bowler who mainly angles the ball away but also has the in-swinger, which he used to great effect against Khurram Manzoor who got out LBW to him first ball. The most impressive thing about him is the nip he gets off the pitch -- he was getting steepling bounce from a length.

Shahid Gore-Man in :D

22/3 -- Dolphins in massive trouble.

Is he better than wahab?

Easa - others - pls post score updates as often as possible - many thanks.

Who determines who is in what team in this tournament. Is it based on where they live. IF not how come poor Abbottabad got no decent players.

Theres the victory then for Dolphins again. Afridi isnt doing too bad so far in the tournament. Captaincy has made him think a bit more about his batting i think

Rizwan Ahmed from the Hawks is a pretty good player. Got another 50 today against the Stallions.

He is the same leggie who played one ODI recently.

Rather sedate innings from Afridi I must say..Maybe he realised that he needed to hang around not "maar dhor".

Just saw Akhtar bowl today. 2 overs. He wasnt the same as he was against Peshawar. He looked short on pace today. Even worse he wasnt even running in, he clearly is not in rhythem and is short on match practice.

To be honest, he doesnt merit a place in the toronto tournament as the likes of Talha, Anwar Ali have done slightly better. The mistakes of the past must not be repeated. Akhtar goes no where near the national side till he has proven his fitness, stamina and form in domestic games.

2 overs for 5 runs so far including a maiden. Not the worst figures in the world.

And with KHI Doplhins winning again today, they join the Sialkot Stallions in the semi finals.

In group C, any one of the 3 teams could still qualify, but if Multan beat Islamabad in the ongoing match, then it will be Multan that qualify.

In group D the winners of the match later today between Rawalpindi and Lahore Lions will qualify for the semi finals.

131 for 7 now with 4 deliveries remaining. The legend Rao Ifthikar with 2 wickets.

Dont know maybe Akhtar was deliberately bowling within himself. But even i am getting a few jitters looking at his weight. I dont know why do people not question him about his hippopotamus physique in interviews.

Multan: 141/8 in 20 overs

Shoiab Maqsood - 44
Saeed Anwar - 34
Bilal Khiljee- 24

Shoiab Akhtar: 4 overs 1 maiden 18 runs 1 wkt
Iftekhar 36/2
Imad 25/2

Islamabad needs to play fast to qualify for SEMI FINAL's

Yes, if ISL do win, it will come down to net run rate I guess in this group as all 3 teams will have 1 win and 1 loss.

Sorry guys -- I haven't been updating the score regularly because I'm not watching the matches.

As soon as the big games start back up again, I'll try my best to give ball-by-ball updates, best I can :)

It is determined by where the players live. If they are good quality players and their cities don't have a team, they play for the nearest team.

By the way, Afridi made 26 runs off 22 balls, not 24 :127:

Seems like a mistake on the PCB site!

I hate this match...........Very very boring

So Afridi Vs Akhtar.Somehow being an Afridi Fan, this doesn't feel good to me.

MoYo run out once again!
his performance in 3 T20 matches wont buy him a place in squad for Toronto!
what say?

Well let me describe mohd amer for all of u....

Very fast... very athletic and very hungry for wickets.

UFONE LL 69/4 after 10.1

3 wickets to aamer... one acrobatic runout on his own bowling by aamer and guess who got runout....Mohd yusuf

arafat was very disappointing though... but i'm sure he'll be back with a cracking second spell.

Tano as usual bowling some unplayable deliveries in the first 2 overs... i'm sure he wont be able to do the same in the 2nd spell

LL's strength is their batting, they dont have bowling to defend par total, lets see how it unfolds

Karachi Dolphins win third straight

Cricinfo staff

October 6, 2008

Kamran Younis and Shoaib Malik hit brisk half-centuries to seal an eight-wicket Hyderabad Hawk win over the Sialkot Stallions in Lahore. Hyderabad lost two early wickets, including Naeemuddin first ball, in pursuit of 144 but Younis and Malik sealed the win with five balls remaining. Younis made an unbeaten 65 off 56 balls and Malik warmed up for next week's quadrangular Twenty20 tournament in Canada with 61 not out from 46 balls. Their partnership was worth 113. The Sialkot innings revolved around Rizwan Ahmed's unbeaten 57 and 36 from opener Taj Wasan. Malik took 1 for 24 earlier. Sialkot lead Group B with two wins from two games.

In a low-scoring affair in Lahore, the Karachi Dolphins beat the Abbottabad Rhinos by six wickets. Offspinner Tahir Khan (2 for 14) and medium-pacer Faraz Ahmed (3 for 15) helped keep Abbottabad to 96 for 9, and Karachi smoothed over a top-order collapse. Asfar Nawaz remained till the end on 33 from 35 balls and Shahid Afridi played a cameo of 26. Victory was achieved in the 17th over. This was Karachi's third win in a row and they lead Group A.

Another six-wicket win in Lahore, this one for the Faisalabad Wolves against the Lahore Eagles. Five of six Faisalabad bowlers used took wickets to keep Lahore to a poor 106 before wicketkeeper Mohammad Salman (41 from 42 balls) and Khurram Shehzad (32 from 22) steered the successful chase.

Keeping with the day's trend, the Islamabad Leopards also won by six wickets, handing the Multan Tigers another defeat in Lahore. Contributions from Sohaib Maqsood (41), Saeed Anwar jnr (34) and Bilal Khilji (26) took Multan to 141 for 8. It was not enough, as Umair Khan (37) and Bazid Khan (25) rallied the top order before a destructive 42 from just 18 balls by captain Ashar Zaidi completed the denouement in 17.2 overs. Zaida hit five fours and a couple of sixes at a strike-rate of 233.3.

Lahore Lion's in deep trouble now...5 down with Umar Akmal run out for a duck! Might have been a mix up with his elder brother Kamran! :)))

Mohammad Aamer being the main destroyer for LL with taking 3 wickets and contributing in Moyo's run out! 4 wickets to his name!

So the Semis so far are

Afridi XI Vs Akhtar XI

What abt the other one?

Malik's Galli, Muhallah, Friends & Relatives XI will play the winner of RR & LL match

This guy Waqas Ahmed is providing some lusty blows here...3 sixes and 1 four in his 8 ball innings of 22 so far!

Why isn't Yasir Arafat into the attack as of yet? In the last match he bowled first up and now 15 overs gone and no sign of him yet!
