"Ready to give everything in World Cup 2019" : Mohammad Hafeez

He should’ve walked away as CT winner with great wee knock in the final too !! The script was perfect to call it quits especially with the emergence of 3 all rounders in Shadab,Faheem & Talat but now this drama will carry on for another year or so & in my view Talat out of the 3 could be held back because of this which should not happen.
 
The only problem is your “everything” is less than most of the current players’ “something”.

Both Haris and Talat should be in playing X1 till world cup. I mean rather than Hafeez uncle we should give Haris and Talat match time so that they go in world cup with international matches under their belt.

Both Malik and Hafeez should be dropped for good. Malik's
performance in New Zealand was worse than Hafeez's.
 
Hafeez and Malik have got to go if Pakistan is serious about winning the WC in ENG next year.

Hafeez is not needed in Pakistan team. They have enough good batsman and all rounders.

He is going to make a comeback for sure. He has passed the test and is ready to bowl and according to Mickey Arthur, he would want that combination from Hafeez.

Jokes aside. Talat and Harris look set to become regular ODI fixtures and together they can even fill the void of hafeez the bowler

Bhie give everything to your family time, money and sincerity.Pakistani team is capable of playing without you. Gone are the days of "senior player" now we need young and consistent player. We have enough all rounders to fill in your deficiency. Also you belong to the era of Akmals, Butts and Malik. The era where team depicted very negativity and every player played for survival and for themselves. You belong to the era of loosing mentality and have been a part of loosing many world cups so you may be a bad omen for 2019 Worldcup. Honest advise play leagues around the world and make a decent leaving. You were always short of international class and that is why you were inconsistent. Your family needs you give them time.
 
Imagine a scenario in 1st April 2011 - this guy is dropped for good for that scoop against Munaf and Haris, then U23, is brought in the XI, bats at 3, bowls a bit SLAO spin and professional coaches/trainers working on his fitness, knee ....... we could have seen a PAK batsman with 10K+ international runs at 40+ average by now!!! And, that's not being a laughing stalk outside Asia. May be, this could be true for Amin as well - no reason why given an unconditional run of 35 innings in top 3, won't get the best out of such a silky timer, with great touch.

Honestly if it's between Malik and Hafeez I would go with Hafeez.
 
The statement would suggest he hasn't been giving his everything up untill now.

Which begs the question why hasn't he?

And then is his "everything" even good enough?
 
Unfortunately, he didn't even have the grace to include the crucial words "IF SELECTED". As usual, the standard seniority attitude of expecting rather then earning. Please Micky - GET RID of both him and Malik. The best thing MA has done is to remove the likes of Akmals, Shezad, Wahab, Hafeez (tests). Now finish the job.

I wouldn't play Malik nor Hafeez in the world cup next year. My ideal team for world cup 2019 :

1. Fakhar Zaman
2. Imam ul Haq
3. Babar Azam
4. Talat Hussain

6. Faheem Ashraf
7. Imad Wasim
8. Shadab Khan
9. Amir
10. Hassan Ali

I take it that Professor is selling all his belongings and sending Pakistanis to watch the WC in England. That's a grand gesture from Professor.:salute
 
He is gonna say that isn't he? Not sure why people are shocked. Whether he's actually selected is a completely different matter.

But I do think he should have retired after CT 2017 final, he played a key role.
 
The PCB sent a wrong signal by helping him clear his action once again. Ideally, he should have been clearly told that there is no place for him in this young team and that he should call it a day. But now after clearing the test, he considers himself entitled for selection and will greatly hamper our chances in the WC19.

- Question marks about number 2 (Imam) and Third Specialist Seamer (number 11). Hopefully Imam will carry on improving and make the slot his own. Please don't play Azhar.

- Third Seamer is the dilemma. Junaid is the only viable option currently but we are a whole year away. Can someone press their case better? I am hoping that someone can emerge out of the blue.

- The other concern is entrusting 10 overs to Faheem. Talat and Haris can share the load but a specialist would help. I am hoping Faheem can cement his place with BOTH his bowling and batting. Otherwise, I would play Imad instead of Faheem.

- Unfortunately, a fit and bowling Hafeez gives that 5th bowler option but I really don't want to go there.

- Let's hope the team stays fit and carrys on improving. That is the key.

- Hopefully, one or two other names can emerge out of the blue and challenge?

I wouldn’t purely for the reason that his ego is way bigger than Malik. Malik is happy to play where the team wants him to. Professor makes a fuss each time, has to be dragged kicking and screaming down the order

Give this team an extended run for a year and watch them rise to top 3 in ODI rankings. Perfect mix of attack and defence and a gun bowling attack. Deep batting lineup too.

No need for Malik/Hafeez.
 
He's bound to come back in the line-up soon. He can bowl again and Mickey also rates his fitness. The reckoning is coming :hafeez2

he shouldn't open or be at 3
he was a 5/6 batsman
 
We're finally starting to see a settled progressive team. The last thing we need is to take huge step backwards by picking Hafeez and Malik. Both of whom should have been dropped a long time ago when their lack of performances started affecting the team dynamic.
 
If you want to rest Shadab. Play Hafeez.

Shoaib is a big NO/NO because he can’t bowl.

Hafeez can match the batting of Malik if not better. Hafeez is much fitter than Sarfaraz, he is much fitter than Babur Zaman!!

This guy wouldn't even be discussed if Haris was selected after 2011 WC which he should have been.
 
His performances in the Pakistan Cup and the PSL were very average

I wouldn't select him even if we go by merit

Yes but he hit a sensational 100+SR 81* innings vs New Zealand against a world class attack of Boult, Southee and Santner earlier on in the year and has booked his spot for 2019 WC....
