The Pakistan kit is awesome btw, simple but looks really nice

DAV College,Chandigarh 170/8 (20 ov) beat Karachi University 121(19 ov) by 49 runs at Colombo to win the Red Bull Campus Cricket World Final

Well played both the teams...:14:

India-Pakistan final. That's the ultimate finish for any cricket tournament across all levels and formats. And when an upstart like the Red Bull Campus Cricket gets the dream final, that's the best they could have hoped and prayed for.

The final, unlike other contests between the
arch rivals, was though played out in front of empty stands, it did have some shades of the well documented rivalry as DAV College Chandigarh beat Karachi University by 49 runs to emerge champions.

The final got interesting as soon as it started with India losing three wickets for just two runs on the board. DAV couldn't have had a worse start, yet they ended up posting 170 run total that eventually turned out to be a winning total. Much of the credit for this stunning recovery goes to DAV captain Kunal Mahajan who hammered sizzling 73, studded with seven sixes, in just 36 balls. Gurinder Singh, the vice captain of the side, chipped in with valuable 39 runs.

The bowlers came up with a more consistent performance to keep Pakistan under pressure right from the start. The DAV attack, spearheaded by left arm spinner Gurinder Singh who picked up for wickets conceding just 20 runs, struck regularly and eventually cut short Pakistan's chase at 121. Jaskaran Singh, the aggressive wicketkeeper batsman, and Gurinder Singh, with his consistent allround performance, have been the star performers for DAV Chandigarh in this competition. Gurinder was adjudged man of the series for his consistently good showing through the tournament.

Seams like Pakistan's batting failed again as usual...:P

A very interesting thing about this match was that Sharjeel Khan didn't bowl a single over and came out to bat at number 11; also he is Pak captain.

His tournament records are even more interesting scored 2 runs and bowled 2 overs, and again he is the captain. whats going on? :20:

I don't know if ppers know about this ongoing tournament in India. Pakistan is represented by Government Jinnah College Karachi who won the national red bull campus cricket tournament earlier in June.

8 campuses from Australia, England, Sri Lanka, South Africa, Bangladesh along with India and Pakistan will compete against each other for the trophy. The teams are divided in 2 groups. All matches will by played in Dehradun.

The tournament is already on it's way with India, Sri Lanka and England winning their matches. Today is the 1st big match for Pakistan against a competent side of Sri Lanka.

With the present situation in India, I'm worried about the security of our boys :(. Let's hope our boys can put up a good show under tense and critical situation.

You can follow Red Bull Campus Cricket official page of facebook for update. Below is a pic for current standings after the 1st day. Enjoy!

Read this on twitter. Is this true?!

"And it's a weird Pakistan side this. 20 overs bowled, seven bowlers used.... All of them spinners! "

Yups. They don't have a fast bowler in their squad.

Off topic, Pak team may be the youngest team in the tournament if we go by average age.

Backbone of Government Jinnah College Shahzar and Saeed are out on 23 and 20 respectively. Alot dependant on the last recognized pair of Qadir Khan and Amit Ravi. 54/3 in 9 overs.

Good luck Pakistan!

Where can we see the live score? Or if u can update with time! Shall be thankful!

Your lucky there is no highschool championship :rahi. Last time SL represented a college with 1000 students last time, so this isn't better.

LOL! School cricket in SL, IND and SA are damn good. Emphasis upon school cricket is next to none.

And glad to know we had won in June! Wow!

That was for the selection in pakistan to get a team which can represent us on the higher level. Around 256+ colleges and campuses participated from the whole country. Government Jinnah College Karachi won the tournament and booked themselves to compete against world campuses. This is the ultimate challenge. Pakistan may have the weakest team after UAE and Bangladesh.

LOL! School cricket in SL, IND and SA are damn good. Emphasis upon school cricket is next to none.

Considering 13 out of 15 members of the 96 WC winning SL team represented 4 school says much. I don't know how school system else where is but in SL it is very competitive and very limited. It is kind of like the NCAA before entering the NBA draft. The only down negative thing is that if you aren't naturally talented it is hard to get into the team afterwards. I think the quality has come down a bit in SL since more school got decent amount of funding so the quantity increased but the quality went down.

DEHRADUN: As the Shiv Sena in Mumbai disrupted India-Pakistan cricket talks, many kilometres away in Uttarakhand, a team of cricketers from Karachi, here for the World Campus Cricket meet, were bowled over by the hospitality they received in Dehradun.

A team of 11 cricketers from Government Jinnah College, Karachi, representing Pakistan in the World Campus Cricket World Finals here, said that sports should not be mixed with politics and it should not mar cricketing ties between the neighbouring countries. "We are extremely happy to be here. Things are completely opposite to what we perceived before coming here. We have been treated warmly since we landed here on Monday," 23-year-old Faizan Khan, captain of the Pakistan team, told TOI.
Faizan, who adores Virat Kohli, thinks that Sachin Tendulkar is an all-time undisputed king of world cricket. "I like Kohli in the present Indian squad, but Sachin was something else. Nobody can match his class," he said.

The team also have two Hindu brothers - Ram Ravi and Amit Ravi. The brothers, who got admission in the Government Jinnah College through the sports quota, aim to play for the Pakistan cricket team in the future. "Sports is the religion of sportspersons and they should be left to play the game. We want cricketing ties between the two countries to resume," said 16-year-old Ram Ravi.

The team members who cannot stop gloating about the hospitality they have received in the hill state said the process of obtaining visas should be made easier for sportsmen.

"We got our tickets just a day before our first match in the tournament," said the team's opening batsman, Shahzar Hasan adding that only the playing eleven got their visas with the coach or support staff unable to accompany the team in the wake of strict visa regulations.

The team members were upset over former players and Pakistan commentators, Wasim Akram and Shoaib Akhtar, pulling out of the India-South Africa series over security concerns arising out of the Sena threat. Upset over his team's defeat at the hands of Sri Lanka in their maiden match, Amit Ravi said: "We were stronger than Sri Lanka and lost the match due to our own mistakes. We will bounce back and try to win our next match against South Africa on Wednesday."

Eight countries battle for Red Bull Campus T20 World Cup 2017

The stage is set for the Red Bull Campus Cricket (RBCC) World Cup which is scheduled to get underway in Sri Lanka for the second time where eight of the best college teams will be in action to battle for supremacy from today onwards which is slotted to end on September 16.

The eight teams have made their way to contest at the RBCC World Cup which is the fifth in the series which began in 2012 after having undergone strenuous competition and won their respective qualifying tournaments played in their own country.

The Red Bull Cricket Campus was initiated with the aim of providing a platform for young talented player to the world stage to make their way into professional cricket without having to give up college education, so now it has become popular and a much looked forward to event.

Not to mention the tournament has been a turning point for some cricketers who are looking to hone their skills and it has been a stepping stone for some of them to represent their national team.

The previous editions of the RBCC World Cup saw top class players being produced in the likes of K.L. Rahul of India, Niroshan Dickwella and Dasun Shanaka from Sri Lanka -- with all three of them representing their respective countries in the just concluded Sri Lanka vs India Test, ODI series and T20 encounters.

Tournament director and former Sri Lanka cricketer Brendon Kuruppu said that "There's nothing quite like a high-intensity tournament to test and bring out the hidden talent of developing cricketers, and that's exactly what the Campus Cricket World Final is about.

He added "You learn and improve from playing against the best. This tournament is a wonderful opportunity for players to pick each other's brains and share their own knowledge on the game, while also showing the world what they've got."

Pakistan Advance to the Final Match of Red Bull Campus Cricket World Finals

DUBAI, 2 NOVEMBER 2019: Still riding high from yesterday’s defeat of arch-rivals India, Pakistan played like a squad determined to make the finals and outclassed a scrappy Sri Lanka side in a 9 run victory on the way to 187 runs overall. The win puts Pakistan in the finals of the 2019 Red Bull Campus Cricket tournament and a chance to seek the ultimate glory of raising the winner’s trophy.

Man of the Match Mahmood Ali pushed Pakistan from the start, leading a balanced attack at the crease with 23 runs and providing outstanding fielding when the team needed it the most. Ali also was the star against India the day prior when he punished India with a big bat and hopes to keep this trend going in the finals against South Africa.

“Sri Lanka played brilliant cricket today but I’m happy that we got the victory,” Ali said. “South Africa will be a tough opponent in the finals but we are ready for the challenge. Maybe the best team wins, maybe not but we’ll go out and give our best.”

The Energizer Over again proved to be an Achilles heel for Pakistan as they failed to capitalize for the 2nd straight match. In what should be an opportunity to pad their run totals, they instead were bowled out which automatically staked Sri Lanka to a 5 run start on their chase. The Energizer Over is a unique element to Red Bull Campus Cricket where teams can select one over where every run is double in value and adds an additional strategic element to each match.

Launched in 2012 with just over 800 participants, Red Bull Campus Cricket has grown steadily, with the number of participants increasing year-on-year, reaching over 8,000 athletes in total. It has fast cemented its status as an important competition for aspiring cricketers currently in university - all players within a team must be affiliated with their own university or college.

Not only does the tournament provide teams with professional cricketing experience, Red Bull Campus Cricket also offers a once in a lifetime opportunity for upcoming cricket athletes to gain recognition and further their career.

Pakistan's University of Karachi competed with South Africa's University of Pretoria for the Red Bull Campus Cricket Trophy in a thrilling match.

Pakistan ended up losing the game to South Africa making it to the second place in Red Bull Campus Cricket Tournament.

Pushing Pakistan from the start, Muhammad Asad dominated the bowling attack, by picking Jiveshen Pilley and Francios Van Heerden's wicket in the first over, but couldn't win the game.

Prior to this, Pakistan had beaten India, making it to the semi-final and then outclassed Sri Lanka to make it to the final.
