As many of us suspected, this was never going to be the case and behind the scenes it will still be Misbah with the final say. And that has been proven to be true on this tour based on the recent statements.

According to Waqar Younis Misbah still is the real boss and has the final say.

Doesn't matter what Waqar has to say.

When PCB, the boss itself, is saying they have curtailed mIsbah and Babar has final say, than why not trust them.

Unless Babar himself says Misbah has more control, other peoples opinion like Waqar's means nothing.

Babar does have final say as Usman Qadir is a type of bowler Misbah would never have played. Coach is giving its input.

Misbah as a Coach

Came across this comment on YouTube for the highlights of Islamabad vs Multan. More of less sums up everything for me:

"My team Islamabad united, used to do well
every season and finish in top 4 credit to dean
Jones, we didnt last season due to poor and
defensive mindset of misbah, now look how theyre
performing and despite resting half of the team
they're still performing iust like if its the main team"

What do you guys think? Should we be looking for a new coach to save Pakistan cricket?

Islamabad's performance without Misbah can't be ignored..

People will conjur up anything to have a dig at Misbah. Islu has always been a top team and has had only one bad season. The reason they're at the top is because Misbah laid solid foundations for the first 3 seasons. The core players and their strategy has remained the same for islu

You couldn’t be more wrong. They did well in spite of Misbah and he was constantly holding the team back. As a player he was not contributing at all towards the end. As a captain he dropped Babar and was the reason Babar ended up in Karachi. He then leeched on and even though he accepted a management position, stabbed islu in the back at the final moment re-entering the auction as a player.

Unfortunately due to being the head coach he could negotiate his way back to IU the next season as the coach and completely ruined the team. You can see how much better they are without him.

Revamp the management

After reading about YK (unnecessary misconduct) for the first time I realized the importance of Misbah Ul Haq.. But I think PCB has put him in totally wrong role of coach/selector

His calmness and thinking can be utilized in being a team manager/director where he can use his conversational skills to keep the team environment protected from bullies like YK, Shoaib Akhtar , Waqar Younis, etc. kind of characters


My proposed management :

Misbah : Team Director who oversee anti corruption, media, players and staff conduct. He will also be director of NCA who oversee infrastructure needed for players dev.
Andy Flower/ Mickey Arthur (looks like soon he will be available, after seeing SL performances) : Head Coach
Azhar Mahmood; at least better than WY : Bowling coach
Saqlain Mushtaq : Spin bowling consultant (we had too much with MA)
Hershelle Gibbs : Batting coach/consultant

PCB can give hundreds of statements without any impact on ground
