[REPORTS] PCB suspends player NOCs for overseas T20 leagues [Updated Post @ 45]

Pakistan cricketers need some kind of union , this is dictatorship and micro management of the highest order. Essentially telling the players that we own your livelihoods. This generally tends to happen when you have incompetent and small minded people at the helm of important institutions

Maybe they think PSL is enough for them.. Naqvi is ruling with iron fists, question is does he have the quality and dough to do the same?

If PCB don't let Babar and Rizwan play the BBL, I think that will be the end of Pakistani players in the BBL. Both Sydney Sixers and Melbourne Renegades signed these guys in advance and planned their seasons around them. Suspending Babar and Rizwan's NOCs when they aren't even in the T20 team would be an incredibly stupid and irresponsible move that PCB seriously needs to reconsider.

They will be released for the Big Bash league. PCB will not ruin relationships with Cricket Australia

Cricket Australia boss Todd Greenberg confident Pakistan headline acts will play BBL despite PCB ban

Cricket Australia remains hopeful it can find a resolution with the Pakistan Cricket Board after it banned its players from competing in overseas Twenty20 tournaments.

PCB chief operating officer Sumair Ahmad Syed issued players a notice on September 29, restricting them from competitions outside Pakistan.

It’s is a major blow to Cricket Australia and its Big Bash League clubs after Pakistani talent was the highlight of a successful draft.

Top-liners Babar Azam (Sydney Sixers), Shaheen Shah Afridi (Brisbane Heat) and Muhammad Rizwan (Melbourne Renegades) were all locked in for the upcoming season.

Cricket Australia boss Todd Greenberg is in contact with the PCB and remains confident the headline acts will feature this summer.

“We’ve been in contact with our colleagues at the PCB over the last few days, we’re hopeful we can find a resolution,” Greenberg said.

“We’re really looking forward to welcoming their players to the Big Bash, we think they’ll add great value … it will be a fascinating summer across the BBL, yeah.”

The BBL, and more specifically Sydney Thunder, received a boost when Indian megastar Ravichandran Ashwin signed last week.

Greenberg denies any integral issues with Ashwin’s arrival post draft and expects him to be a major drawcard.

“We’ve found provisions where we can make that work and all the clubs had equal opportunity to engage with him,” he said.

“It’s a big moment for the BBL to welcome Ravi here, I have been talking to him personally on a number of occasions.

“I have found him a breath of fresh air, I think our fans are going to really enjoy watching him play and engaging with him when he’s here for the BBL.

“He will probably and very likely draw a crowd bigger than (23,000, ENGIE Stadium’s capacity), but he’s got quite a few away games in some big stadiums, too.

“I don’t think we’re going to be short of people wanting to come and watch him play, that’s for sure.”

The PCB needs to introduce a platinum category contract for the top 4-5 players and pay them boatloads of money. Like 10x more than the next category.

That's the only way to stop them from playing low quality leagues and ruining their game.

The likes of Babar and Shaheen ought to be making at least Root or Cummins levels of money from their central contracts.

who are these top 4-5 players and what have they won for Pakistan?

who are these top 4-5 players and what have they won for Pakistan?
For example Saim Ay00b is number 1 all rounder on ICC T20 ranking and previously Babar and Rizwan were at the Top T20 ranking. These 3 players come to my mind who can be amongst those 4-5 top cricketers. These guys have star powers doesn't matter if they don't win. When they don't win, they learn.

These PCB internal tola will have a heart attack before they would be willing to give such a suggestion.

Even for the likes of Shaheen one small dip of performance and all the fans on social media and the meeting group will be on to the player to cancel their contract.

This is not a professional board and not a sensible fanbase.

Major plot twist in Pakistan's Big Bash ban threat

Crisis averted for Cricket Australia and the Big Bash who have secured an 11th hour reprieve on the Pakistan Cricket Board banning its players from competing overseas.

In September, PCB chief operating officer Sumair Ahmad Syed issued a notice to players that would forbid them to play in an international T20 franchise.

The news came as a monumental blow to CA and several clubs who has secured Pakistani talent for the forthcoming season.

The likes of Babar Azam (Sydney Sixers), Shaheen Shah Afridi (Brisbane Heat) and Muhammad Rizwan (Melbourne Renegades) were all locked in for the 2025-26 season.

SEN’s Tom Morris has confirmed a solution has been found and the ban has been overturned.

“About three weeks ago the Pakistan Cricket Board board emailed agents of star players to tell them no objections certificates would be on hold,” Morris said on SEN’s call of the ODI between Australia and India.

“Pakistan - like India - would not allow its players to play in the Big Bash or any franchise league outside of the country.

“This rocked the Big Bash, it rocked Cricket Australia with seven of the eight clubs having one Pakistan player.

“I’ve done more digging and I understand CA reached to the PCB on the issues and now they have clarified that these seven players will be allowed to play in the BBL and there is no material change.

“How it transpired behind the scenes? We might never know, but what we do know is the stars can play this summer.

“Imagine getting an email on September 29 to say they can’t play this season – absolute panic stations.

“Crisis averted.”

Even if they get NOC last minute, leagues will be vary of selecting Pak players in the future because of PCB shenanigans.

Rizwan should give PCB the middle finger stone cold style and announce his retirement so he doesn't require NOC and maximise his earnings through T20 franchise cricket
Maximise his earnings?

What did he get paid to play the CPL? His dodgy selection in the BBL also needs more clarity!

I think Rizwan is playing all of these leagues free of charge or at a very minimal rate at most.

So he is making a big issue over not getting the NOC even though he is getting paid little to no pay money in these t20 leagues? Kabhi toh akal ki baat kar liya kar. That's why your not taken seriously on here 🤣

He’s not making any issue, it was never an issue anyways 🤡

PCB suspended all NOCs to be handed out after AC, the previous ones issued were not to be affected. Which player was handed an NOC pre Asia cup and couldn’t fulfil his commitment due to PCB’s suspension policy?

As per reports, The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has granted No Objection Certificates (NOCs) to dozens of players including Mohammad Amir, Babar Azam, Fakhar Zaman, Naseem Shah, and Hassan Nawaz, allowing them to participate in foreign leagues such as the Abu Dhabi T10 League, the Dubai ILT20 League, and Australia's Big Bash League (BBL).

For the Abu Dhabi T10 League, players like Mohammad Amir, Azam Khan, Shahnawaz Dahani, Iftikhar Ahmed, and others received NOCs valid until November 25, 2025.For the Dubai ILT20 League (December 2 to January 4), Fakhar Zaman, Hassan Nawaz, and Naseem Shah were granted NOCs.Several top players including Babar Azam, Shaheen Afridi, Mohammad Rizwan, Haris Rauf, Shadab Khan, and Hassan Ali have also been cleared for the BBL which runs from December 14, 2025, to January 25, 2026.This policy marks a shift as PCB had previously restricted players from participation in foreign T20 leagues but now supports involvement to enhance player experience and exposure while balancing international commitments. This move reflects PCB's commitment to integrating players' participation in prestigious global franchise leagues alongside domestic and international duties

Pakistan's T20 captain, Salman Ali Agha, is the only centrally contracted player who has not received a No-Objection Certificate (NOC) to participate in overseas franchise leagues during the critical December-January period. This exclusion has sparked debate regarding his current form and his long-term role in Pakistan's shortest-format strategy.

Salman, who has led the national T20 side since December 2024, is conspicuously absent from all global leagues this winter. The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has clarified that this is not a disciplinary action but is instead a "reflection of the market.

Unlike Pakistan's other high-profile white-ball cricketers, Salman has reportedly failed to attract significant interest from franchise teams. Coaches and analysts have openly questioned his overall impact and the clarity of his role in T20 cricket. Consequently, with no team requesting his services, the PCB did not proceed with issuing an NOC.

PCB Approves NOCs for Other Players

Conversely, the Pakistan Cricket Board has granted NOCs to 12 national players to feature in various international leagues ahead of the T20 World Cup, which is scheduled to take place in India and Sri Lanka next year.

This winter, Pakistani cricketers are set to participate in the:

* Big Bash League (BBL) in Australia, featuring the nation's biggest stars, including Babar Azam, Shaheen Shah Afridi, Mohammad Rizwan, Shadab Khan, and Haris Rauf.

* Bangladesh Premier League (BPL), which has signed 11 Pakistani players.

* ILT20 in the UAE, where Fakhar Zaman, Naseem Shah, and Usman Tariq are confirmed participants.
Would you like to know more about Salman Ali Agha's recent performance or the specific dates for any of these T20 leagues?

Pakistan's T20 captain Salman Ali Agha has emerged as the lone contracted player not given clearance to participate in overseas franchise leagues during the crucial December–January window — raising questions about both his form and his future in Pakistan's shortest-format plans.
Salman, who has led Pakistan's T20 side since December 2024, stands out as the only centrally contracted player not playing in any league this winter. PCB sources say Salman's exclusion is not a disciplinary call — rather a reflection of the market.

Unlike Pakistan's top white-ball names, he has not attracted meaningful interest from franchise teams, with coaches and analysts questioning his impact value and role clarity in T20 cricket.

With no team seeking his services, the PCB did not process any NOC for Salman.

The BBL will host Pakistan's biggest names, including Babar Azam, Shaheen Shah Afridi, Mohammad Rizwan, Shadab Khan and Haris Rauf. The BPL has signed 11 Pakistan players, while Fakhar Zaman, Naseem Shah and Usman Tariq are confirmed for the ILT20.
what a weirdly worded article lol

he waasn't selected, nothing to do with board giving NOC.

No need to suspend Rizwan’s, no top league will want that fraud anyway, he can play in the local Masjid league though.

PCB know that he will fail in most leagues...then obviously people will question about his selection in national team..
That's why PCB doing this drama....in other words they are hiding him from being exposed..

Agha will play in Spanish t20 whenever it will be launched , fans should stay patient, till then NOC issue will be sorted

Agha will play in Spanish t20 whenever it will be launched , fans should stay patient, till then NOC issue will be sorted
Maybe Agha will fly over to Spain and also promote players who are accused of SA as well just like Rizwan did flying over to Nepal?

Maybe Agha should get his agent to get him registered for free with a franchise

A bit like Babar and Rizwan’s agent who’s been getting them undisclosed deals

@topspin @mominsaigol
No League wants a nobody like Agha with zero performances playing for their Franchise.

Rizwan, Babar and Shaheen have multiple performances for the national team hence got a prestigious contract for one of the best T20 tournaments in the world like the BBL. Their franchises hyping them up massively too and in a sensible world you have to take their hype seriously instead of the hate from Rana on a cricket forum. A dude whose entire daily routine revolves around belittling cricketers online

Agha’s crime is he doesn’t follow the Devdas Lewis Method :qdkcheeky
He certainly isn't following it, which is why his T20 strike rate is around 112.

He's following the Rani Lewis method, where intent and teamwork are everything.

:klopp :kp

You claimed there are 33 players in KPK who will bang Pakistan.

This is the biggest TOPI in the history of this forum. Aap rehne hi dain
Well I was wasn’t aware that you were looking for YK’s style proper ODI batting. That is a once in a generation talent! :yk2

AS PER REPORTS:
Several Pakistan cricketers are unlikely to feature for the full duration of the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) Season 12 due to national commitments. Sources indicate that Pakistan’s nationally contracted players, many of whom were picked by BPL franchises, are expected to miss significant portions of the tournament. The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) is considering withholding No-Objection Certificates (NOCs) for permanent members of the T20I squad, though no blanket refusal has been made, with requests to be assessed individually.

The BPL is scheduled from 26 December to 23 January, overlapping with Pakistan’s tour of Sri Lanka for a three-match T20I series on 7, 9, and 11 January in Dambulla, followed by a home T20I series against Australia at the end of January. These fixtures are part of Pakistan’s preparation for the ICC T20 World Cup 2026, co-hosted by Sri Lanka and India in February and March.

Franchises have already been informed of the limited availability of Pakistan players and may seek replacements. Among those selected for the BPL are Saim Ayub, Khawaja Nafay, Sufiyan Muqeem, Sahibzada Farhan, and Mohammad Nawaz, along with Jahandad Khan, Ihsanullah, Haider Ali, Usman Khan, Abrar Ahmed, and Mohammad Amir. Notably, Saim, Sahibzada, Nawaz, Usman, and Abrar are considered permanent members of Pakistan’s T20I set-up, making their full participation in the BPL even more uncertain.
