Pakistan cricketers need some kind of union , this is dictatorship and micro management of the highest order. Essentially telling the players that we own your livelihoods. This generally tends to happen when you have incompetent and small minded people at the helm of important institutions

If PCB don't let Babar and Rizwan play the BBL, I think that will be the end of Pakistani players in the BBL. Both Sydney Sixers and Melbourne Renegades signed these guys in advance and planned their seasons around them. Suspending Babar and Rizwan's NOCs when they aren't even in the T20 team would be an incredibly stupid and irresponsible move that PCB seriously needs to reconsider.

They will be released for the Big Bash league. PCB will not ruin relationships with Cricket Australia

Cricket Australia boss Todd Greenberg confident Pakistan headline acts will play BBL despite PCB ban​

Cricket Australia remains hopeful it can find a resolution with the Pakistan Cricket Board after it banned its players from competing in overseas Twenty20 tournaments.

PCB chief operating officer Sumair Ahmad Syed issued players a notice on September 29, restricting them from competitions outside Pakistan.

It’s is a major blow to Cricket Australia and its Big Bash League clubs after Pakistani talent was the highlight of a successful draft.

Top-liners Babar Azam (Sydney Sixers), Shaheen Shah Afridi (Brisbane Heat) and Muhammad Rizwan (Melbourne Renegades) were all locked in for the upcoming season.

Cricket Australia boss Todd Greenberg is in contact with the PCB and remains confident the headline acts will feature this summer.

“We’ve been in contact with our colleagues at the PCB over the last few days, we’re hopeful we can find a resolution,” Greenberg said.

“We’re really looking forward to welcoming their players to the Big Bash, we think they’ll add great value … it will be a fascinating summer across the BBL, yeah.”

The BBL, and more specifically Sydney Thunder, received a boost when Indian megastar Ravichandran Ashwin signed last week.

Greenberg denies any integral issues with Ashwin’s arrival post draft and expects him to be a major drawcard.

“We’ve found provisions where we can make that work and all the clubs had equal opportunity to engage with him,” he said.

“It’s a big moment for the BBL to welcome Ravi here, I have been talking to him personally on a number of occasions.

“I have found him a breath of fresh air, I think our fans are going to really enjoy watching him play and engaging with him when he’s here for the BBL.

“He will probably and very likely draw a crowd bigger than (23,000, ENGIE Stadium’s capacity), but he’s got quite a few away games in some big stadiums, too.

“I don’t think we’re going to be short of people wanting to come and watch him play, that’s for sure.”

The PCB needs to introduce a platinum category contract for the top 4-5 players and pay them boatloads of money. Like 10x more than the next category.

That's the only way to stop them from playing low quality leagues and ruining their game.

The likes of Babar and Shaheen ought to be making at least Root or Cummins levels of money from their central contracts.

For example Saim Ay00b is number 1 all rounder on ICC T20 ranking and previously Babar and Rizwan were at the Top T20 ranking. These 3 players come to my mind who can be amongst those 4-5 top cricketers. These guys have star powers doesn't matter if they don't win. When they don't win, they learn.

These PCB internal tola will have a heart attack before they would be willing to give such a suggestion.

Even for the likes of Shaheen one small dip of performance and all the fans on social media and the meeting group will be on to the player to cancel their contract.

Major plot twist in Pakistan's Big Bash ban threat

Crisis averted for Cricket Australia and the Big Bash who have secured an 11th hour reprieve on the Pakistan Cricket Board banning its players from competing overseas.

In September, PCB chief operating officer Sumair Ahmad Syed issued a notice to players that would forbid them to play in an international T20 franchise.

The news came as a monumental blow to CA and several clubs who has secured Pakistani talent for the forthcoming season.

The likes of Babar Azam (Sydney Sixers), Shaheen Shah Afridi (Brisbane Heat) and Muhammad Rizwan (Melbourne Renegades) were all locked in for the 2025-26 season.

SEN’s Tom Morris has confirmed a solution has been found and the ban has been overturned.

“About three weeks ago the Pakistan Cricket Board board emailed agents of star players to tell them no objections certificates would be on hold,” Morris said on SEN’s call of the ODI between Australia and India.

“Pakistan - like India - would not allow its players to play in the Big Bash or any franchise league outside of the country.

“This rocked the Big Bash, it rocked Cricket Australia with seven of the eight clubs having one Pakistan player.

“I’ve done more digging and I understand CA reached to the PCB on the issues and now they have clarified that these seven players will be allowed to play in the BBL and there is no material change.

“How it transpired behind the scenes? We might never know, but what we do know is the stars can play this summer.

“Imagine getting an email on September 29 to say they can’t play this season – absolute panic stations.

“Crisis averted.”

Wins don't matter as much as branding. You cannot argue that Babar doesn't bring PCB more revenue than Noman despite later winning more test matches recently.

He’s not making any issue, it was never an issue anyways

PCB suspended all NOCs to be handed out after AC, the previous ones issued were not to be affected. Which player was handed an NOC pre Asia cup and couldn’t fulfil his commitment due to PCB’s suspension policy?
