It won't 95% of Former greats don't even know top run scorers of QAT let alone 2nd XI and U-19. Inzmam didn't even know who were top run scorers in domestic he even mispronounced people he selected.

Muhammad Wasim and Andy Flower Or Mahela Jayawardene Or Mike hesson or Gary Kirsten or Jason Gillespie or Micheal Bevan seems good.
Wasim knows about 2nd XI and U-19 thats why he promoted guys like Mubasir khan in Northern who scored 164 on debut and also got wickets and similarly Munir Riaz made debut impressed with pace and got 5 wickets on debut, i don't know any other in Pakistan can do that literally no one.

Yep, i think what Waseem said recently on somebody's YouTube channel is i provide the resources and it's up to people to manage that. Whether they use those players or not is not my concern.

I like the balance of experience, potential and bordering onto the unknown in his selection policy. I myself understand where he is coming from but others see it differently.

That's a couple of guys you've mentioned in the limited overs squad. Azam has been selected cause we've tried everyone for that middle order and so who hasn't failed you tell me????

List of middle order batsmen selected and all of which had a great domestic season:

- Hussain Talat
- Khushdil Shah
- Iftikhar Ahmed
- Asif Ali
- Shoaib Moqsood
- Danish Aziz
- Haider Ali

He gave all those above guys chances and sadly they all bottled it.

Regarding Sarfraz he's a concussion replacement and you'd rather bank on him than Rohail Nazir.

In terms of test selection:

Azhar Ali- Still performing this year and is 2nd behind Fawad for most test runs scored by a Pakistani in 2021. My opinion i'd drop him for Saud but Azhar is averaging 42 with the bat which about acceptable.

Abid Ali- I agree he merits a drop and replaced with Abdullah Shafique, but again this is one guy.

Imran Butt- Waseem recognized and acknowledged Imran's ability as a slips fielder and whether we like it or not his slips catching ability has helped us win matches, where someone else would fluff catches he's grabbed them. This just shows Waseem keeps his eye on domestic games and keeps an eye on such things.

Granted Imran has been a flop with the bat but he showed courage and selflessness in his brief knock of 37(44) against WI which helped us get to the declaration quickly, if that's not performance under pressure i don't know what is. 3 matches with 16 catches is damn near impressive and something you wouldn't associate with a Pakistani, you must show more patience with this lad although catching is seen as simplistic by some it's a quality Pakistan lacks and so is in high demand.


All in all i've come to the conclusion of 1 guy that doesn't merit a place and that's Abid Ali.
