On the contrary, it would be quite easy to accept India is a secular nation if they didn't have a party based on Hindu nationalism which now forms the govt. A secular constitution which exists in paper, but which is not enforced without prejudice is meaningless.
I'm not too thrilled with some of the antics that I'm seeing coming out of the BJP. But you can't extrapolate and assume that the entire political system is the same. Personally, I can't stand the likes of that moronic chief minister of UP, and the rest of the idiot brigade.
To claim that India isn't secular because BJP is in power, is simply inaccurate.
