Apple will host its big iPhone 8 event on Sept.12, Dow Jones said Monday.

The tech giant is expected to announce a bevy of products, including two new iterative iPhone updates, possibly named the iPhone 7s and iPhone 7s Plus, in addition to a high-end iPhone 8. Apple is also reportedly gearing up to announce a new 4K Apple TV that will support sharper content than current models, and a new Apple Watch.

The iPhone 8 will reportedly feature a display that takes up almost the entire front of the device, using new OLED panels that are brighter and more colorful than previous screens. Rumor has it Apple has moved the fingerprint reader to the back of the phone but will also support facial recognition thanks to a new 3-D sensor on the front of the device.

Rumors have suggested the most high-end iPhone 8 will start at $1,000. Apple typically sells its new phones within a week or so of the announcement.

Apple did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

idrizzy are you an iphone guy ?

Apple are only good for playing catchup these days. Samsung and a whole plethora of other manufacturers had bezel-less phones for the last year or so, but Apple will introduce it as if it the most innovative thing ever just because they have finally done it.

Yep - although I'm not a "fan-boy". I personally just find it more convenient than Android. Alike to how I prefer Macs to Windows. Nothing against Microsoft (and Apple do have extortionate prices).

I ain't gonna go out my way to by the iPhone 8 though - waste of money lol I'd rather invest in a Mac

True, I rather you invest in a Mac as well although personally am not a fan of Apple products however I admit they do look amazing but I always want to get value for my money in terms of the specification more then anything

They do look sexy. I had a Mac but it stopped working after 7 years (my brother managed to break it by charging my PS4 controller through the port....). So I'm gonna be getting a new one with my uni funds this September haha
