New Zealand has just clinched a historic Test series victory in India, ending the hosts' impressive 12-year unbeaten streak at home. The Black Caps secured their triumph with a 113-run win in the second Test, giving them an unassailable 2-0 lead in the three-match series. This victory marks the end of India's remarkable run of 18 consecutive home series wins, a record that had stood since Alastair Cook's England pulled off a famous 2-1 win back in December 2012.

Set a challenging target of 359 runs after New Zealand was bowled out for 255, India's hopes rested on opener Yashasvi Jaiswal, who managed to score a promising half-century. However, the innings quickly unraveled as Mitchell Santner dominated with the ball, finishing with impressive figures of 6-104 and a total of 13 wickets in the match. India was eventually dismissed for 245 in the evening session, falling short of what would have been a historic win.

There would be one less minnow in the world. India just got humiliated by New Zealand's second string team without their best player.

India can only compete when there are spinning pitches, but this time they were outplayed in their own game. Jadeja and Ashwin have been exposed as ineffective, as even Santner turned into an all-time great (ATG), alongside Bashir and Hartley.

This unbeaten run wouldn’t have lasted so long had Younis Khan toured India; there’s a good reason they did not want to go toe-to-toe with a player of his caliber.

shouldve doctored one half of the pitch like they did for aus

Their is one serious question I do wish to ask for Indian cricket.

What's the zid for coming to Pakistan? Any other sport in the world wouldn't allow this. They'd ban the team outright for such nonsense.

Btw can Nepal join the India Afghan bandwagon? Atleast they have sandeep that can give them better spin options.

That’s not a terrible suggestion at all, Nepalese should reinforce the Indian bowling attack

Last series in the subcontinent

Afghanistan v NZ - Draw
Pakistan v NZ - Draw
Bangladesh v NZ - Draw
Sri Lanka v NZ - SL Win.

Most subcontinent sides have stopped the Kiwis from gaining a win.

India badly let down the whole of Asia today.

Their Test status deserves to be revoked because for too long they’ve played their hand to doctor pitches, influence corrupt officials and used other unsporting tactics to bring the game into disrepute, not to mention the political angle. They’ve gained an unfair advantage more often then not,

Thanks shaz for sharing this. This looks like 2011/2012 and India will take a couple of years to rebuild. Old age decline.

You will see in BGT though. They will fight hard. Probably would lose as we have an ageing team but there will.be new faces. We will come back strong. Allah will make them strong again.

That will be too harsh for Indio. Maybe they should stop playing at home for a year or so and try to learn from overseas conditions.

only 1 series defeat in last 12 years at home and we are questioning their Test status... lol

It must be considered, getting whitewashed by NZ without their top players has to be one of the most humiliating results in history

This result might be an anomaly, we should till BGT series result if it goes to 8-0 then a case can be made
