Rishabh Pant : Performance Watch

Lol what? Then how will they learn to play under pressure? Didn't Pant get a chance in the world cup too? He is still trying to cement his place in both the LOI teams. You can't call it a trolling when someone is giving a solid reasoning and presenting stats here. You on the other hand is living on a different planet and are continuously failing to tell me on what basis he should be selected in the T20 team. That's called trolling. :inti

You dont learn to play under pressure in world cup. There are other tournaments for it. What next? You want players to make their debut in world cup? Lol

Pant got a chance only after Dhawan broke his hand in world cup. He was not selected initially and preference was given to an expired Dhoni. Also, Pant already had centuries in Eng & Aust before the world cup...so its not as if he was a rookee. The case is not similar for Ishan Kishan.

But then again you know all these very well too...so dont think I am explaining you anything new. You are simply arguing for the sake of it and making a fool out of yourself in an open forum.

Ending every post of yours with the same garbage isn't going to make your opinion solid here. Selecting Pant on the basis of his centuries in a different format tells where you and selectors have gone wrong lol. He still has to cement his place in T20s. You don't have performances to show in T20s that's why you have resorted to personal attacking and actually you are the one who is arguing for the sake of it here.

On one hand guys like you keep telling all of us that IPL is equal or even better than T20 World Cup and anyone who plays in it is ready for international cricket and on the other hand you are afraid of trying youngsters in a T20 world cup? :)))

There is nothing wrong in debuting 1-2 younger players in a T20 World Cup especially those who have already played competitive seasons of IPL. Isn't it? :inti

Who is saying Pant has already cemented his position in T20s? But Ishan Kishan did cement his position either

Pant is the best wicket keeper batsman in India after the retirement of Dhoni. So its obvious he will play in world cup rather than an unexposed rookee. Are you seriously this thick? :)))

Btw, Kishan didnt lit the last IPL on fire either and was benched even by Mumbai Indians. And you want him to replace Pant in Indian team for world cup?

Viru bhai :srini

Learn to comprehend properly first. I said others also deserve a chance in the team. It doesn't mean Kishan has replaced your blue eyed boy. Relax. There is no harm in trying others when the one who was hyped so much by the fans has failed in T20s. If he is that good he can make a comeback again. Not sure why are you getting so insecure here? Once again this will be my top 6

Rohit
Rahul
Kohli
Kishan
Sky
Pandya

According to Pandya also, there are so many youngsters to choose from. If Kishan fails then we can try someone else too. We don't have to stick with Pant in T20s when we have KL Rahul in the side. Keep your f@nboyism aside and think logically. It will give India another option in the bowling department if KL Rahul keeps the wicket. :inti

Comeback from? :))

You do realize right we are arguing (for the sake of it) on your filmsy logic but in reality Pant will be wicket keeper for all matches bar injury. So he is not coming back from anywhere. Lol

If he wasn't good enough he wont win his team a test series in australia. Now you will say test and T20s are different but in a world cup stage you would anyday play a proven performer over any rookee. There are only 15 players you can carry in world cup...so its not like if X player fails...you immidiately swap him with another youngster.

Your top 6 is your personal opinion but below is the team (more or less) India will play:

Rohit
Dhawan
Kohli
Kishan
Rahul
Pant

^ I mean SKY not Kishan...apologies

Dhawan
Rohit
Kohli
Rahul
SKY
Pant

With this team India won't win the world cup. Dhawan plays slowly too. Has a strike rate of 126. Just played one of his pathetic inning against Sri Lanka D side today lol.

Pant did play in the semi final of the world cup. All of us saw how he played there. Not to mention the WTC final too. :inti

Dhawan is not my personal preference too but India will surely pick him considering his ICC tournament records and in the name of experience. So the team I posted is not something that I want (not that it matters) but thats the team India will play more or less. Its too late to make any changes, include any youngster etc. unless someone has a freak IPL. If any youngster do make it to the team, it will be on the bowling department - Chahar brothers or Siraj. Batting line up is fixed and done deal.

Dhawan's ICC tournament record is good in ODIs, not in T20s. He is good in first six overs of T20 match but after getting into 30-40 zone, he is not able to change gear like Rohit and struggles for big shots.

This will be India's XI for WT20:-

Rohit
Rahul
Kohli
Pant
SKY
Pandya
Jadeja
Shardul/D Chahar/Sundar
Bhuvi
Chahal
Bumrah

Backups:-

Ishan Kishan, Shreyas Iyer, Shikhar Dhawan, Axar Patel, Shami, Siraj, R Chahar/ Kuldeep Yadav, V Chakraborty and T Natrajan/Chetan Sakariya

There are still vacant spots in bowling department to be taken for but in batting, it is pretty much a given that Sanju Samson and Manish Pandey will not make it to even the squad. Prithvi Shaw has only outside chance of getting into squad because Dhawan and Kishan can be the backup openers and they will have to take more bowlers with them for the WT20.

Happy Birthday to the once in a generation talent, Rishabh Pant.

Let us relive one of the greatest knock by an Asian batsman ever in Australian conditions.

Devastating batting.People who compare Pant to Samson and Kishan in any format should get their brain tested :inti

There is a gap of miles between Pant and those two.
