In all world cup cricket tournaments no batsmen before him has hit 5 centuries in a single edition.

He also equals joint highest number of total centuries scored across various world cup editions by a player. He and Sachin now have 6 centuries each in career 100s scored in world cup ODIs.

Amazing. Few weeks before WC there were talks about him not making it to WC due to an injury.

Classy player.

Looks a cool dude to me.

Someone who is lazy but the best at his work.

Sachin has 6 centuries in 44 innings while Rohit achieved them in 16 innings. I know it's different eras but Rohit continues to surprise!

There was never an actual chance of him missing the world cup just baseless rumors that some ipl haters jumped on to.

Wow, thats impressive.

Also, Rohit has scored the most runs so far (647) in this edition of the world cup. He needs 26 more runs to equal the record 673 runs scored by Sachin in World Cup 2003.

Unbelievable consistency and fluency.

What a player. Who knew he'd be the prize wicket before Kohli.

He's the Berbatov of cricket. Looks lazy and has been called that too but his touch and attitude towards making things look simple & easy is amazing.

Greatest odi opener of all time along with sachin. Has surpassed Anwar, Jayasuriya, Haynes and Gilchrist

His consistency and control is amazing. He knows which balls to defend and which to get runs off and has amazing patience to play big knocks. Ind has gem of player.

5 easy catches dropped purposely as SL players want IPL contract.

Yeah and the WI's team deliberatly outgunned the PAK team in connivance with BCCI to keep PAK from making to the knockout stage.

Get out from under the rock :)

We are so blessed to have both Rohit and Kohli in our team, this is like a tag team consisting of Godzilla and King Ghidorah.

Congratulations, Rohit.

However, I must say his centuries were sketchy. Root dropped him; Pakistan missed run out chance; Tamim dropped him. He really should have had only two centuries.

Call it stepping up in the absence of his partner. He started playing aggressively once Dhawan left. He started assuming Dhawan's role.

Babar dropped by NZ keeper, Babar gave chances against BD. Part of the game. It is how he capitalized on them is what matters. Babar is pronounced to have come of age after the century where he got a life.

He is making games boring by not making the matches even close. Today's game Vs SL, I was expecting a close game, but once again Rohit made the chase ridiculously easy and boring.

Amazing players, unbelievable run of form.

I mean, Rohit averages 100 once he crosses 20. Getting him out cheaply is the only way to stop him.

Only the 2nd batsman ever to hit 5 centuries in a series/tournament in ANY format.

I am not the biggest Sharma fan and he is still largely a flat track bully BUT in this tournament, in some slightly tricky conditions and pitches he has managed to find a formula that works...one he has used before but never at this level. Go steady at first and then accelerate later.

He has been a terrific performer here.

He’s played one less league match too.

5 in 8 matches is CRAZY

De Kock and Rohit opened for Mumbai Indians. De Kock sizzled in the IPL. Rohit had a close to FLOP IPL season. From the form perspective De Kock was in amazing form both in interntionals and IPL. But De Kock's nerves took over until the very last match. That is where you have to appreciate Rohit. He played like he was playing in the nets in most of the matches.

Walcott is impressive, but it should be noted that it is much easier to hit a century in a Test where a batsman can take all the time he wants in contrast to an ODI where it is "hurry, hurry, hurry"!

If Dhawan was in this team it is 200% certain that India would have won this world cup even if our tail started from No.4... Such good is this top 3, these 3 batsmen are equal to 10 batsmen from any other side at the moment!

He should have saved one of those centuries for Semi Final

What a tournament he had. But he was always going to fail in the semi or final as he had plenty of good days earlier in the tournament.

Starc is now favourite for player of the tournament unless he failed miserably against England. Warner also have very good chance

Hint of swing and the ftb perishes. Oh and he didnt got dropped three times today to make it count :yk

Starc already has one world cup.
Even he failed it will not vanish his legacy.

Mental midget comes through. Predicted before match he would choke.

3 of out 5 times he got an extra life. Drop catches and that stupid throw by Fakhar.
Warner just 10 runs now to overtake Rohit.
