That's not fair. He is a 4-time IPL winning captain so obviously, he has enough leadership capability.

Our bowlers were just below par vs HK and were still getting used to a foreign pitch. A captain cannot do much there.

Rohit is a good captain but again it is too early to say he is better. Currently Kohli is the right choice and should remain the captain. Replacing a captain 8 months before World Cup is not a great idea.

As long as Dhoni is there, I don't care who's the captain. I just know whoever is, they have Dhoni behind them to guide them in tough phase. Post 2019 is where I will start to worry if Dhoni does indeed retires.

Rohit has wealth of experience. He is relatively calmer. Kohli despite outward aggression there is a timid side to his captaincy. Saw it with RCB and India in the limited overs. He compensated with his batting somewhat.

Kohli wants glory and like Ganguly wants to pick up young cricketers and make them legends. There is nothing wrong with the intent but I am not sure if he has that knack of identifying talent, which Ganguly had. Case in point is Sarfaraz Nawaz. He has tried making him the core of RCB and the guy can't score runs.

Kohli loves media and wants to be known as someone who changed lives of a few cricketers, but as has been the case with RCB and India, he just doesn't pick the right talent.

Let's be clear, irrespective of who captain if this Dad's army of Rayudu, DK, Dhoni and Jadhav is in our top 7, we are doomed anyways. That is where it is heading as of now. We will only depend on our top 3 - Rohit, Dhawan and Kohli. As long as they click, we will keep winning, however if all three have a bad day like the CT final showed, no one will turn up.

Forget about Gill and Shaw. They are both top order batsmen and they currently don't make it to the team based on their roles. You can't teach 20-year-olds how to bat at number 5 & 6 (the toughest position to bat for a proper batsman) in 10 months. They are out of the picture in LOIs till the WC. In Rohit, Dhawan, Kohli and KL we already have 4 of our best and most experienced top 3. We don't need more help there.

As far as Pant is concerned, it is inexcusable that he isn't in the Asia Cup but DK is. I just don't see the advantage of having DK as the backup WK for WC over Pant. He is way more talented, has played enough of IPL and now has test experience in Eng. With 8 months of more international experience, he would have been twice the player that DK has ever been. The man is already 34 years old. What is the point in investing in his at this point?

I don’t think Rohit would be able to handle the captaincy and the pressure of being the 2nd best batter. I do like Rohit as a captain but captaining on a full time basis and maintaining your form for a team like India isn’t easy. Rohit is capable of going through long periods of poor form. If India were loosing games and he wasn’t performing, it could ruin him.

Kohli should stay as captain.
