Rumman Raees watch versus New Zealand

He's more suited to slower wickets than the bouncy or greentops. A bit like Mustafiz, who is not the same threat outside of subcontinent. After SL series people were saying Raees should permanently replace Junaid as the second pacer. Now some of the same people are calling him a domestic trundler. It's funny and sad at the same time.

According to me, absence of a backup pacer is really hurting us here, there is no back up proper pacer, Amir Yamin and Fahim aren't proper pacers.
Junaid was playing a key role in doing a holding role in the middle and taking 1 or 2 wickets every match consistently. His holding role was also key to the bowlers bowling from the other end. Junaid's containing bowling in the CT final was also very important for a steaming Amir at the other end. Should have sent someone like Irfan or Sohail in place of Yamin.

He is a clever bowler but not really a bowler who can trouble batsmen with swing and seam on a regular basis. Once in a while he might do that but that doesnt change the fact that he is essentially a 1st change bowler.

If you try to make faulkner your opening bowler, you are asking for trouble.

His purple patch has come to an end. Always knew he was nothing more than a trundler.

I am not sure Rumman is as bad as the first two matches showed and people are making him out to be. NZ is one of the most difficult places to get acclimatize fast both as bowler and batsman.

Yes Rumman deserves to be dropped from the 3rd ODI but shouldnt be discarded. He swung the ball in UAE and looked in rythm. Here in NZ he is lacking the rythm, no getting no swing at all and maybe struggling with some niggle and its never easy to adjust to the wind and conditions in NZ.

I think he has the potential to be a lot better bowler but, he better start working hard as some really good pacers are gonna knock the door in next few months and Junaid and Shinwari will be back in the ODI set up as well.

Rumman bowled really well, he was almost on the edge of getting replaced today with Yamin but I think Sarfaraz made the call to keep him and he did the job.

He did ok today but what's with these poor 4 balls on leg stump?

It seems trundler bowled well today. He will always thrive on these slow and low bounce wickets.

Cleaned up the tail. Not impressed with his pace, but happy that he turned out with good figures.

Grooming someone like Hasan Ali, you mean? Or Shadab Khan? Or bringing Junaid back into the fold, who is definitely part of our best attack despite what you say? Or Usman Khan Sherwani, who suffered an unfortunate set-back? Or Faheem Ashraf, who's been more than a decent bowler despite many a "fan" criticizing his initial selection in the CT. A couple of poor performances do not warrant Rumman being discarded either.

As always, you and most other people here need to realize that the Pakistan team cannot win each and every single match. Neither can all of our players perform at their best day in and day out.
Nah, I mean the continued selection of Ahmed Shehzad, the failure to select an extra pace bowler on the NZ tour, bring Imam into the fold despite ZERO performance at the List-A level at the expense of a certain Sahibzada who’s been performing in every List-A tournament since the Pakistan Cup, the failure to realise that Hafeez and Malik are sitting ducks overseas... I can continue listing more if you want, lol.
