Both Pakistan players are playing this match lets see who is better
As both are playing for opposing teams I am not sure who to support

If you want to support the winners barrack for WA. Although Tait/Tanvir could cause some problems. Loads more talent in WA team.

Gul halfway through his first over.

Well this is diffrent they are opening with gul we usually use him to bowl in the last ten

They don't exactly have an oversupply of bowlers in WA at the moment.

gul cleans him up with a GREAT yorker phir be hai ek pakistani ^^

Gul just might be the best at Yorkers and reverse swing in the world right now so this trip might help develop Australian pacers.

Might be handy if WA had any decent bowlers to develop.

If I was CA I would ask him to visit the development level cricket to pass on few tips since the techniques used by Pak pacers are usually quite different than Australians.

4.6 Magoffin to Harris, FOUR, beautiful on drive for four to beat mid on, fantastic!
4.5 Magoffin to Harris, 4 leg byes, bouncer from Magoffin, beats Harris for pace playing the pull shot and takes him on the helmet and races down to fine leg for four with no fieldsman there
4.4 Magoffin to Harris, FOUR, smashed straight back down the ground in the air over long-off, great shot from Harris!
4.3 Magoffin to Harris, no run, yorker length on leg stump and Harris misses out and is trapped on the pad but it's going down leg
4.2 Magoffin to Harris, 2 runs, chipped over cover for a couple
4.1 Magoffin to Harris, SIX, short ball from Magoffin who takes more punishment as Harris pulls nicely to deep backward square leg where Dorey parries it over the rope for a maximum!

he got smacked man

God, the game is on Fox now. but I can't watch cause the family's watching a movie :pissed:
Go gulla !

4 wickets for 15 runs...the batsmen simply had no answers to those deadly yorkers...excellent! I hope tanno can do something similar tonight!

Have any1 found a streaming link? I think sohail tanvir is going to bowl soon.

Umar Gul had impressing figures of 4/15, and in t20 his bowling ave. is 13.66, amazing

That's 20/20 for you.
One match Yuvraj hits six 6's of an over to broad, next match Yuvraj doesn't manage a single six against Gul and gets out trying to hit him for a six.

Skill or luck?
Skill for sure!

which Fox is it on? On the Fox soccer they are naturally enough showing fooball, and on Fox Sports there is tv-shop program.

Sorry yaar, Australian domestic television:afridi

Having the world's highest rated T20 bowler bowling against South Australia is like clubbing baby seals.

Sohail Tanvir won - Umar Gul lost.

But ironically, Gul performed better with 4 - 15 (cf. a very respectable 1 - 21). His fiery performance being retarded by too many Australians in his side. Shame.

Tanvir was unlucky, had a dropped catch and a plumb lbw not given. And the lbw was something even Bucknor would have given with both eyes closed.

umer gul is a high quality fast bowler in all formats, same cannot be said of trundler tanveer who's just a limited bowler

SA is the best, of course they should win.

WA attack is pie throwing, steak bacon & cheese.

:)))

They have Gul in the bowling department, and three Aussie internationals in their batting department. Marsh and Pomersbach just failed today, they would have rolled South Australia any other day

Not a single score update? Whats the point of the thread?

WA scored 182 a/o off 19.2 overs (Gul - 4-15)

SA are 121-6 off 17 overs (Tanvir 1-21)

Scored. Game is over. I think everyone was following on Cricinfo, hence nobody asked for the score.

Tanno was unlucky.. he could have got one more...but that dropped catch and the blind umpire ruined it

Would be nice to see some highlights of this match.

Was expecting it to be a few days before these two squared off against each other. Seemed like a good contest, Gul won the individual battle it seems.

SOUTH Australia followed through on their threat to be a Twenty20 force this summer, unseating last year's Big Bash finalists Western Australia by 36 runs in a rain-shortened affair at Adelaide Oval.

Apart from a crazed collapse of 6-15 in 16 balls to close their innings, the Redbacks proved a far more professional outfit than last season when they failed to win a game, piling up 182 after skipper Graham Manou chose to bat first in front of 9254 spectators.

Callum Ferguson (58, 38 balls) and Daniel Harris (35, 20 balls) made the most meaningful contributions.

The Warriors were never comfortable in their revised chase of 158 from 17 overs, finishing at 6-121.

Mark Cleary (2-26), Gary Putland (2-22) and Pakistani Sohail Tanvir (1-19) all bowled well, while Ferguson claimed a pair of smart outfield catches.

SA had looked capable of scoring anything at 4-167 in the 17th over, but some fine bowling by WA's Pakistani quick Umar Gul (4-15) and a handful of silly strokes saw the Redbacks bundled out inside their 20 overs.

Nicknamed "Sea-Gul" by teammates, Gul earlier bowled a thrifty new ball spell, and humbled Michael Klinger by delivering a world-class yorker that was much too good for the Sheffield Shield's runaway leading scorer.

WA's reply was destabilised by the second over loss of Shaun Marsh, flicking Putland straight to Ferguson in the deep, then delayed by a brief rain interruption that reduced the target when the Warriors were 1-37 after 5.1 overs.

When play resumed the greasy conditions were well suited to Cleary, who struck the hammer blows by having Luke Pomersbach (24) skying a catch before removing the off stump of Marcus North (15) next ball.

Pomersbach's wicket came at a cost to Redbacks 12th man Jake Brown, who ran headlong from cover into the knee of catcher Ferguson, suffering a bloody nose in the process.

Watching from the commentary box, Jason Gillespie had painful flashbacks of his similarly sickening collision with Steve Waugh at Kandy in Sri Lanka in 1999.

The rest of the innings petered out, despite the best efforts of Adam Voges (28).
Man of the match Ferguson said SA's recent double bonus point one-day win over NSW in Sydney had injected a decent amount of confidence. "That one-day win up in Sydney was a big one for us where we got two bonus points," he said.

"That really got the ball rolling for us and we went into this one really confident."

WA skipper North was generous in his praise of Gul, who was one of few positives for the vanquished visitors.

"It was a pleasure to give him the ball," he said.

"These guys can not only come over here and perform well but also pass on that experience, that knowledge on to us."

Good to see both Tanno and Gul have made a good early impact.

Wow, both bowlers played well, especially Umar Gul. Taking 4 for 15 is outstanding! Hope the success continues for both of them and hopefully they get a big following by the Australian supporters.

Some good performances by our guys - well done

Gul rocked them! \m/

Tanveer had a sitter dropped and an lbw not given. He would've had 3 wickets otherwise.

Both bowled well. Well done! :)

Good performance by Both. Gul would have been happy with 4-for and the fact he got Tanvir 1st ball aswell ;)

Sea-Gul :)))

Great performance by Gul as always and a respectable one from Tanvir as well, hopefully these guys benefit from this experience for our next tour in Aus.
