This maybe a hard concept for somebody living in India to understand - those women are American citizens. Everybody in this country came from elsewhere, this a nation of immigrants. When Republicans were complaining about how awful America was under Obama nobody ever told them to "Go back".

Immigrants have good reason to be grateful to their new host community, that is understandable. Many of them are happy to accept second class citizenship because it is still better than living in shining countries which in reality look like junkyards.

But those who were born abroad don't have inferiority complexes and expect the same rights as everyone else, and that is why it was racist to tell those women to go back home. It's incredible really, even most whites are embarrassed by the comments, yet you have brown nosers in this thread saying it was okay, and then trying to explain their own saffron flag waving by claiming they are merely well wishers of the motherland.

He is the one who agrees that extremism in islam is an issue. Which is true.

Personally myself i dont care about religions.
Do some studying in history and you will find its all written by intellectual humans in those times.

Many independent scholars have proven Judaism was a pagan religion that was changed over time.
It was never a monotheistic religion to begin with.

Just by that we can discount islam and christianity.
Religions were made by humans to control ignorant humans.

You already have a biased view, so there is no need for me to explain what value hes adding because its not that you wouldnt understand, its that you dont want to understand.

Intellectually speaking, having bias FOR or AGAINST something or someone is not necessarily a bad thing. I have a bias against Nazis and Talebans of this world. This doesn't disqualify me from having opinions on the two. Similarly, I have a bias against those who do not recognize the sacred place that Jesus posses in Islam. If someone tries to pretend that they are Muslims and still claim that Muslims somehow hate Jesus than I simply can't take that person seriously.

It's easy to buy smarts when you inherit hundreds of millions from daddy.

What's dumb was Trump rejecting Democrat's offer of $25bn for the border wall in exchange for DACA, and having to shut down the government after not even getting $5bn a few months later. This is a man who brags about being a master negotiator.

I did ask this very question in a thread you made on immigration, but you ran like a hare from your own thread and still haven't answered.

I await the usual one or the liner reply.

Sadiq should focus on doing his job and not meddling in other countries politics.

He is beyond doubt probably the worst mayor London has ever had and done a woeful job.
 
Sadiq Khan is perhaps the worst mayor of London I have ever seen or lived under. Another token insertion. Worse than Boris when he was mayor, and this is saying something.

what are you saying? I've lived in London for the last 25 years, considering we've only had 3 elected mayors I would say Boris & Sadiq are tying for bottom place, not a fan of Khan at all, completely useless.

I don’t know if sadiq khan is to blame for this but London clearly was a much worser city in August 2019 compare to when I visited it in 2010. Like rarely can you compare two places directly and see how far it has fallen. Karachi is much worse representation of that phenomena but London isn’t far behind

In what way was it worse? If you are a driver it's worse because they are making cycle lanes everywhere and to do that they have to make the lanes narrower which makes driving in London even more of a pain. They are doing this everywhere though, not just a London thing.

London still very much one of the best cities in the world and this is despite the rise in homelessness and professional beggars waiting outside restaurants and bars to fleece you.

In terms of mayors, imho, it goes like this:-

Ken
Sadiq
Boris
 
With regards to great London, it has more to do with the local boroughs then the mayor of london.

He has destroyed the roads of London and made moving around by car or taxi impossible.
This is not happening at this rate in other cities or parts of the UK the way it has in London.

He has destroyed the public transport system with mis management of TFL

Amount of homeless destitute people are now on street corners everywhere in London

Insane rise in crime throughout London

The city is now dirty, unsafe and full of extremely miserable people.
He hasnt done one good thing in his time apart from bold virtue signalling statements to please voters such as his pro remain, pro BLM rants.

London Mayor Sadiq Khan has told LBC he was singled out by the now-outgoing US President Donald Trump "for no other reason" than being Muslim

Speaking to LBC's James O'Brien just days after Joe Biden won the race to the White House in the US Presidential Election, the Mayor said

James asked Mr Khan how he felt when Donald Trump attacked him personally putting him under an "astonishingly ugly spotlight."

"Bring a Muslim ain't easy, it isn't easy," Mr Khan said, adding "it's never been harder to be a Muslim than the last four years."

Expanding on what he meant, the Mayor told LBC that the world had "for the first time the leader of the free world, a mainstream politician perpetuating a view that Islam and the West are incompatible."

He went on to say that President Trump had perpetuated a view that "all of us must be bad, or must be terrorist because of the actions of a very small minority."

"Let's be frank, the reason I was singled out was not because of any other reason," he said, "than my faith."

The Mayor of London said this led to Muslims around the world "carrying an additional weight" due to the actions and words of Donald Trump.

He added that many across the globe were not happy with the way Donald Trump treated minorities and people who were different to him.

President Donald Trump is facing pressure to cooperate with president-elect Joe Biden's team to ensure a smooth transfer of power when the new administration takes office in January.

The General Services Administration (GSA) is tasked with formally recognising Mr Biden as president-elect, which begins the transition. But the agency's Trump-appointed administrator, Emily Murphy, has not started the process and has given no guidance on when she will do so.

That lack of clarity is fuelling questions about whether Mr Trump, who has not publicly recognised Mr Biden's victory and has falsely claimed the election was stolen, will impede Democrats as they try to establish a government.

Can't comment on the rest of that, but on the traffic aspect I read an interesting column from a journalist complaining about how their little town centre ( can't remember the exact location) was totally pedestrianised making it impossible to travel in with a car.

At first the writer was furious, but after living with it for a few months, now he says he would never go back. He got a cycle to travel in and do shopping, and says the clean air is fantastic. Obviously the point of it is lost if you are travelling in a range rover yourself. Reminds me of the old labour politician John Prescott who was nicknamed 2 Jags.

Mr Khan requires a top level police security detail because of threats to him,' he added.

'The Metropolitan Police provide round the clock protection for the Mayor of London. This is not a case of the Mayor having a chauffeur-driven car, either provided by City Hall or anybody else. The vehicle is there for his safety.'

To be fair, that is due to cuts to the Met made by Westminster, and gradual erosion of social fabric due to austerity. Can’t comment on the rest as I don’t live in the Big Smoke these days.

He has definitely destroyed TfL. He's put up the congestion charge again, and more cycle/bus lanes are popping up, causing havoc for drivers.
 
COVID-19: Mayor Sadiq Khan warns London could move to Tier 3 if rules are not followed

Londoners have again been warned they may soon face tougher restrictions if they do not follow the current coronavirus rules amid a surge of cases.

A spokesman for the city's mayor, Sadiq Khan, said winter could see a "devastating" rise in COVID-19 infections if people do not obey the current Tier 2 rules, with new data showing cases climbed in 75% of the capital's boroughs.

"The number-one way to look out for our loved ones and support local businesses in this festive season is to follow the rules, and do all we can to avoid going back into tougher restrictions later this month or any time in the future," the spokesman said.

"If we begin to act like this virus has gone away, we could see a devastating further surge in cases at a time of year when our NHS is already under enough pressure."

When I rode my bike to work I loved the Oval cycle lane. I felt very safe. But for it to make sense the switch to cycling would have to be a hundredfold and it wasn’t. The bus lane closed and all the buses got shoved onto the car lane, increasing congestion instead of cutting it.

I can see the point of the car taxes but you’d need 100k more London buses, as the tube and train network is saturated.
