I saw few threads few days ago in support of Sami Aslam :))
He is looking horrible in the Pakistan Cup can't play our 2nd ,3rd , 4th tier bowlers..
May be Inzamam was right and we were just crying for no reason..

He was never in contention for a place in the ODI squad.
The reason people were upset was because he was dropped from the test squad, and that was really unfair to him.

Any why are you happy? Don't worry, he won't take Shehzad the explosive place.

I really hope he doesn't fade away. One of my favourite player. At the age of 20 if you can score runs against Woakes, Anderson and Broad in England you are no bad player

Not surprised.

Happens too often now.

Player A gets in to pakistan team.
Plays a few good knocks, followed by a 3-4 average knocks.

Gets dropped, Loses confidence.
Fails in domestic.

This is whilst seniors are allowed to fail for years.

Jamshed-Maqsood-Mohammed Ayub.

Sharjeel Khan was also dropped from t20 squad for failing in odi's.

Sami's turn now.

Exclusion from Test squad disturbed him. Particularly when you were selected on tough tours and
dropped on easier ones. He lost focus.
People criticizing him now clearly did not watch him last season when he payed for Sindh

Dropping him from Test squad was worst decision.

He is low on confidence.

Totally agreed, Ppers have short attention spans; after almost 2 decades we found an opener who actually knew where his off stump was and what do we do? dump him in the bin, such a talent are worthy of a long rope and should be developed for the future.

That 80 odd knock in UK was enough to give him next 3 Test series atleast. 20 years old playing test cricket first time in UK, narrowly missed out on being youngest visitor to score test ton in UK.

Quite worst decision by Inzamam.

Shan might score against Windies but he is a nothing player. C grade opener.

MISBAH the yes man is a MASTER in destroying youngsters confidence... he is a nightmare to any youngster, if you dont do well for few matches and dont have any connections with PCB, the kaptaan will walk through you out of the team successfully... job well done...:hasan

Oh man you've created scenario...
We can't bash Misbah but we have to support Sami as well..

He is a dreadful Limited Overs batsman, and his method of playing Test cricket is outdated. He needs to get his priorities right, i.e. learn to play for the team and not his average. If not, it will only be a matter of time before he is lost in oblivion, which will be a shame because he has shown a lot of promise.

If he is playing for his average then he's been doing a really bad job at it.

Not scoring runs and defending endless deliveries won't get his average anywhere.

Anyway, shouldn't have been dropped from the Test side.

Rightly dropped but replaced by jokers. Imran Butt or the opener from Karachi(forgetting his name) should've been his replacement.

I meant in Test cricket. He is simply not cut for the shorter formats. I personally feel that he is too obsessed with stats, and the fact that he regularly talks/tweets about his record reinforces that assumption, and so does his batting in Tests. Will take him over the good guy Masood any day, but I don't him getting dropped if it helps him reconsider his approach. He has the potential to play 100 Tests.

In test match, he is a good "blocker" but doesn;t play any shots, that not a sign of good test player either. I think, Imam and some other youngster are better.

you should have a captain who backs talent and give them a proper run despite failures... when you have a captain who says ok no probs to a 19 yo who scored runs in ENGLAND and NZL for the first tour and also withstanding 100 balls negotiating the new ball when the whole team is falling like pack of cards in the other end in AUS in their first inns and also sami's first tour to AUS... all this is not fluke... and he is dropped now, MISBAH doesnt care...

I wasn't surprised that he was dropped because his batting has regressed. His hands are too low and his body language at the crease is poor. He does however, have as others have pointed out, great awareness of his off stump. All is not lost but I do fear that he might disappear altogether.

could be confidence thing after being dropped.. thats a common occurrence with young players
