No, I just feel whoever wins the game/tournament deserves the higher praise. When teams win it's more often than not because they deserved it. The same can be said of captains.
It really shouldn't matter if he's seasoned or not, it comes down to minute details and changes made throughout the game. Misbah was very good and Sarfraz made mistakes. Simple as that.
Misbah deserves higher praise. No doubt. When they came off earlier Sarfraz defeated him. So your statement that he came across one of the better captain and lost isn't entirely correct.
Look I don't know why you can't fathom the obvious. He came up against the better captain on the day, which was Misbah.
There's nothing sinister or anti-Sarfraz in what I said.
Misbah captained much better and was the captain that came out on top.
It's not so difficult to understand![]()
The statement is changed now. It's correct. Didn't accused you of being anti-sarfraz.
Yep they choked indeed. However, Quetta is more Karachi than Karachi itself, Sarfraz and Moin choking like they always do.![]()
Brilliant tactician opening with Shafiq in T20s.
Seems like another captain who gives special favors to his close friends. This doesn't bode well for our future in ODIs and T20s considering now that he is the captain and will remain so till the World Cup at least.
Looks like Shafiq will continue to get selected in ODIs.

Can't be worse than Azhar, but he needs to put the team first, not his friends.
Friends United vs Friendship Gladiators would be fun to watch.

i see good leadership qualities in sarfaraz ahmad and i do not see leadership qualities in azhar ali so good that he resigned well with sarfaz u need to back him all the way give him 2 years till wc and he will deliver, imad, sharjeel, babar must support him rest are replacable however i do wish pcb makes babar azam the vice captain of pakistan team squad in all formats.
OP has backtracked on this so should not be given any credit.
On topic, very good captaincy from Sarfaraz.
He's a good captain, but a liability in LOIs with batting.
It's not too thick to understand, if you put in some effort.
Call him what you may, the guy beat the 'best talents in the country' by apparently playing his 'buddies'. You lot should dread to think what the lad would do with real 10 men of merit and ability.
For this reason alone we should back him as ODI Kaptaan.

Have you looked at their squad? It is the worst of all teams. There are not many options. Opening is the only option for Shafiq. He is a certified failure everywhere else.
He doesn't give up easily does he ?
Still encouraging and talking to his bowlers even when Afridi and co were smacking them out of the park.
Zalmi's tail choked massively so he did benefit from luck. Sarfraz's captaincy itself wasn't particularly great tonight, and many questioned him bowling Nawaz in the final over, but boy did that call pay off.
Watching this guy´s move pay off yesterday like gold, I got this very sudden feeling that this guy will achieve some silverware, or at least some great success as captain of Pakistan. The way his moves pay off for Quetta remind me so much of Dhoni´s years as captain.
People might dismiss it as "Sarfraz is just incredibly lucky", as many did in MS´ case, but the fact is that he made a very bold and different decision to give Nawaz the last over instead of any of his pace bowlers, a bowler who´d been carted around the park for 45 off his previous 18 balls - risks that MS took with Joginder or Ishant, things that he loved doing in nerve-wrecking thrillers.
Whether it pays off or not, but Sarfraz made a decision, he took a risk, he looked like a captain out there. I wouldn´t be imagining associating anything such with Azhar Ali - with due respect to him.
I´ve my reservations about Sarfraz´s abilities as batsman, but I so dearly hope he makes out of Pakistan what MS did with India in limited-overs cricket. Cricket for me has become a bit dull without MS as captain, but here´s hoping he continues the leganiccy of another Bihari Baabu. Of course, there´s a long way to go before that as I fully realise the state of Pakistan´s limited-overs team right now. It´s almost impossible what I´m dreaming here.

nice post though some posters full of hate might bash this that Dhoni hasn't done anything but I rate him highly and the belief he had on his players wad amazing and I think Sarfaraz posses that too and the belief of doing something or precisely of achieving something defines your success...
This.....Luck favours the brave...He had faith in his bowler, backing him up close to the stumps, holding the opposition off the neck till the last breathe are certain attributes that I've seen with DHONI only... Recently DHONI did that with BANGLA boys which choked them to lose at the jaws of victory...One thing SARFI has similar with MS is "dont give up till the last run scored"
only a second tournament as captain and has already achieved what no other pakistani captains could do in 20 years i-e won CT
You heard it here first, folks! What a prophecy! Although, I never imagined that my words would come true with a space of three months!
We all did but some said change of captain won't make a difference) a moment of silence for those Pete Rose
Isn't this his first ODI tournament as captain?
i meant first being west indies series
Agreed. But people saying he should be captain? Thats just stupid. He wont be in the ODI team for too long believe me. In tests hes ben great but shouldnt be captain
lol bro time flies
If you say so
So now you know change of captain works!!
Since the U19 days, he's known to be a brilliant tactician, having one of the best cricketing minds in Pakistan.
He has won us one U19 world cup with his captaincy.
And today in the inaugrual match of PSL, his field placings and bowler selections have been brilliant.
Completely stranded Islamabad United, even though I'm supporting United.
Well well well what do we have here
