Sarfaraz Ahmed dropped from Test and T20I teams

Yeah it was only in UAE but it was still special to watch. These days he's getting out frequently sweeping spinners.

It might be the same for Rizwan too. I think most fans are looking for a Bairstow/Buttler/Dhoni/de Kock behind the stumps. Pakistan will be better served playing to their strengths rather than forcing players to do what they never could or no longer can. We should accept that right now and in the foreseeable future we don’t have a quality wicketkeeper who is a power-hitter. So either we pick a part-time keeper or go with someone like Rizwan or Sarfraz who could do their best (when in-form) in the top-5. I prefer a fit, full-time wicketkeeper personally; arguably your most important fielder.

Mickey Arthur speaking on TV

"The current run is beginning to develop into more of a blip... That's why one could question the need for all the change, because it's something that was working fairly well with Sarfaraz at the helm. This was the one format where we were going well. But they'll figure it out. T20 cricket is a momentum game, once you win a couple of games, the confidence will come back and once that happens, Pakistan will become a formidable unit again"

"Sarfaraz was ahead of the game in T20 cricket. He captained unbelievably well in this format. His own form let him down but he captained exceptionally well. That's a lot of experience from behind the stumps that's suddenly gone out of the equation"

Seems he will have to wait for a while - could make a comeback in the Only ODI

Misbah on Sarfaraz in today's press conference

"Sarfaraz has made some terrific improvements in fitness and is one of the fittest at the moment. It's straight forward for him with PSL coming up, he was dropped due to form. If he performs, he has a strong case to make a comeback"
