Sarfaraz Ahmed: The real issues

Whats bizzare is that the PCB has invested a lot in grooming Sarfaraz as captain, he was the U-19 captain, captain of the A team, had always captained in domestic cricket. He literally had a 10-12 year headstart in leadership experience. For him to look completely out of his depth in international cricket only exposes our poor domestic cricket structure and also our poor education structure.

Wrong. Sarfraz was always a mediocre player to start with and everyone knew he was riding on his purple patch but if he had any shame he would have done justice to all the hype and support he was given. Instead he let his belly grow and didn't work on his batting or keeping. He regressed so badly that even Rizwan out performed him on his comeback with 2 centuries.

Lesson for PCB, never ever appoint someone captain who is mediocre and can't make playing xi on merit.

The Indian media were literally laughing at Sarfaraz on Sunday.

In fact one of them said to me, this guy does not come across as a captain, his body language is terrible and he doesn't look like he could inspire anyone.

Indians have trolled Pakistan so badly that one of our analyst on Indian tv was joked to be as unfit as our captain.

His batting and keeping form was pretty decent from 2014 to 2017, there is a reason he successfully managed to keep Adnan and Kamran Akmal out of the team. But sadly it all went downhill for him from the CT onwards.

Some people might have missed his "my answer is the same" comment which also brought a lot of embarrassment to Pak fans. This guy has thick brain as well. Surely not as street smart as people claimed him to be.
