The public and private sector companies of Pakistan have signed dozens of investment agreements since the beginning of Expo 2020 in Dubai in October 2021, revealed Pakistan’s Ambassador to the United Arab Emirates (UAE) Afzaal Mahmood.

In an interview on Monday, the envoy said that memoranda of understanding (MOUs) had been signed in the fields of infrastructure, housing, water management, waste management and trade in goods and services.

“At Pakistan’s pavilion, there is a dedicated space where investors are informed about investment opportunities in Pakistan,” he said. “Each month, a new Pakistani province or region is in the spotlight whose relevant exhibits are showcased to promote trade and investment in that area.”

The federal and provincial governments of Pakistan are offering avenues of investment to foreigners in various sectors including infrastructure, energy, manufacturing, housing and tourism.

The envoy pointed out that the embassy and Consulate General of Pakistan were reaching out to the local business community to raise awareness of investment opportunities in the country.

The Pakistan pavilion at Expo 2020 Dubai has launched a week-long film festival, where 11 popular movies from the region will be screened.

From Ali Zafar's blockbuster film Teefa in Trouble to Nabeel Qureshi's critically-acclaimed Load Wedding, the film festival is set to showcase the Pakistani film industry's versatility and talent.

The Pakistani pavilion is the best among the South Asian ones, in fact it is probably the best Asian pavilion after Japan and Korea and Singapore.

Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi on Thursday visited the Pakistani Pavilion at Dubai Expo 2020 and appreciated the unique design and efforts of the organisers.

Pakistan's Ambassador to the United Arab Emirates Afzal Mahmood, Consul General of Pakistan in Dubai Hassan Afzal Khan and Director of Pavilion Rizwan Tariq received the foreign minister.

The director pavilion gave a detailed briefing to the foreign minister on the design and features of the Pakistani Pavilion.

The pavilion is divided into seven different sections, including Pakistan's history, culture and tourism.

So far, about one million people have visited the Pakistani Pavilion at Expo 2020. Due to its unique design, it is among the top five pavilions at the expo, which is considered a great honour for Pakistan.

Foreign Minister Qureshi also visited the pavilion of Saudi Arabia, where Saudi Assistant Commissioner General Hussain Hanbazazah welcomed him.

Appreciating the design and features of the Saudi Pavilion, the foreign minister described it as a reflection of the Vision 2030 of Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman.

Later, he visited the pavilions of Turkey and the United Arab Emirates where he was given a briefing about the culture and history of the countries.

Now all we have to do is make our Pakistan a better place then Dubai! Let me know when it's done.

Brilliant

but the issue is the huge queues so best thing to do is to register for smart queues via app so you get to bypass

Good atmosphere and facilities but then that is Dubai!

Queues are huge all day in the bigger stalls since its last 2 weeks of expo . 2 hours for Germany isnt rare now (in earlier days it used to be 30 min max).
Weather is great this weekend but last 2 weekends were 35C+

Nice pictures.

I went to the expo thinking it was going to be a roadshow with small booths but the effort and detail they have put in is extraordinary and its a truly immersive experience.

Saudi Arabia’s capital Riyadh chosen to host the 2030 World Expo

ISSY-LES-MOULINEAUX, France (AP) — Saudi Arabia’s capital Riyadh was chosen Tuesday to host the 2030 World Expo following its bid that focused on shaping a prosperous and sustainable future, beating out Rome and the South Korean port city of Busan for an event expected to draw millions of visitors.

Members of the Paris-based Bureau International des Expositions chose Riyadh with a majority of 119 out of 165 votes during a closed-door meeting in the suburb of Issy-les-Moulineaux. Busan got 29 votes and Rome 17. The result was greeted with cheers by the Saudi delegation.

Saudi Arabia’s foreign minister, Prince Faisal bin Farhan, welcomed the vote as an “expression of the trust that the international community has in what we have to offer… but also in its alignment with our own vision (for) 2030 and everything that we advocate for, which is a shared pathway to prosperity for all of the countries of the world.”

“We are committed to living up to the expectations and delivering an extraordinary expo,” he said.

The Saudi plans include a major public transit network and a futuristic, round space with public parks, e-game facilities, large scale performance stages and sport venues. The project includes a focus on “accelerating innovations” to preserve natural ecosystems.

“The legacy of Riyadh Expo 2030 will go beyond the buildings,” Prince Faisal added, promising “fantastic” architecture. “We are about a journey, a journey that brings the world together... So that will be the legacy, working together for a brighter, more prosperous future.”

Saudi Arabia hopes the Expo will bring 40 million of visitors to its capital city.
