What's new

Say what you want, but Babar Azam is still Pakistan’s most gifted batter

So this brigade is of the view Younis was a good Odi batsmen ( to say the very least) whereas Babar is pathetic, though both played in different era but still any sane person will pick Babar over YK in ODIS

Na mate. Let me correct you. Younis was not a good ODI batter. He was a “proper” ODI batter (y)

That makes Babar an “improper” ODI batter. (n)

Cricinfo!! 🤣

Sorry mate, we rely on what we saw with our eyes, not what’s written on a website.

So the counter arguments are:

1. Younis Khan wasn’t a great ODI Batsman
2. Crapinfo told me Babar was better

Do better. Honestly, Sayacorps must start paying more

Ok fam. It's not just a website, it's one of the leading cricket authorities in the game. Probably older than you too.

Anyways, do your eyes have some other metrics for impact?

What a sorry state of affairs for you.

Having suffered years of torment, embarrassment and humiliation being the fool who defended 2 kori players like Babar and Rizwan,

Now looking for some respite at picking a subject that literally makes NO DIFFERENCE to anyone’s life. What change will come to your unfortunate situation by proving YK was great or not in ODI cricket? It still doesn’t change the fact that you are clueless about cricket in general :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO:

Coping mech Rana jee? You're the one that's been tormented for 5 years. There was a glimmer of hope in your eyes recently that RizBar were dropped. Well one of them is back due to public demand and the other will make it back on merit.

What merit? Care to explain?

What we are saying is that despite Younis not being great in ODIs, taking quality of eras, quality of opposition in to consideration, I’d still pick YK ahead of Babar every day of the week and twice on Sundays.

What merit is right. We are currently lacking it as Pakistan's best wicket keeper is sitting out for inferior options
Our best six hitter is sitting out for a washed up white ball better in the name of Babar Azam in T20 cricket. That’s merit??????

Rizwan is leading the sixes chart but I know you're not talking about him so who is it? I hope you're not gonna say captain Asif Ali

Leading the sixes chart where? In his local club in Peshawar? How many balls per six?

How many balls per six??

These are facts broski!

I dunno how many balls per six but I would imagine Rizwan to be competitive on that front since he does have the most sixes. I think the top contender for that would be Hasan Nawaz. Both him and Rizwan aren't in the team.

give us some more of your facts.

How many sixes has Pakistan hit in 2025 in which Rizwan didnt face a single ball?

I've answered most of your questions yet you still haven't answered who is Babar keeping out

you dug a hole.

Now you will fill it up.

Ill take your shirking away from the last question posed as a sign of your defeat in this argument? Or you want to tell me how many sixes Pakistan hit in 2025 without Rizwan facing a single delivery?

I'd have to do a bit of research into that stat. Not shirking away as I know that there will be a caveat but explaining it you is like talking to a wall.

Still waiting to find the name of the genius that Babar is keeping out

So whats the number of sixes Pakistan hit in 2025 without its leading all time six hitter Mohammad Rizwan?

Anyway every expert and player with any dignity not the ones on YouTube for cheap views rate Babar whether that is Ponting, Pietersen, Wasim Akram, Cummins whoever. It's safe to assume they know more about cricket than our friends @Rana @TheSultan , Wasay, Iffi etc.

I'm sure Rana and TheSultan are regular watchers of Iffi and Wasay which tells you their mentality.

Babar isn't an ideal T20 player. Ideally you will want him to have a better acceleration at the end, a better striking ability against spinners.

Also his Overall SR not being that good comes from playing a lot in Dubaï at the start of his career.
His away averzge/SR in SENA is fine :
Vs Australia : 32/140
Vs England : 43/142
Vs NZ : 49/134
Vs SA : 44/147
He often does well on wickets with some pace in them, because he Just has to time the ball to the boundary.

Regarding upcoming wolrd cup being in SL and India, we don't know how the wickets will behave.
But his stats in countries with less prepared track aren't good : Bangladesh, Zimbabwe, West Indies.

So whats the number of sixes Pakistan hit in 2025 without its leading all time six hitter Mohammad Rizwan?

Ok so 225 sixes in the year so far. Good achievement although the caveat being that we've played 32 matches so far, twice more than Aus, Ind, SA, Eng.

At the same time our avg run rate has dropped and we have one of the worst dot ball ratios

So, has Pakistan hit that ratio of sixes with Rizwan in the side? Their leading six hitter? That’s an average of 7 sixes per game?

He's faced unjust criticism for the longest time. Now he knows the fans are behind him and even all the pundits that were criticizing him earlier are also supporting him now. He's got some runs so hopefully the confidence stays

Delusional. Getting some runs against Zimbabwe somehow makes you optimistic about his future? What kind of joke is this? 🤣

No offence, but you guys are starting to sound like Indian Sachin cult coming out with random statements from people calling him “King” etc.

And random statements like “ven he make 50, ve vin”. What nonsense is that? Take the last match - he made - 50 and Farhan made an even better 50 at a better strike rate - who’s is more valuable? Don’t piggy back off other performances to make Babar look good.

Honestly, it’s such a shame our fans have become just like the sachinista Indian fans clutching at straws to prop up their hero.

What a shame. Now go and reflect on what you’ve become
POTW

Again cherrypicking matches or talking about subjective/ He has had a lean patch lately and no one is denying that.

ICC World Cup 2021 (UAE)
  • Runs: 303 in 6 innings
  • Average: 60.6 | Strike Rate: 126.2
  • 50s: 4 | HS: 70
  • Highlights:
    • Top run-scorer of the tournament
    • Key innings: 68* vs India (historic 10-wicket win)

ICC ODI World Cup 2023 (India)
  • Runs: 320 in 9 innings
  • Average: 40.0 | Strike Rate: 82.9
  • 50s: 4 | HS: 74

Asia Cup 2023 (ODI)
  • Runs: 207 in 4 innings
  • Average: 51.75 | Strike Rate: 97.6

He wasn't his usual self stiill did alright in the tournaments above despite failing in others. Again I'm entertaining you but you can't judge players by individual tournaments or else Inzi, Yousuf etc. failed miserably in the 2003 and 2007 World Cups. I rate those 2 highly and so do most sane people.

Anyway how many legends have won a World Cup match against India? I'll help you none. Cherrypicking doesn't prove anything. You probably called the SA side that beat Pakistan in tests a B/C team too but most of those same players are destroying India now. Anyway regardless of what you say people will forget all the nonsense you haters spewed and Babar will break most of the Pakistani records and many other records like he does. He will be remembered as a legend and you guys can keep crying "sachinista", "ve vin", "zimbabar", "talunt", "Asif Ali Captain" and whatever other nonsense you'll come up with lol

Have a good day.

You basically exposed your agenda for everyone to see.

I guess you thought we had forgotten that Babar averaged under 20 with a strike rate of less than run a ball in the 2022 WT20. I’m not so concerned with the average because all players can lose form but that strike rate is unforgivable and should’ve led to his retirement in the shortest format. I suspect this is why you were selective with the stats you chose to disclose.

I really like this Pakistan all time odi XI.
We have some great posters who can make great teams on this forum.

Well well well - another day, another quack.

Anyone still feel any justification to continue with Babs in T20s?

Nobody cares about Sachin in this thread... WHY??

Because THIS THREAD IS NOT ABOUT SACHIN, SO MOVE ON

Babar Azam while speaking to Kevin Pietersen on the YouTube show:

“Beating India means a lot to me. 2022 (2021), when we beat India in T20I. For me, it was one of the best memories I have. First time, as a Pakistan captain, I defeated India in the World Cup, India vs Pakistan is next level. It’s massive,”

“I want to win an ICC trophy. We were in the finals, but we lost. That’s why I am working hard on my fitness and skills. I am trying to be fitter. Now, my body is acting differently, but I am still sharp,”
