Great start for scotland... ICC would hope this is not an upset. It would further embarass them for shrinking the WC.

Facepalm worthy start from England and great stuff from Scotland.

300+ on board looks likely at this stage which will require England to take their run chase very seriously and play good cricket, otherwise we could see an upset here.

And the hundred is already up for Scotland inside 14 overs. But they’ve lost the wicket of Coetzer, their captain.

Excellent by Scotland. What a boost if we can win this.

Pitch is flat and due to no rain for a few weeks outfield is rapid. 340 minimum required.

With this flat pitch and small boundaries - the key will be whether Scottish bowlers can contain England's powerful batting lineup.

They'll need at least 325 to work with. Scotland have given themselves a chance with this attacking display.

Scotland batting well but still can't see them winning this. This pitch is flat and boundaries are small, even 350 won't be enough for the hosts. If they can somehow get closer to 380 they have a chance but I'd still say England needn't be worried.

Eng have a history of getting beaten by minnows.
370+ is not easy on any pitch

Still can’t see England going in as favourites for the World Cup with this garbage bowling attack

Poor selection from England, they missed 6th bolwer big time.

Yes Stokes is injured but they could have played someone else who could have added something with bowl when you already have batting till no 10.

Moin is someone who can be used for 4-5 overs in ODIs and if bowling well might bowl a bit more. Bowling him as a full time bowler with no cover in the form of 6th bowler is pretty odd.

Macleod kind of innings were expected from Umar Akmal when he first burst into the scene but rest is history....

He bowled most economical of all the bowlers.

Poor bowling by England but credit to Scotland. Game isn't over yet though. England are certainly capable of chasing this down.

Yes he did but 6th bowler is not only to cover moin but whenever anyone is having a bad day 6th bowler is always good to have. Also moin is not a front line bowler in ODIs, he is an all rounder and I would say more of a batting all rounder considering his bowling record in LOIs. His bowling avg of 49 suggests that he isnt someone regular but yes he can be economical at times.
They became number 1 in ODIs with having the luxury of stokes, they wouldnt have done it with just 5 bowlers out pf which none is world beater.

Thought Bairstow would be more suited to batting in the middle order for LO cricket but England backed him as an opener. Seems to be the right decision.

England 107/0 after 10 overs and now looking favourites to win the match.

Not watching it but obviously just a flat pitch with village boundaries.

146 off 134 balls with 7 wickets left, should be a doddle.

Could be a close game but England should still win this warm up :ashwin

Certain posters are in a bit of dilemma. They have to work out what makes them happier, Moeen failing or England winning :yk2

OOooooo the little Scots getting a little fiesty, I like it; will be more enjoyable when we take all that hope away from you at the last moment :afridi

Yesterday I bowled for the time since last August/September. It was Rashid-esque :mv

Scotland playing some fantastic cricket. No wonder PCB selected a strong squad for the t20I series. Calum Mac take a bow. Well done lad.

I hope Scotland win this.2 new batsmen on the crease. Both need big knocks to establish themselves and get back into the England setup.Pressure could get to them.Or they may yet chase this.Exciting finish in store.

With Asif Ali and Hussain Talat coming through now there is a possibility of us scoring 350 in an ODI as well, even scots are doing that. Fingers crossed

England should still be able to win this, but well done Scotland. Pakistan cannot take them lightly.

7 down not looking good for your hopes to take it away from us! :asad2
C'mon Scotland!

This is an excellent opportunity for Scotland to claim for more games against full members.Ireland,Zimbabwe and Afghanistan should play them regularly thats for sure.

If only the ODI World Cup had more teams...

Win or lose Eng has selected this playing XI as Pak does sometimes and that is without any rational thinking.

Pak in the series against eng was a perfect xi though we lost last match but still it was the best team combinations in the ground if we ignore that babar was injured. Unlike when Pak played against Srl, it was complete blunder of an XI in UAE.

In this match why would you have 5 bowlers with Moen as 5th in an ODI and when you have so called all rounders till 8 down.

Still after cricket being developed so much as game we see such kind of irrational decisions in team selection and strategies.

Winning or losing is part of the game but atleast put your best combination on the field. When you have so many players who can bat and ball and you still cant get sixth bowler in while your team has gone for 370 runs against a team which isnt even in top 10 is medoicre stuff.

Think England put their best team as Stokes and Buttler are injured. Moeen is regular in odis.

The same team structure had us restrict Australia to an average total of 277 (ignoring their successful chase of our low total) in Australia.

I would have preferred

Bairstow
Roy
Root
Morgan
Billings
Moen
Willey
Rashid
Plunkett
Curran/or any other bowling all rounder as they have few coming through
Wood

Ah where is James Vince when you need him Big Mac

Yes but a team with no world beating bowler and 5th bowler averaging 49 is gonna struggle big time more often than not and you are missing one big point and that is:

In the series which you are referring to Joe Root bowled more overs in a series than he has in any other series. This shows that England went with the mindset that yes we might need a 6th bowler and Joe might be able to do the job and he did to some extent. In this match they went with an unprepared plan and different mindset as while going for so many runs Eoin still didnt take risk of bowling root as the 6th option. They might have underestimated Scotland here as there simply was no plan B.

He is sometimes a treat to watch would love to give him opening opportunity in tests instead of Stoneman. Atleast he has the potential to become a good player.
