Interested in creating a list of players who would often get lost somewhere in the Gold or Silver categories, but have the potential and skills required to assert dominance if selected and entrusted with gametime.

Sandeep Lamichhane – Lamichhane's had a superb start to his career in domestic T20 leagues, impressed for Delhi Daredevils and has an economy rate of 4.54 in this season’s Carribean Premier League, where the average 1st innings total is 190. Extremely confident, oldschool legspinner who deceives the batsmen in flight.

Zahir Khan – Averaging 15.27 with a strike-rate of 12.3 after 12 T20s. Picked up by Rajashtan Royals and Multan Sultans this season, but did not feature in any games. He is currently enjoying a successful stint with Lancashire. Additionally, with Pakistan having no left-arm legspinner in its ranks, the exposure would be invaluable for the batsmen. (In case you haven't, head over to this excellent thread on Pakistan's left-arm wrist-spinner situation by mak36 http://www.pakpassion.net/ppforum/s...if-Pakistan-produces-a-left-arm-wrist-spinner)

Shimron Hetmyer – Hetmyer smashed a 49-ball century in only his 6th T20 innings to carry Guyana to the top of the table. Hetmyer’s season strike-rate, as of this writing, is a staggering 181.96 and he seems to be enjoying Shoaib Malik’s confidence. Granted that the quality of bowling he is expected to face in the PSL will be massively different, Hetmyer proved himself against a spin-heavy Bangladesh bowling attack, spearheaded by Shakib Al Hassan, while all his teammates faltered.

Akila Dananjaya – Dananjaya finished the series against South Africa as the highest wicket-taker, having taken 14 wickets at an average of 17.45 and an economy rate of 5.95, garnering praise from Quinton de Kock. While Dananjaya primarily bowls offbreaks, he does have an effective googly and a legbreak in his repertoire. His unorthodox bowling style first led to him being inducted back into the national side, and then earned him a contract with the Mumbai Indians. Combine his guile with Pakistan’s woes against mystery spinners like Ajantha Mendis in the past, Dananjaya would be a lethal weapon to have for any franchise on turning pitches.

Delray Rawlins – Presumably the least known of the lot, Rawlins is a Bermuda-born batsman who has climbed up the ranks at Sussex. Rawlins is a powerful batsman with a clean swing, and has scored 122 runs at 9.12 RPO. Rawlins made his England U19s debut on the side’s tour to India, where he struck a match-winning century in his first game. Rawlins ended the tour with 275 runs, averaging 68.75 in alien, spin-friendly conditions. Rawlins was the only batsman from both sides to display the power needed in modern-day hittings, which was further proved when got 21 runs of Keshav Maharaj over in a tour match between South Africa and Sussex. Rawlins fits the mould of an international players, and will don the English colors within the next few years.

In addition to Rawlins, Alex Davies, Ed Pollock, Laurie Evans and Joe Clarke have all been fantastic for their counties. Pollock and Evans have emerged as true power hitters like Lynn or Narine, and their game is modelled perfectly for the shortest format. In each edition, teams have not shyed away from targeting English players. Malan, Dawson and Jordan enjoyed a fair share of success with Zalmi, Billings at Islamabad, Luke Wright at Quetta and Denly and Bopara formed the backbone of Karachi’s batting unit last season.

Deliberately refrained from suggesting household names like Rashid Khan who have already established themselves as global stars. Please suggest the lesser-known names that you would want to see franchises go after, and believe could be successful in the Pakistan Super League environment.

Quality of overseas talent can be a lot better in PSL if the scouts do a better job. Last season PSL missed out the chance to even make players like David Miller, Ben Cutting available for the draft, players who can walk into any T20 league in the world and they would have travelled to Pakistan too.

I'm sure they're are going to add the usual lot of English county nobodies. Even though they can get more exciting players in the lower categories like: Mujeeb Ur Rehman, Lamichhane, Shanaka, Reeza Hendricks, Zahir Khan.

I'd also add the names of ,

Sherfane Rutherford is another one.

Looks like he has played a blinder today. The CPL is finally bearing fruit for West Indies. They have so much raw talent coming up, now it is up to them how to utilise it. Their selectors need to discard a lot of their useless seniors and invest in these young players, and give them a proper run in the side

Agreed but I am not optimistic. Stuart Law/selectors seem a bit reliant on the seniors in the shorter format. The likes of Samuels should be nowhere near the national side.

Maybe things will get better for them after the 2019 WC, just like things got better for us after 2015 WC. Stuart Law isn’t a bad coach, hopefully he sees sense and gets some of these new guys into the ODI side. He has done a fairly decent job with their test team; obviously there’s still a lot of room for improvement there too.

You can get a much, much better Roster of players as long as they move the PSL schedule after the IPL.

Let these overseas big gun players give priority to crazy money first and they would love to then top it off with extra decent cash afterwards
