Shadab Khan and Faheem Ashraf Inclusion

It is now becoming a joke as to how much of a free ride Shadab keeps getting because of his so called special batting prowess. The guy has been bowling like a part timer and has been costing us in the middle overs for ages now. He feasts on minnows but routinely gets whacked against the big teams. There is absolutely no hunger from him to develop his bowling as he knows he can keep playing league cricket all over the world and not be put under any pressure from the PCB to play first class 4 day cricket.

Faheem Ashraf has never ever delivered with the bat for Pakistan in T-20 and ODI Cricket, his bowling is very toothless and his is a very defensive selection. Pakistan needed to invest in Aamir Jamal who can atleast bowl at 136-144 km/hr and provide Pakistan with a wicket taking option.

Yeah don’t need these bits and pieces players. These are not match winners with the bat. We need explosive all rounders, big hitters who can change the dynamic of a match. Someone like Hafeez, a gamechanger.

This. Just play specialists dammit. These bits n pieces all rounders get hammered with the ball and get cleaned up with the bat.

Also..I am totally amazed at shah Nawaz Dhani’s inclusion… On WHAT basis has he been called to the team? because he was benched even during emerging Asia cup for his poor performance in Initial games..and Arshad Iqbal who was Pakistan’s best fast bowler in that tournament is ignored….? Also heard Dhani was smashed by Zimbabwe A? What has he done to earn that call up? Never thought Mickey and Grant could be this dumb…
Also…the less said about Faheem Ashraf the allrounder..the better.. why is Amir Jamal not considered remains a mystery…
Abrar should be considered for spin department also..but Pak think tank will never make a bold call..

Pakistan never really developed any decent all rounder or spinner and since the corrupts Zaka Ashraf and the gang have returned I can see the team slowly descending into the mess it was back in 2013.

All teams including SENA have specialist spinners ; realizing they are going to india. Pak is the only team that doesn't have a specialist spinner.

Faheem Ashraf once again failed to impress the sectors and missed out on the squad for the 2023 world cup while Shadab retains his spot as a player and vice-captain. Faheem's exclusion was not that shocking, to be honest. He should not have been in Asia cup squad as well but now that Hassan ali is back, what can we expect from him?

Q: Faheem Ashraf was given a chance in the Asia Cup, but dropped afterwards. What has been the rationale behind that?

IuH: We had the opportunity to name 17 players for the Asia Cup but this time we could name 15 players only. So we had to look on the team combination closely. We realised that winning matches in India requires proper fast bowling options who can get you wickets, especially in the middle. So we have tried to make sure that we pick bowlers who can get us wickets.
