Drop one, alongside Babar. Strengthen the batting and bring both Fakhar and Nafay. Get some sense into the XI.

Get Faheem to bowl line/length every match. Play Mirza or Naseem alongside him. Drop Shaheen.

Both actually but for this WC . Nawaz is better . Shadab needs to go . Funny we dropped Muqeem for him 🤣🤣

Ideally both.

But Shadab is a LOT worse.

He has lost us countless matches specially in tournaments.

Cannot fathom how he keeps getting selected right before ICC tournaments!!!

You can keep both or drop both and get someone new, the result won't change.

The current character of the Pak team is that when the pressure is on them, regardless of who they are, they tend to fall apart. Yes, I know I glaze about him a lot but there's a reason why IK has the stature is because he challenged himself to do well in pressure situations.

Both Nawaz and Shadab are decent'ish players and will do ok in the next match and in matches against NZ and England as well. However, they won't be able to handle the pressure of an Indo-Pak match because they just don't have the mental strength.

You can pull any random name from the domestic cricket and the result will be the same.

When India started IPL back in 2007, they didn't have a single big hitter other than Yuvraj. Laxman was the captain of Hyderabad franchise and players like Symmonds and Afridi were rare. 20 years later they have more hitters than anyone else in the entire world and even their U19 players can walk into many if not all teams.

The revival of Pak cricket needs to start from first admitting that we cannot be number 1 at the moment so let these players off the ultimate pressure that they face. There's literally nothing that a visit from PCB head can do before a match so such kind of topi dramas need to end.

Get back to the drawing board and work on the game from scratch. Build PSL, invest money in it and get big players to come, build better domestic pitches so players know how to play, & then just wait till success eventually lands in your lap.

Pakistan is clearly capable of beating all other teams in the tournament but at the moment they do not have the mental capacity to take on India.

I get that the gulf between ind and pak is huge but that is no excuse to forego good decision making. Not selecting any proper batter in the xi, batting second, and stuffing your xi with bits and piecers is bad prep. Doesn’t matter if we didn’t have a chance either way, we should still be doing the basics right.

When you batting line up is weak, why make it more weaker? In no sane team selection, would you have Faheem, Nawaz and Shadab in the same playing 11. Quite simple, replace them with Farkhar & Khawaja and instantly this strengthens your team. Shaheen can be replaced by Naseem and Babar can be replaced by Mirza. Pick one out of Faheem, Shadab & Nawaz.
This will be a balanced team and have a chance to make the semis, if the management team have some guts.

Nawaz has performances in the last 12 months although it was mainly against weaker oppositions.

Shadab on the other hand has been in decline for a number of years with no notable performances.

Shadab is the worst “leg spinner” all rounder to ever play for Pakistan.

Bullies garbage teams and then gets shown his true colours against an actual decent batting line up

doesn’t matter who they drop but yes one of them needs to make way for nafay. Babar needs to make way for fakhar. Shaheen needs to make way for mirza

These are simple logical decisions that Hesson is not able to make. I am really starting to dislike his coaching

Ever since shadab came into xi, Faheem Has totally stopped bowling

Some Agenda is at play all the time in Pakistan camp

Shadab definitely.

M Nawaz still has utility. He bowled okay today. He was also striking well but the ground was huge and he found the fielder.

We should've never let him play the big bash after he looked somewhat rhythm in the Asia cup. There is no way he can recover after getting injured and he has already lost his charm after he got injured four years ago.

I would drop both and bring in Fakhar and Nafay. Pak still has better spin bowling options in Abrar and Tariq. Saim and Agha as back up

Yup.

M Nawaz is not needed because Saim can do the same job. Even Agha can do a similar job as we saw today.

Atleast Nawaz has control over his bowling but needs fk stop pretending to be an “all-rounder”…

Shadab needs to go

Pak plays 2 proper fast bowlers - Mirza and Naseem

2 spinners - Tariq and Abrar

1 all rounder - Faheem or shadab or Nawaz

Back up bowlers - Saim and Agha

Farhan
Saim
Salman
Babar
Fakhar
Usman
Nawaz
Naseem
Mirza
Abrar
Tariq

The word all rounder is held high in the cricketing world, likes of sobers Imran Clive rice Hadlee have graced the field.

Shadab Ayub faheem shaheen nawaz are relu kattey

I don't follow PCT much outside of the ICC events, so pardon me if I say something factually wrong. Didn't Naqvi say that the team will undergo a major surgery post 2024 T20 WC debacle? I remember Pak fans were enthusiastic about having a totally fresh team, I believe Agha, Abrar, Farhan were part of that fresh set up. I was busy during the last Asia cup so couldn't quite follow the matches closely, other than the results. So my question is: if that “surgery” actually happened, why are Babar, Shaheen, Shadab, Fakhar, Nawaz, and Faheem still in the side? That’s like removing an appendix and then putting it back in before stitching the patient up lmao. The core looks largely the same as 2024. Was that so-called overhaul simply about sidelining Rizwan, Amir, and Imad?

Based on the team that Pakistan have - neither. They should drop Abrar because they already have a better performing right-arm finger-spinner who can also bat in the top-order. At the end of the day, it's still Sri Lanka and you need to have multiple spinners in the side.

saqlain on ptv sports shamelessly defending his waste of space son in law Shadab.. blaming coaching staff, his after the head coach role.. sums up pak in a nutshell.

If you are using 18 overs spin every match why do you even need seamers?

This is the exact sifarish BS reason why Pakistan team is down in the dumps these days.

Shadab has to go... No way we decided to scrap Sufiyan for this trundler over hyped guy... Total brainless selection
