Shadab Khan speaking during a TV show about Babar Azam:

"This is an extra burden on him (Babar Azam). I was watching a meme where a guy commented that, unfortunately, at that moment, Babar Azam wasn't performing well and that guy said, 'Please bring Hassan Ali back so he can say on the media, 'The King won’t do it; only then Babar Azam will perform.' A lot of pressure has been put on Babar Azam. Although he never asked for this, we all together have put him under immense pressure. Now he is playing more freely. So, Insha’Allah, he will perform well."

About Babar Azam's form in T20Is:

"Every player needs improvement because, as a team, the way modern cricket is being played today, we are lagging behind. We all have to play a crucial role in this. For example, Babar Azam played with a strike rate of 130, but his average is 50. When his average drops to 30, his strike rate will likely increase. However, we want him to be consistent with a strike rate of 170-180, which is a bit unrealistic. Yes, we should give him fair time to improve his game, and then we can criticize. But we don’t even give any player enough time to establish themselves. Then we say, 'No, this player is not good; bring a new one.'"

An international player who is playing for 8-9 years should know how to sustain the pressure from crowd or media. This cannot be an excuse for continuous non-performance

Babar has got maximum opportunity in last 8-9 years, he got VIP treatment in every aspect of each format. He has played maximum no. of T20s and played at position of his choice. This is applicable only for those players who never got fair chances and were utilized with "Use & throw approach"

Like Faisal Iqbal, Khurram Manzoor, Khalid Latif?

Majority of these posters only want players from a certain city to play for Pakistan. They will only support Pak team if it is full of players from that region. They aren't fans.
I agree with you it has indeed become an issue. People from that region are often regarded as lacking sense, and they are not only ruining cricket but also harming the country as a whole after bringing national Shame to the country.

Zimbo is terrible player he has chance now to redeem himself a little bit by winning the champions trophy.

This regional lobbying is one of the worst things in any sports. I am also against creating superstar culture, which prevails in all Asian teams, fans blindly support individual players performances instead of team

But we don’t want him to be consistent with a strike rate or 170-180. Who says that we do??
We are happy to accept inconsistency if he can be explosive.
If he can’t be, then make way.

The same Shadab who called himself Wazir because he was the vice captain?

These guys made the whole King charade themselves and are now running away from it.

Next we'll have

"Bro we shouldn’t call rizwan t20 bradman, ik we called him t20 bradman on twitter magar it puts too much pressure on him 🫠".

We really need to move past this stardom culture now. A star should be someone who helps us win games and cups, not someone the media or players label as a star.

Yes. Starting the whole king charade was stupid considering Babar hadn't really set the world alight when it was started and he still hasn't.

How can you expect him to be explosive when he hasn't worked on his power hitting or increasing the range of his shots in all these years?

You didn’t understand what I meant.
I just said that Shadab is claiming that fans expect Babar to be consistent with a strike rate of 170-180. But do we? I don’t expect him to be consistent, I want him to be explosive.

Whether he can be and if he’s worked on it is an entirely different discussion.

Even expecting him to be explosive is an unrealistic dream atm. Cause he hasn't worked on any aspect to nurture it. The best he can do atm is show some positivity and intent (even though i hate how overused the word intent has become in cricket)

it's their PR teams doing these foolish things. Same thing for Shaheen "they cannot play him" - now everyone smashes him around.

Look at Asif -"hor saday laiq" crap after hitting couple of sixes. He is nowhere near the team.

The players need to get rid of their childish PR teams and learn to be humble and grateful.

Shadab Khan on replying to female celebrities:

“Most female actors claim that cricketers send messages to them on social media, so have you ever messaged any actors?” a fan asked during the show.

“Even if cricketers send messages, what is wrong with that?”

“Everybody has the option to block so if you don’t like then don’t reply, however, there are also replies from actors and they appear to show interest as well — as if they want to talk,”
