It was tactical errors in last 4 overs can't put blame on one guy

You are being too harsh on a 21 year old baby in international cricket.![]()

Lol you would be calling for the head if an Indian player had done this![]()

I don't think Hassan's dropped catch or Afridi's poor last over were the only reasons for defeat. Throughout Pakistan and Australia's innings, there were several occasions when Pakistan could have done things better - better batting against spinners, run out chances, dropped catches, better thought though bowling etc.
However, everyone remembers only the last 5 overs. Unfair.
Shaheen should have bowled 3 overs upfront.
The catch cost the game they wouldn't have got thier if they caught it.
2016 T20 WC semi Rahane 40 off 35
2021 T20 WC semi Babbar 39 off 34
Anyone sees any similarity?
In the IPL I have seen pacers resort to full blooded outside off stump yorkers when they are dealing with a dangerous hitter in the zone. In this format there are times when the bowler has to realize he can't get a wicket and needs to desperately bowl a dot delivery instead. This is a skill that Pakistani bowlers need to learn against the best T20 batting line up's
(I want a Shaheen Afridi Emoji!)I would have brought Shaheen on when Wade/Stoinis partnership started to blossom.
I just think shaheen should be bowling most of his overs upfront as he's way better upfront than at the death.
Finally, some praise and admiration for IPL! And, admission of our neighbor watching it secretly(I want a Shaheen Afridi Emoji!)
If you watched the game the bubble burst within Pakistan team with that catch. all the players were almost on their knees. SHaheen was OUT of it at that point. That drop catch was THE pivotal moment. Shaheen gave up as did the rest of the Pakistani team. they were emotionally exhausted by the dropped catch

Professionals shouldn’t let a “bubble burst”. After the dropped catch the “win predictor” still favored Pakistan with 56%. It actually rose from 55% from the previous ball.

It of course would have been even higher than 56% if the catch had been taken, but Pakistan was still very much in the game. Regardless of setbacks, professionals shouldn’t give up when they still have a chance to win, however small. And Pakistan was actually still favored to win.
Do you actually take win predictor seriously? LOL.
Idk that wasn't an easy catch as hassan had to make a lot of ground and wasn't even feeling well at the end of his over, that ball itself was a poor delivery I actually thought it was going to be six but fell short, I think Shaheen was gonna be smacked for sixes regardless of the outcome of that catch. He just lost his momentum from his first spell.
I take it more seriously than your analysis such as “Maxwell is the only dangerous Aussie batter left”.
The predictor is based on statistical analysis of previous games. Maybe you didn’t take statistics seriously too.
That was not my analysis. LOL. It was a commentary thread where things move very fast.
You clearly have a faulty understanding of the definition of "analysis".
You also give too much emphasize on irrelevant statistics.
So "Maxwell only" was not your opinion but someone from the commentary thread. It is not honest to quote without attribution.
Statistics makes a probabilistic prediction. Maybe random posters on the internet can make better predictions than the "win predictor", but I doubt it.
You are mudding the water and being very pretentious here.
Why would I post an analysis on a commentary thread? Commentary threads are like chat rooms. Things move fast. Posters post fast.
Win predictor is a joke and anyone who follows cricket regularly is unlikely to take it seriously.
Maybe watching too much IPL is making you focus too much on irrelevant statistics.
Indians seem hell bent on blaming it on Shaheen.
I agree.
IMO we need to find a bowler who hits the deck hard, to complement Shaheen in the PP.

I am surprised no one has mentioned this. Wasim Akram has mentioned this that there are times in T-20 cricket where the batsman is just on an unstoppable roll and given the fast paced nature of the format and the critical match situation, sometimes the bowler just falls under pressure and cannot think for himself instantly. In this situation, it is vital that the captain, the vice captain, wicket keeper, senior players form a huddle or go up to the bowler to calm him down, get him to take a break for a minute or two and give him suggestions on what to bowl precisely given the form the batsman is and what is the likeliest way to get a dot ball.
This is what the likes of Babar, Rizwan, Hafeez and Shoaib Malik are there. What was the point of having Hafeez, Malik in the squad if they were not going to provide the side their experience. Surely someone could have suggested to Shaheen to bowl a wife outside the offstump full blooded 90 mph plus yorker to either get a dot ball or to restrict the batsman to a single. If Wade and Stoinos would have gotten only 2-3 of the next 3 deliveries. That would have left 16-17 runs to get of the final over.
I was very dissapointed to see the captain and the senior players not play their roles properly given that scenario. I have seen Dhoni do stuff like in very tight games loads of time and even come out on top. Who can forget the India Bangladesh T-20 WC match in 2016.

The whole team was shell shocked after the Hassan over and then the drop catch
20 off 6 is peanuts these days when the momentum is with you, this was still 20 off 12 to begin the over with, the drop catch just confirmed to everyone that this match is gone now. Plus I feel there was no confidence in Rauf saving the game even if he had 10-12 runs to play with.
These are not good enough excuses. A team like Australia would never give up from this situation, they will make you fight and earn every run.
You can’t compare the two nations when it comes to sporting mindset. There is no other sporting nation in the world that can rival the Australian mindset, even the US in comparison is a myth.
Shaheen should bowl 3 in the powerplay and one over after the time out break.
After this, he has no business besides fielding at long on!
