Shaheen Shah 15 wickets in 5 games.

Ridiculous talent.

Great comeback by shahen. It’s a pity we didn’t make the semis otherwise he would have ended up as our highest wicket taker

At last a 5fer by a Pakistan's bowler amid ina dead rubber

What a pathetic way to describe this achievement.

If anyone, SSA deserves all the accolades. Him and young Hasan will help us get back to best Asian bowling team.

Shaheen shah

- 16 wickets in 6 matches

- tail ender wickets = only 3

- youngest player to take 5 wickets in world cup matches

- best figures for Pakistan in world cups. Previous best was by Shahid afridi.

Take a bow son. Take a freaking bow.

Forget the 5fer it’s refreshing to see a Pakistani bowler bowl with the seam up for once. That’s how low my expectations have gotten.

As I type this he takes another one.

If you are talking about Hassan Ali i have bad news for you

What a bowler!!! He and Babar will be No.1 in a couple of years.

Amazing talent, a genuine request to Pakistani hype machine..Don't ruin his career by hyping to the Moon now, let him grow and bloom at his own pace.

What if SSA had played that game against INDIA?

Although we would probably have still lost...I feel SSA would have done better compared to Hasan Ali had he played that game and could have made it more competitive. Looks a great prospect for the future after Wahab/Amir leave the ODI team...!

What a champ. It’s a shame we persisted with Hasan Ali the first few games.

Still he couldn't have stopped Rohit sharma's century for sure ! Remember asia cup 2018 where he played and India won by 9 wickets !

He is a young bloke who doesn’t find his rhythm in every match. Can be a dangerous bowler though on his day. Regarding you question, it’s a hypothetical one. Who knows what would have happened.

If i do remember well he did trouble Rohit a bit and those were UAE wickets were none of our bowlers worked. With this kind of performance in the WC he could have probably saved quite many runs if not taken wickets easily.

Well it's hard to imagine he'd have done worse than Hasan Ali. But hindsight and all that.

Shaheen is a way different bowler now and he is improving with every match. I doubt Rohit would have survived him.

So happy for him.Deserves it.
Needed to be backed throughout the tournament and who knows where we would have been.
Him and Babar are the real positives for me this WC.

What if Pakistan had beaten Australia too difficult
What if Boult had not caught Brathwhite :)))) pl stop these ifs and buts

Congratulations to young Shaheen Afridi. Superstar in the making. Great bowling.

Btw we were thinking Hasan Ali will be the next Waqar for us and hyped him a lot post CT17..As the overconfidence got him to the head we saw how his performance degraded. Now we should hope SSA stays humble and learns for his future games for PAK

Would have been dispatched all over like in Asia cup. India U19 team did that against him.

Pak started winning after Shaheen started performing since the SA game. Shaheen and Haris in India game with Pak batting first after winning the toss would have probably fetched a different result.

Here's me eating my humble pie for being wrong about Afridi.

Oh yes, why not? You are free to talk about that for the next four years

Such a shame we took so long to include SSA and Haris.
Gutted.

Yup. They should've been in the team since game 1. I had been saying so even during the England series when Shaheen was not bowling well, stick with him, you don't drop your best bowler in the past year based off a couple of games, but people on this website and the team management didn't have faith in him.

Amazing bowler. The reverse swinging Yorker at the end was one of the best deliveries of the tournament to watch. Great find for Pakistan

You won the toss, you had the option of including both of those players you named. Who is at fault?

Many congratulation to young & talented fast bowler. Hopefully he will continue this performance for next 15 years.

He had a good tournament. At the start he was out of form. But came into form in the last 4 games.

Excellent talent.

It is all good now, but this guy essentially lost the match against Aus by bowling filth on an early morning spicy pitch.

Well bowled, V aus when conditions suited the bowlers went around the park, had aus been 3 down pak would be in the semis.

I thought this is the title 'Shaheen Shah Afridi becomes the youngest ever cricketer to take 5 wickets in an innings at the WC' na,

create a thread on that match we will reply on that. You saffron hate Pakistnis on infinity level.

Excellent performance in the World Cup by Shaheen Shah Afridi. Hopefully he can resist the downfall that comes with fame, complacency, and comfort which has afflicted other recent promising Pakistani pace bowlers.

Did i say anything wrong you saffron phobiac?

While I dont doubt the class of Rohit but his catch was dropped in Asia cup on Shaheen's opening spell.

Those yorkers, that reverse, good pace and laft arm angle.... Oh we grow old but youth reminds us of our former glories.

Was excellent bowling. Really glad he is back in form.

?? What has his wickets today to do with an u19 WC match?

The guy has just taken 6-for in a senior’s WC with whole World watching? Where are your u19s bowlers?

No need to mention but people like you need a stick every now and then, Rohit was dropped on in early part of his innings in asia cup.

Not feeling well after watching pakistani fast bowlers doing well,.

You know what makes him even more special - this lad is as humble as they come. Away from the cameras and the media, he is a great human being to talk too and I have a lot of time for him.

I reiterate the point I've made on this forum before - he is playing with what sounds like a tennis elbow injury. It would be great if Saj or someone in the PP team can find out from the team management what they are doing to help him. We cannot lose this talent. We simply cannot.

I hope Shaheen will not end up like Hassan Ali. Hassan also had a brilliant Champions Trophy but he lost his form completely after that.

He is looking good so far. Age is on his side.

This guy looks like a real pakistani bowler, but still not as good as young Amir.
Pakistan's next big thing.

He bowled brilliantly since his comeback in all the matches he just changed his length he bowled tad fuller and he became quite difficult to play.I m happy he proved me wrong. He is gonna rule the world along with hasnain and naseem.exciting !times ahead

Great talent. Looking forward to future tournaments when he will lead the attack against hopefully some young Indian batting talent like Rahul, Pant, Gill, Shaw, and Pandya.

I think Amir will be phased out since the next set of major tourneys are in the SC and he is on his last legs anyway. Likewise with Wahab. So it all falls on this guy's shoulders.

Shaheen is the future leader of Pakistan's bowling attack and he seems to be sensible with a willingness to learn. Hopefully he remains focused and ignores the hype and circus that follows Pakistan cricket which has claimed so many victims recently, especially Hasan Ali. Had big hopes for him too but he bought into the hype and became complacent and big headed.

.

What a feeling to watch a young Pakistani bowler bowl like that! Goosebumps!

Congratulations to SSA.
Most important thing is that after a few bad games earlier in England he learnt and adjusted his length. Was bowling too short earlier. Perhaps some advice from Wasim helped him.
Exciting times for Pakistan fans ahead with fast bowlers like SSA, Naseem Shah and Hasnain.

Here to blame Azhar Mahmood for..... oh sorry.... wrong thread

"My message to all of Pakistan is to support their team and their players" : Shaheen Shah Afridi

Shaheen Shah Afridi speaking to the media

"My preparations for Australia are good, I just played a FC game so Inshallah will try to perform well"

"I had dengue fever and I have recovered now and am feeling well"

"Australia have a good side and I will try and bowl well and take wickets whenever my team needs them"

"My message to all of Pakistan is to support their team and their players"

"My fitness is good and there are no problems, I recently played FC match and I am feeling very well"

"We have prepared well and we have tour game there after which we will have a good idea of what the wickets are like"

"All our bowlers have played FC and have bowled well in recent times. Yes, they are young, but they have a lot of pace and are going to Australia after playing FC games"

“Off the field, the negative news keeps on coming. I try not to pay any attention to it"
