Shaheen has made his mark in international cricket

Hasnain is playing international cricket, and looks raw

Naseem and Musa have been selected in the squads.

All are of similar ages, with no one being the leader atm.

Who’ll be the alpha and who’ll be the support bowlers and who’ll vanish away like Hassan Ali?


These are interesting times to see who’ll be the leader off these bowlers
 
I personally think Naseem Shah has all the tools that is swing , pace , brain and so as Shaheen who I think is a touch slower than Naseem atm. Musa and Hasnain can be good supporting bowlers to the duo.
 
Shaheen and Naseem will lead the attack, with Musa and Hasnain being the third seamers.

Shaheen and Naseem are going to be the leaders I reckon. Musa is a bit erratic, but when he gets it right he can be lethal. Musa is also extremely fit and can bowl those long spells.

Hasnain looks the most flawed by far and is also unfit.
 
No competition at all between Shaheen vs the others. I am not sure about Hasnain and Musa's future, as it is a huge gamble selecting them without proper domestic cricket performances, hence I think these two will fade away. Naseem Shah may click in Test cricket as his FC stats are good, but still he is new to domestic cricket even.
 
We are about to see the era of the 2 Shah's (Shaheen and Naseem), just like we had the 2 Ws. It will happen.
 
Shaheen is definitely a young sensation.

But Naseem shah is absolutely lethal and the most complete fast bowler. I think he will be better than Shaheen in the future

Having said that I think Naseem shah is a bit too young and inexperienced to be in the test squad now
 
Musa Khan is an okay talent

He doesn’t stand out too much
 
Never thought the golden generation of u-19 WC 2018 would make it this quick. Only Arshad Iqbal missing out now!
 
Pakistan has debuted the most under 20s in the history if the game and we are about to add 2 more!!
 
They are team mates. Why do we need to compare them with each other ?

As Pakistan fans we do this a lot. Saying this player was a better captain or better bowler than another.

I don't see many other countries fans doing this.

I reckon Sameen Gul will be in there before him. I reckon he will go to England. Waqar was really impressed by him and he has brilliant First Class stats. Plus his bowling is suited to SENA conditions.

Arshad Iqbal hasn't been given a chance at first class yet.
 
you see? And yet pakistan fans always complain lol? best bowling talent factory in the world by far. No one comes close.

Just need to nurture them. Keep 2 for tests. 2 for odi. Screw t20. Focus on tests.

I thought so - surprised Waqar didn't push for Sameen's inclusion here
 
if we see all four are almost of the same age but still I would rate the as per their performances:

1 - Shaheen
2 - Naseem
3 - Musa
4 - Hasnain (got chances but didn't do anything noticeable)

I guess our main strike bowler will be abbas shaheen and Naseem shah in the upcoming test series. I wish they give a chance to musa as well

I don't see Musa getting a chance in tests as Naseem is clearly better. Unless they both get one test each.

I don't think so that musa khan bowls more than 140 - 142 consistently but I can see Naseem shah hitting 145's regularly with shaheen shah on the other hand
 
Shaheen and Naseem are a cut above the other two from a talent perspective. But that doesn't mean anything unless they put in the work.

Shaheen= underdeveloped wasim akram
Naseem = potential like Waqar Younis
Musa = Reminds me of Muhammad Sami
Hasnain = Also reminds of Muhammad Sami

Being consistently 140Kph above and touching 145kph and above is pretty good pace. More than that Musa have the ability to rush the batsman from good length.

Naseem when in full rhythm gets it above even 150 kph. According to Mudassar Nazar he was fastest of the lot (Hasnain, Shaheen, Musa, Arshad Iqbal). His back has been an issue, once he find every part of body getting aligned like Cummins has achieved now than he can be really handful.
 
Misbah is right. These four bowlers are the future of Pakistan fast bowling for the next 5-10 years as far as everyone can see. they need to be put in the ringer NOW like Waqar, Wasim, Aaqib, Shoaib, Imran Khan were at a very young age to see who shines and really, if even ONE of them becomes world class, you have a legendary bowling for this generation
 
Shaheen and Naseem are above the other 2. If Shaheen stays on track there is no doubt in my mind he will end as an ATG bowler. Naseem is also a special talent as he can swing it at pace, if he can develop a ball that nips in as well he can seriously trouble the batsmen. Hasnain and Musa could be decent in ODIs and T20s. Musa could have a future in test cricket but I feel Hasnain will always remain an LOI specialist, which isn't necessarily a bad thing.

you are forgetting sameem gul. he reminds me of asif.

Any way what do you mean by ability to rush the batsman though? just curious. Because musa is short. Like steyn who isn't tall is musa supposed skid the ball due to lack of height. So bowl fuller lengths? Or do you mean he gets good bounce by having a late release point like bumrah who has awkward bounce?

This is s very important and valid point by misbah, to challenge Australia in Australia you do need to play fire with fire
 
According to psychologist Angela Duckworth who studies "what makes people successful and achieve greatness" ...

She came up with the following equations for greatness / achievement

1) talent x effort = skill
2) skill x effort = achievement

Right now, all these 4 young guns have talent. With "double the effort" only can they achieve something remarkable. (eg Kohli, Smith, Etc.)

Otherwise they will just be remembered in the long list of "what if" or "what could've been" bowlers of Pakistan (Amir, Sami, Asif, Gul, Ajmal, etc.)
 
Sorry to say but Amir is and has been th leader before and after his ban. Amir is heads and shoulders above everyone.

No he hasn't. In fact I think it's a good thing he and Wahab retired from tests. It gives these younger guys an opportunity and they are more willing to work hard.

Amir's lost his pace, he would have been sent to all corners of the ground by David Warner in the test series.

It's hard to say at the momnt. Sameen is defnitely better, he is a Josh Hazlewood type bowler and should have gone to Aussie.

Haris Rauf is already at his peak, his pace won't increase and he doesn't have time on his side. Musa still has 7 years before he reaches his peak, he has plenty of time to improve.
 
Shaheen Shah and Naseem Shah. These two are here to stay and server Pakistan for a long time.

Yeah, I hope so. Even if they don't do so well, they should be given more chances. There is nothing worse than picking a young fast bwler and then dropping him after a match or two.

Tall fast bowlers tend to be more injury prone, so Naseem and Musa do have an advatage as they are only average height. They are also well built and their bodies look like they can take the stress of fast bowling.
 
One thing I have noticed about Naseem is that his follow through is quite long and he runs up all the way to batsman, gives him a stare then walks back to his mark. I want to see some of this in Australia. Finally we are getting fast bowlers in Pakistan who actually act like fast bowlers. Shaheen Shah, Naseem Shah and Muhammad Musa all have that fast bowlers attitude.

For a decade we've been wathcing all these loose people with terrible body language like Rahat, Imran Khan sr, Muhammad Abbas even is too nice to be a pacer.

Apart from Shaheen Shah who is an established LOI bowler, the other three have done nothing for the moment.

It's good that they can bowl at a good pace but that doesn't guarantee anything. Stanlake bowls 150kph but he isn't even considered in Australian bowlers.

Musa Khan's records in his so far very short career are disastrous in every format.

Hasnain doesn't looked ready at all the little we saw of him. Hopefully, with good practice over the next 10 days, he will like bowling in Australian pitches.

Naseem Shah, surely looks good from the little we have seen but international cricket is another level, we should wait.

Exactly. They all have such a small sample of domestic stats. Risky business I would say. Shaheen has proven himself in LOIs, but he is yet to prove himself in Test cricket. Fingers crossed. I am against selecting players based on small sample of domestic stats. I would have preferred established domestic performers. But still I am excited as well, as you never know.

His workload should be managed very carefully.

Hasnain despite all the hype fails to impress me. Pace is not everything. Just look at Sami/Wahab etc

We're yet to see Naseem and Musa properly.

I'm actually keen to watch Sameen. Tall fast bowler with excellent 1st class record.

But the established domestic performers are Rahat Ali, Sadaf Hussain, Tabish Khan and Mir Hamza, all of them are trundlers and are being massively exposed, apart from Rahat but he has been tryed and tested at the international stage and has failed numerous times.

I have a feeling that Hasnain won't go very far with his career. I hope he will, but I have a feeling he won't. He has too many issues with his technique and fitness at the moment, it will take a while to fix all of this.

Sameen in place of Imran Khan snr in the squad and the fast bowling would have been perfect.

Honestly I see a spark in Naseem Shah just like Shaheen, and Abbas has done a great job so far. Abbas, Shaheen and Naseem will be a decent pace attack. If you remember Shaheen didn't exactly disrupted the stage in international cricket, he lacked consistency before the WC. Only after his WC2019 Performances he is being lifted up.

Yep, the Shah's have pace, bounce, swing, seam and a brain. And something that is rare in Pakistan these days: aggression. They look like complete bowlers and will only get better.
 
I believe Shaheen Shah and Naseem Shah can be the deadly dou we used to have in form of Wasim and Waqar.

Shaheen with his bounce and swing. Naseem with his pace and accuracy.
 
its a shame Arshad Iqbal is not in the picture atm. A very good lline and length bowler who was in the wc team as Musa and Shaheen
 
Sameer and Arshad are both good and should be ahead of Musa, Rauf atleast
 
So so so excited by Naseem, get the same feeling when a certain M Amir burst on to the scene 12 years ago.
Hope this time the hype stays true.

husnain is a mediocre bowler. rauf is suited for t20. Arshad not sure.
The other 3 have serious potential to be future greats.
Sameen should have been picked over abbas. Don't know why a bowler as good as sameen wasn't given a chance.

I reckon Sameen might be selected for the England tour. There were 3 bowlers Waqar was very impressed by in the fast bowling camp: Naseem, Musa and Sameen. A pace attack of Shaheen, Naseem and Sameen really had the potential of rattling the Aussies.

It really is amazing how just 2 years ago we still had guys like Rahat Ali and other mediocre bowlers and now we have such an amazing pool of young fast bowlers. The patience of a decade is paying off.
 
Heaps of respect for him to bowl like he did after the family tragedy just a day prior. I personally know people very close to me who have gone through something like that, and it's impossible to fully move on from it.

Kid will go on to be a champion of a cricketer. No doubts about that. His mother's prayers from the last 16 years will guide him through it.

Yes he will. It's amazing how he managed to perform at a time like this. His passion for the game is unparalleled. We don't know what he's going through inside and ot's probably terrible, yet he is able to perform. I do think he sees a therapist in Australia as it will be bad for him to hold it all up inside.

yea man. Amazing stuff from the youth academy. Just so excited to see these young guns. Sameem naseem and shaheen. wow.
what an attack for test cricket.

also r.i.p naseem's mum. This boy has a bright future and I am sure his mum will be proud.
 
Hasnain,Rauf and Arshad need a top class bowling coach.Some bowlers are naturally gifted and don't need a lot of coaching others
others need guidance and more experience.
 
These 2 showed that they can be a very good bowling partnership. Shaheen bowled with control and kept things tight, then Naseem bowled aggressively and accurately.

Naseem in one innings of a test, 20 overs, has shown me he is going to me our new amir, the best bowler in pakistan!
