There seem to be reports/rumours that Afridi may want to take over Ramiz's role.

He is certainly making it known that he has no issues with the new government. Would this be a positive move for Pakistan cricket?

You can forget about the possibilities of an Indo Pak series for sure now

Does Afridi have any experience doing admin work? Does anyone know if he knows how to use a computer, type and spell etc?

Surely a chairman is an administrative role and I am not really sure Afridi has a clue about the role besides just making bombastic decisions for others to follow

Is this a wind up?

Does he have any experience as an administrator, or even in a job of any kind?

Exactly, can he even write a sentence? I am not saying this to be rude or harsh, but the chairman needs to be someone who can run a multimillion pound organisation, not just someone who has a fanbase because he hit a couple of sixes a few years ago.

This will be hilarious.

Also bring in Shoaib Akhtar as coach!

Tbf Afridi is a highly successful businessman but that would most likely be because of the people he has hired to take care of his assets and investments for him. Afridi’s image and reputation carries the business investments, but not Afridi’s admin skills (which are non existent)

How does Afridi plan on running the role of chairman? Will he hire admin secretaries doing all the paperwork whilst he directs them? That’s more of a director and not a chairman

Don't know if he would be a good administrator but Pakistan cricket news would certainly get more entertaining

Afridi has talked about politics and now this. Perfect way to send Pakistan back into the dark ages along with the new regime in charge.

Since the appointment of Ramiz Raja, the PCB chairman’s role is becoming a joke tbh.

It’s a bit like Vince McMahon appointing random wrestlers to become the commissioner of Monday night raw. They really need to be careful with their next appointment before we become an absolute circus!

Afridi is a tool. No way he should ever be considered for any administrative job, let alone a PCB chairman.

Ramiz Raja is Jeff Jarrett of Pakistan cricket

Lmao that would be hilarious, afridi can barely present himself wheb he talks. Dudes a tool, seen throughout his career

Would be happy to have him as a power hitting coach over Chairman.

That would be even worse in my opinion. Last thing we need are power hitters who blindly slog with their eyes closed

One pro of having Afridi as the PCB chairman,

Boy he will get you sponsors and draw in Money. He may even grow into the role just like he did with captaincy. He was a good captain IMO.

The only thing I am concerned about is the dumb statements he will make when the BCCI refuse his proposals for a series or allowing Pakistani players into the IPL. They will damage the relationship beyond repair

Afridi has zero experience of admin.I am not sure if he went to school or not.It I’ll be a disaster if he becomes chairman of PCB.

As long as it's not misbah the destroyer of Pakistan cricket ul haq i m fine with it.

Shahid Afridi would be more competent than all these losers who have sat on this chair.

Bring on Shahid Afridi bring on entertainment.

Ex Cricketers who can be credible candidates to be the chairman of an administrative board:

1. Misbah ul Haq
2. Inzimam ul Haq
3. Mohammad Akram
4. Azhar Mahmood
5. Mohammad Hafeez
6. Taufeeq Umar
7. Saeed Anwar
8. Saqlain Mushtaq
9. Yasir Arafat
10. Aamer Sohail

You may dislike some names or laugh at others. But that’s my honest assessment

Ramiz Raja is well educated ( MBA ) and Afridi is middle school drop out. You need some basic education to run PCB.

FGS, its BCP's chair, not some middle school coaching job, you need some basic education to run PCB and Only Misbah, Hafeez, Anwar and Aamer are somewhat educated , rests are not . Although Misbah failed miserably when give a PCB job.

What an utter disaster this would be.

Does this role have any qualifications beside being a former player and therefore automatically meeting the role requirement? It is absolutely absurd how things are done in Pakistan.

But Afridi has been a vocal Supporter for IK, so I doubt this govt will give it to him. The PCB chairman position might already have been decided between the PPP and PMLN. When they agreed on who gets what.

Wait what? Afridi chairman?

Can this guy run an institute?

Speaking like one :)

“I feel the PCB should be independent from the government. The appointment of the chairman and CEO of the board should not be managed by the government"

“The PCB needs to be totally independent and have its own in-house election system with no interference from the government functionaries"

“That is why Pakistan cricket faces problems. I think that departments have a big role to play in Pakistan domestic cricket but if the board has introduced a new system it should be given proper time to be tested out now”

Agree with Afridi. It's disappointed that Imran, after years of arguing PCB should be independent from Government, didn't do anything about this while in office.

We can never have a stable cricket structure with constant fluctuations of policy and personnel.

Afridi being chairman of PCB is like Stone Cold Steve Austin being GM.

Very volatile character.

These elites are joking with the people. It seems competence and merit has no value in Pakistan.
