Who'll pick him next? Lahore Qalandars or The 6th Team looks the obvious ones

This is a diabolical decision. Afridi's presence in the Karachi team reigniting them in 2018.

Karachi team is at fault here. They were forcing Afridi to not get involve in T10 matches.

Hope IU picks him. Him and shadab are going to be handy in the middle overs.

Have a feeling that is what might have happened. Salman Iqbal and Afridi might have fallen out over the T10 league where Salman Iqbal parted ways with the league whereas Afridi insisted on playing in the league and said he would convince Salman Iqbal to return.

Rather kicked out.

Hasn't been performing and well past his golden days.

Was stupid to have left PZ because Javed Afridi hurt his ego who switched his captaincy to Sammy.

It's the start to the right direction - maybe by 2035, he'll part from PSL.

Lahore Qalandars should sign him.

They need a talisman, someone to lift the squad.

Shameful decision

Hopefully he retires or goes back to PZ

Atleast Peshawar is his forefathers' region so there was some link there but imagine him turning out for Lahore which he has publicly criticized as a city.

That's insane. Can't imagine he would have been kicked out, so he probably wanted to lead.

Lahore would do well to pick him up.

Why is there no option of Karachi Kings?

And if you are being realistic, Nobody and Islamabad options are almost impossible.

Well he's just left Karachi Kings. Unlikely they will sign him again.

But I'll add it as an option.

Lahore or the 6th team for sure, Lahore signing him will be huge for their brand.

When did he do that? He has always been the one being extra respectful towards Shahbaz and Nawaz for their work in the Punjab region with Lahore being the tip of the iceberg.

Really doubt that he has anything against Lahore infact he is adored there.

He moved to Lahore for a year or so and didn’t like it and when he came back he said something like it doesn’t compare to Karachi

That's a shame, it seemed he helped them to perform much better last season.

Lahore should take him.

Hopefully he retires, the franchise that picks him will essentially be playing with half a bowler and pure tailender now. The only reason he will get picked is bc he will get his shirts sold and people will follow his team but he won't contribute anything to the team's on the pitch performance.

I do hope he gets picked by Lahore. I know he's well past his prime, but my childhood wish of seeing Lala playing for my home city. My greatest regret in life is that I never got to see him massacre someone at Gaddafi. I've watched him hit the winning boundary vs Zimbabwe in 2015 but never a true Lala encore. Would love for him to wear the green Lahore jersey.

Lala should buy his own team.

:sa

Its insulting to player of stature to be team hopping every season.

This is fault of franchise cricket. Every team wants performance but they don't look at other things he brings on board.

Smith could get some more bowling tips from :sa

Cant believe that people tell him to retire cause of his batting when he's had an economy under 7 for the past 15 years.

Always a homecrowd advantage.

I thought he retired after the last PSL game last year. Didn't even know he was playing. Amazing that he is 45 and still can play pretty decently.

Think he's not playing this year.. thread opened in last year..

He is getting close to the 50 mark, but he is still better than Shadab. He could still play T20Is but carries excessive baggage.

As a spinner only he will get in many teams. His bowling yesterday was very good.

The most worrying sign for Pakistan is that Afridi is probably still their best hitter down the order.

41, its in his book, turns 42 in a couple months. Cricinfo still showing the wrong age tho lol.

42 years of age in a week's time, still manages to put the likes of Shadab, Faheem and Imad to shame when it comes to power-hitting and economical bowling.

Its a shame really. You would think that 24 years wouldve been enough time to find another afridi.

Shahid Bhai is such a legend. Like Mamoon said, he'll always better than shadab with ball and better than shehzad with bat. Should play world T20 purely on merit. :sa

He may have ordinary ODI stats, but he has been one of our best match winners in history. He is a T20 legend anyways. Terrific economy rate yesterday, even at this age of 40+. And decent hitting as well. An entertaining legend. Best entertainer ever in our cricket history for sure.

Admits to ageing, retirement hint perhaps

Looks like Shahid and Javed Afridi are still on reasonable terms. So much for the news that they had a falling out

Of course they did. It is very obvious that Afridi left Zalmi because he was replaced as captain. In fact, there were rumors of him leaving before the 2017 season but was somehow convinced to stay at that point.

Afridi himself stated that he decided to leave because ‘Javed Afridi’s vision changed’.

Nonetheless, having a fallout does not mean they would severe ties with each other. Besides, it has been 3 years now and they could have reconciled.
