Introducing to Pakpassion family another young, tall pacer from Pakistan Shahnawaz Dhani.

He is young and exciting Right Arm Fast Medium pacer from Larkana. We will soon see him represent Sindh in FC and List A Cricket.

Good to see Sindh producing pacers post Sami era. First Hasnain and now Shahnawaz.

Shahnawaz needs to put on muscle mass and than he will InshaAllah become Right Arm Fast bowler with Right training.

Let’s see his progress. Hope he impresses Karachi Kings & Quetta Gladiators and plays next PSL.

Pace?
Height?
Age?

In general, anyone mentioned or hyped here, one should automatically deduct min 5 kph from the claimed speed.

What is his age?

He's 21. Has a white-ball contract with Sindh this season.

He has been with the Sindh team recently. That's him talking to Sarfaraz in the above image.

Interesting prospect this guy.
Watched a couple of overs on live stream. Good raw ingredients.

same .. saw him bowl an over his 8th and 9th... and def saw a spark... he was taking his bowling serious.. his over serious.... which is positive to see...

really like the guy.. but need to put on muscle and need proper guidance

I have seen him bowling today for the 1st time in year and I am thinking he is the best right arm fast bowling prospect in PK outside the national setup. A good action and he get movement. His pace at the higher level would be around 84 but he has a high action and gets good bounce and movement. If Waqar is going to justify his salary, this is the type of bowler he needs to be working with.

Looks a good prospect. Looks tallish with a good action. Pace was good and he has the ability to move the ball.

Do you have vidoes only seen a vidoe from last year were he was moving the ball away from the left hander but nothing into the left harder and looked quite tall

shamaan grant bradburn tweeted a video of him and was very impressed. Check it out

Just seen it that ball was unplayable let's see how he does against the right handers in the upcoming matches

Looks decent but in video he is mostly bowling to lefthander. And going across most of times. don't seems to have out swingers. may be if someone can post a video of him bowling to right-handers will show us how good his line and length is.

Sorry guys he looks bang average in that video.

Happy to be proven wrong

Tbh, I just realised that it wasn't him I had seen before but Amir Brohi. I only realised when I went on YouTube just now. Amir Brohi also looks decent

If he can take the ball away from the right handers, he will be a real handful. He looks a good prospect, he looks the best out of the right arm seamers outside the main PK squad but he needs a lot of nurturing

As I said yesterday, he looks the beat of the bowlers outside the PK squad. This is where Waqar should be earning his corn by turn the raw materials into international quality.

Seems like he should've been with the Pakistan Shaheens squad.

Instead the likes of Musa and Faheem continue to waste everyone's time.

Every ex cricketer in Pak does not want to work at grass roots or with nobodies and tirelessly work extra hard or give too much time on them to make them better.

They all just want easy money and short cuts with less things to do and worry about which is with the senior guys and hanging around them.

If Musa can get his seam upright, unlike the saucer seam he has at the moment and uses Mohammed Shami as someone to emulate, he isnt totally a lost case. Faheem is just not international quality.

But its Waqars job. This lad could become a very useful new ball bowler.

Looks cut above the rest to be fair the standard of pace bowling is shocking and I am not surprised the likes of Naseem, Musa and Hasnain are getting fast tracked the 23-28 range looks devoid of any quality.
We hear about Adil and Sameen but both are struggling to get in the province first xi when 35 top players in the country are unavailable for selection.

Shahnawaz Dhani dismissed all three batsmen as he returned three for 74 on Day 3.

Faheem is there as part of a misguided belief he can become the fast bowling all-rounder Pakistan needs. Musa has pace so they ignore his inability to do anything with it.

He seems pretty quick. Looked much faster than all of rest.

i like both this guy and sameen gul. If he could really develop it he would be a handy long form bowler. Has the bounce and seam movement to go across if he can up the zip and start getting some swing he would be very useful.

Very good prospect. Looks like a cleaner action version of Shabbir Ahmed

Good ball to dismiss Mukhtar Ahmed, will like to know his pace, it looks decent.
We are lacking right arm options in the fast boxing département.
35 year old Sohail Khan is probably the second best option after Mohammad Abbas.

Decent ball, but horrendous leave from Mukhtar. You don't leave on length unless you're playing in South Africa or Australia and that too only in the first innings.

Shahnawaz is certainly bowling with plenty of passion.

A very impressive bowler.

What do you reckon he would be in terms of average pace and the speed of the effort ball?

He looked considerably faster than Tabish but Tabish himself mostly operates in the late 120's and early 130's. I'd think he'd be around 135+ to 140 bracket but can't be really sure.

He's definitely hitting the 140kph mark regularly.
We have several bowlers who can do this these days, but what is impressive about this guy is how consistent he is with his length.
He moves the ball as well and knows how to get wickets.
Definitely the most test match ready young bowler I have seen in the recent past. A year's experience shoukd be enough for him to then be drafted into the test side.

Any vidoes of his wickets or spells ?

Amazing bowling from him today. His bouncer is the most lethal I have seen in FC cricket in Pakistan yet. Was unlucky today. Had 2 catches dropped off his bowling today, including that of Saif Babar, early in his innings. Had those been taken, than we could have had a different result. His last spell at he end of a day, was a memorable one. Should be brought under the national set up in some capacity.

I think he needs 1 season in domestic or brought into the national academy needs to work on inswinger but his line and lengths are impressive

I hope they don't wait too long. The las has to work with the better player and coaches

I feel he is ready for Shaheens. The outswinger he can learn as he plays, bit like Shaheen. Fast-tracking Shaheen was the best decision we made in years. He isnt ready for the national team but definitely should be part of Shaheens and must get the same treatment like Musa, Naseem, Hasnain and Haris are getting.

I hope he is good enough to get to the international stage would be a big boost for spreading of cricket in interior Sindh and following his lead many more cricketers would emerge inshallah. I don't think we have ever had an ethnic Sindhi represent Pakistan.

Sindh and Balochistan are under represented in Pakistan cricket. Is it due to lack of facilities or lack of interest?.

Baluchistan because the population is too small. The whole of Baluchistan has less population than some districts of Punjab. On top of that area wise it is the largest province in Pakistan hence very sparsely populated also general terrain is mountainous. Poverty and lack of infrastructure is a reason as well.

Sindh is underrepresented because interior Sindh lacks infrastructure and it has been systematically kept enslaved by PPP thereby not allowing them to realize their potential.

That's fine I rather see him in the NC to work on his areas of improvements.i want him to see how he does in the following domestic games before I make a judgement but I like what I see :)

Looks like a good prospect. Is it just me or does he look a bit like Zlatan Ibrahimovic? Maybe it's just the nose :yk2

So this guys name actually Shanawaz Dahani , he explains in this interview and he claims that he's from the Baloch origin community of Sindh and not "actually" Sindhi. Although to be fair a large percent of the modern day Sindhi and Saraiki populations are of distant Baloch descent.

LMAOOO this guy is the most sindhi looking person on earth

Yes, there are many balochis in sindh. He most likely speaks sindhi most likely and is considered to be from the community in interior sindh.

Saraikis are in the north, in sukkhur.

Shahnawaz Dhani 4/75 today vs Balochistan - doing well this guy.

Playing really well. 4 wickets at such a good economy rate when rest of the bowlers are struggling big time. Surely one to look out for along with Akif Javed and Munir Riaz
