Shahnawaz Dhani - Tall right-arm pacer from Larkana

Final figures today? Get this guy in NCA ASAP. Seriously he looks a million dollars. I reckon he should sign for multan sultans and get Andy Flower to guide him

Shahnawaz Dhani 3/35 on Day 3 of Round 6 of QeA20 for Sindh

He’s the find of this years Qaed-e-Azam’s trophy..

I dunno, he’s definitely a decent prospect but not sure he’s done amazingly. His 3 wickets this innings contained one from Ali Zaryab off a very good delivery, then the other two of tailenders.

So definitely need to see more.

38* (24) from Safi, some really great shots for a tail ender to be honest.

I will definitely say he is the find of the tournament. Watched him live every game he is played and he bowls amazingly. Has been unlucky a lot with dropped catches. And he took the wickets of Ali Zaryab, Saad Nasim, and Hasan Ali. Neither is a tail-ender. He has pace, line, and length.

Hassan Ali was a very soft dismissal and Saad Nasim is a tail ender in my book. Can’t bat at all.

Dhani and Munir have been the best new talents and should keep the likes of Hasnain, Rauf and Naseem on their toes and should replace Musa and Sohail Khan as soon as possible

Batted better than any CP batsman the last match and even in this match in the first innings. A good ball is a good ball regardless of the batsman. He hit the right length and got it to move away. Not to mention even the non-wicket-taking bowls can tell you a lot.

Very true, it was a good delivery. I also haven’t watched the entire game so had no idea about the dropped catches. I take it he’s been bowling well throughout then?

Yeah, he is very impressive. Only bowler in the whole of PCT that actually uses the bouncer as an aggressive option. Which is kind of sad. The commentators have been very impressed with him too. THey also called him the find of the tournament.

bowled a very long spell today , got hot by ahmed safi for a couple of sixers in one over. Overall a very good potential though.

That was a good spell. On a pretty docile pitch, he's been able to generate good pace and lift, and some seam movement to boot. I'd say he's pretty impressive. Has all the ingredients a fast bowler needs, really.

He’s got all the ingredients to be a successful bowler at the top level however having said he’s still work in progress however the potential is definitely there ..

Good line and lengths and good to see hes moving the ball in and out and getting good bounce

Basit Ali speaking to the media:

"I am saying this based on my experience that Abrar Ahmed, Shahnawaz Dhani and Mohammad Umer who have come up from 2nd XI, will be seen representing Pakistan in the next 1-1.5 years - this is my promise to you"

He may be exaggerating a bit but overall I agree. All three of them have high potential. At least one of them could be part of the team soon.

Umar is too slow at this point. He needs to get to 83mph at least but he is skilful and he does have a future. Dani is the best amongst the MF bowlers in PK and if he stays fit, he will play for PK. Abrar is the interesting one, at this point he doesn't have the ingredients to be an international for the type of bowler he is trying to be. He isnt quick enough and the ball doesn't dip. He needs to watch Kumble and see how he got wickets.

Dhani and Munir seems to be the best of the new players this season.

Dhani possibly has a higher ceiling but I like Munir and what he puts in every delivery

Playing really well. 4 wickets at such a good economy rate when rest of the bowlers are struggling big time. Surely one to look out for along with Akif Javed and Munir Riaz

What speed does umar bowl at 80 mph whats the speed of abbas ?

Munir has to work on control. Too many 4 balls even at this stage of his career.

I think he is faster than Abbas but the main problem with him is that he loses steam after the first or the second spell. This is the main area he needs to improve on. He is young, so he has time on his side. Hopefullylly he comes good.

And thats problem with Abbas. If you are 80mph you have nothing to offer with the old ball, its the reason I have gone off Abbas.

But how come hes so lethal in asain conditions as the ball goes softer alot quicker in uea

Thats good becouse its something he can actually work on by himself

Just saw a picture of him on FB with Hassan Ali. And does not look that tall. can anyone give his hight or at least remove the tall word from title of this thread.

Not everyone needs to be 6'5 to get bounce.
He has really long limbs and fingers and coupled with a good extension in his bowling action allows him to create good leverage.
This is why he gets good bounce from a length.

This. He’s 6’1” or so to begin with, and his long arms extend further than most people who are 6’1” so he extracts even more bounce.

This guy is good. Bowls some beautiful wicket taking deliveries. Can swing it both ways and uses the bouncer well and uses the crease to create different angles.Really good skills for a newcomer.
Definitely a prospect for national side

The fact that he is most probably around 6 F. which is pretty much average height. So you can't call him a tall bowler. It confused me as if he is another M. Irfan or Saheen.

Watching highlights of Northern vs Sindh.

That bouncer, damn ! If Dhani can be more consistent with line and length he's playing for Pakistan soon.

seems to get batsmen hurrying but Mubaser played him extremely well though...

any specific delivery u looked at?

Still a lot of technical work needed as he does not lock his left arm into his core at release and thus loses stability at the crease.
But he definitely has the ability to be a test bowler.

Watching Day 1 as I'm trying to go through the match in order.

Some dollies are being dropped in the slips. Sindh are easily the worst fielding outfit.

From the first pictures, to the second pictures the guy has put on 15kg at least (not fat either). He's taking his training serious.

Selectors should be taking notes of any guys who have the "raw materials" like this & just harvesting them up into national programs. Pakistan has a few medium size quicks to choose - Abbas, Naseem, Hassan is taking wickets again but you need a stable of taller bowlers to complement. Otherwise Shaheen has to do it all.

This is the standout young fast bowlers this season who should debut next in test team. I feel he will be ready in a year.

Shaheen
Abbas
Dhani

Other options:
Hasan Ali
Waqas Maqsood

Hasnain should play first class for a few seasons and maybe he can break in test team

Get him in NHPC ASAP. Like Summers is coming Pak it would be great to send this lad to an aussie coach before Pak destroy him

Stand out perfomer in qaid e azam now picked in the shorter format for multan well done to dahani
