Doesn’t matter who congress nominates Modi has sealed the election.

Modi is a phenomenon and has a cult status like Hitler.

After modi it will be Yogi. India is solidifying to be a hindu facist state for the next 2 decades.

Never heard about this guy, googled him up and turns out he murdered his wife. India doesn't have many options.

His status is in tatters currently as two IAF planes downed by Pakistan and pilots arrested. This is what over confidence results in #Modi

A Delhi court on Wednesday discharged senior Congress leader Shashi Tharoor in connection with his wife Sunanda Pushkar's death case.

Sunanda Pushkar was found dead in a luxury hotel in the national capital on the night of January 17, 2014. She and Tharoor were staying in the hotel, as their bungalow was being renovated at that time.

Reacting to the court's decision, Tharoor said that the order brought a "significant conclusion to the long nightmare" which had "enveloped him after the tragic passing away" of his wife.

"I would like to express my humble thanks to judge Geetanjali Goel for her orders today, discharging me from the charges levied by the Delhi police, which I have consistently described as preposterous. This brings a significant conclusion to the long nightmare which had enveloped me after the tragic passing of my late wife Sunanda," the Congress MP said in a statement,

Tharoor further said that he patiently faced several "unfounded accusations" and "media vilification" and "sustained his faith" in the judiciary.

"I have weathered dozens of unfounded accusations and media vilification patiently, sustained by my faith in the Indian judiciary, which today stands vindicated. In our justice system, the process is all too often the punishment. Nonetheless, the fact that justice has been done, at last, will allow all of us in the family to mourn Sunanda in peace. I am grateful to my lawyers, particularly Vikas Pahwa and Gaurav Gupta, for all that they have done to bring the case to this conclusion," he said.

Meanwhile, senior advocate Vikas Pahwa, who appeared for Tharoor in the case, said that justice has prevailed after a "long battle" of seven years.

"I am delighted to hear the pronouncement of discharge for Dr Shashi Tharoor. It was a long battle of seven years. Ultimately justice has prevailed. He had faith in the judicial system right from the beginning. I had always advised Dr Tharoor not to make any public statement as the matter was subjudice in the court. The charges levelled by the police for abetment to suicide and cruelty were absurd and preposterous. Even the most essential ingredients of the offences were not present in this case," Tharoor's counsel said.

He also stressed that there was no complaint by anyone for harassment or abetment to suicide by any of the family members or friends of late Sunanda Pushkar.

"All the reports of various medical boards including psychological autopsy reports exonerated Dr Shashi Tharoor from the charges of homicide or suicide. The chargesheet filed was without any basis... I am happy that at last after seven years justice has prevailed and he has been honourably discharged from all the charges made by Delhi Police against him," Pahwa added.

During the last hearing in the case, the Delhi Police had sought framing of various charges, including 306 (abetment of suicide), against the Congress leader. However, Pahwa told the court that the investigation conducted by the SIT completely exonerated the politician of all the charges levelled against him.

Seeking Tharoor's discharge in the case, Pahwa had then said there was no evidence against him to prove the offence punishable under either section 498A (husband or relative of husband of a woman subjecting her to cruelty) or 306 (abetment of suicide) of IPC.

Earlier, Tharoor was booked under sections 498A and 306 of the Indian Penal Code by Delhi police, but was not arrested in the case. He was granted bail on July 5, 2018.

Delhi court discharges Shashi Tharoor of all charges: What was Sunanda Pushkar death case

The police have accused Tharoor of abetment to suicide and cruelty against Pushkar who was found dead in a luxury hotel in Delhi in 2014.

The Delhi court on Wednesday cleared senior Congress leader Shashi Tharoor of all charges related to the case of his wife Sunanda Pushkar's death. The verdict was pronounced after the virtual hearing.

Tharoor's advocate Vikas Pahwa sought the discharge order saying that there was no evidence that proves Tharoor had any involvement in the death of his wife. He also cited findings by the Special Investigation that already exonerated the politician of all the charges.

The police have accused Tharoor of abetment to suicide and cruelty against Pushkar who was found dead in a luxury hotel in Delhi in 2014.

Following the order, Tharoor said, the allegations meant "seven and a half years of absolute torture" for him. "I am so grateful, it had been seven and a half years and it was an absolute torture," he said moments after judge Geetanjali Goel pronounced him "discharged" from all charges.

What is the Sunanda Pushkar death case?

A businesswoman by profession, Pushkar was found dead at Delhi’s Leela Palace hotel under mysterious circumstances. She had moved with her husband Tharoor in the hotel as their house was under maintenance. At that time, the initial reports had suggested that Pushkar dies of suicide.

Later, the reports stated the cause of death as "unnatural." In the autopsy report, the doctors at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences found injury marks on her body. In the later stage of the investigation, the police found traces of Alprazolam, an anti-depressant, and Excedrin, a painkiller in her body.

In July the same year, the doctor who was leading the panel that conducted the postmortem on Pushkar alleged that he was pressured to give a false report in the case, according to a media report.

Following this, the Sub-Divisional Magistrate ordered an inquiry into the case to ascertain the cause of her death whether it was poisoning, murder or suicide.

In 2015, the Delhi police filed an FIR claiming to say that it was a murder.

During the investigation, Pushkar's domestic help alleged that she had often fought with Tharoor. The house help also claimed that days before her death she had threatened Tharoor that she would "disclose everything" and after which he would be "finished".

In May 2018, Delhi police charged Tharoor with abetment to suicide of his wife and marital cruelty under sections 306 and 498A of the Indian Penal Code. However, Tharoor refuted all the charges.

He was granted anticipatory bail in the matter by a Sessions Court in July 2018. Following that order, a magisterial court converted the anticipatory bail into regular bail after he appeared before it on July 7 in pursuance to the summons issued by the Metropolitan Magistrate in the matter.

Sunanda Pushkar was murdered but no one killed her - Delhi Court

Hilarious judgement :91:

Shashi Tharoor is an intelligent man. It is only on the Kashmir issue that he talks complete nonsense blaming Pakistan for everything. I suppose this is to be expected.

I'm no BJP guy, but I find it really difficult to trust that Tharoor's wife just died spontaneously and no one stood to gain from her death.

I suppose if one has money, one could do everything in India.

Most intelligent people say exactly what Tharoor does about Kashmir. Only some Pakistanis don't want to believe it. But I suppose this is to be expected. :)

Only thing that matters is what the Kashmiris say, we all know what that is! Had that not been so you wouldn't have 600,000 soldiers in IoK killing and looting people. Most intelligent people do not agree with Shashi at all. I think you mean most Indian people do :P For starters other then Pakistan/is the UN also says Kashmir is disputed territory:asif.
