Cant do it sorry.

He is not a genuine number # 6 batsman. Unless he can pitch in with bowling regularly he doesnt get a place.

Malik is a great batsman. I wish he is in the Pakistan team when we face each other next time.

Dont take all these criticisms to heart dear Malik.Fans are way too demanding these days.Wish you all the very best

Oh sorry he is not a test match material still deserves a place in T20s and ODIs He is really having bad days one of the best Pakistani fielders and somehow he dropped two catches in two balls

I'm definitely a fan but he's way out of touch and playing him in the 3rd Test will do him and will do Pakistan more harm than good.

Should be dropped, he's not in the right frame of mind for Test cricket.

lol, I support all our players, regardless of recent performances...c'mon Malik, prove the doubters wrong again!

Yeah expecting one of your specialist batsman to score more than 20-30 runs an innings, expecting him to be able to play fast bowling, expecting him to be able to take a few catches now and again is waaaaaaaaay too much to ask for.

Malik please choose another line of work. I hear footballs on the up and up in Pakistan.

He is not Test Match Material at all. Should be in the side for ODIs but not for Test Matches. Horrible technique.
He has been totally shown up on this tour...

he's had a long enough run. with only 1 or 2 half decent innings not consisitent enough to make it in the team. he really has to go now before more damage is done.

take my advise and spend a season in australias cricket season for some experience

good by for know malik

He isn't a test class player. It is as simple as that.

He is fine for the shorter versions of the game.

so who are the suggested replacements, i'd love afridi to come back but seems unlikely.

I think he is a good player and he has done really well for his team in past, but now he definitely needs a break atleast for one full series so that he can recompose himself and think about himself. I hope the break will really help him.

He's rubbish..no wonder the Indians want him in our side..must be his subserviant attitude towards them or his Internet antics remna Indians of their own fallible selves!!

The fact is he can't bowl, field or bat is mentally weak, has little class and to top it off is arrogant too!! mr professional needs to find new provession coz he veri veri professional!!

only our opponents fans will support him

Seriously this guy cant catch, cant bat and wont ball

Whats he there for??????????

ya totally agreed with this point . for god sake he should retire like iobrien he should learn from that guy

Full support for him to be DROPPED

iF ANY1 DESERVES IT HE DOES

I support Malik.....what everyone forgets is that during the year plus where we played no tests we did have plenty of 'A' Team tours and series, where the likes of Akmal and Fawad got plenty of opportunities to hone their skills. Malik and co had no such opportunities; all they had was Pak domestic cricket which we all have acknowledged does not prepare anyone for the rigours of test cricket.

Malik was not the best of captains....but he never lobbied for captaincy like most other have done in the past and still do. In the aftermath of his removal as captain when MoYo was very publicly having a go at Malik (amongst other) he maintained his silence leaving the issues where they belonged, out of the media spotlight.

I pledge my support for Malik...he is a fighter and a proven Limited Overs match winner. He has all the tools to succeed at test level. Although I do admit that at the moment he needs to be dropped from the test squad and he needs to go back to the domestic circuit (possibly an A tour or two) and pile on some runs

I support him when he performs but when his batting, fielding, body language, bowling etc. does not help the team in anyway...he must take a break or quit, specifically Tests!

His technique is so unsuited to tests that he gets out to a part timer like Elliot who was not even bowled in the last 3 innings and only had two wickets to his name from prior.

If Malik had any shame, he would quit tests for good or until he gets his technique corrected...but he is a typical Pak failed cricketer i.e. will not quit until and unless he is kicked out.

It is so bad seeing him get owned by every tome dick and harry in tests that I am willing to let Bhanja take over his place in the next test

don,t forget chingari toh malik sahib nahi hi lagai thi champions trophy ka baad in media that due to shuffling he failed he is shameless looser and i will support all who want shoaib malik to retire from test cricket . i know he is a good oneday batsman but not a class batsman

If you are a true Pakistani fan - one that wants to see Pakistan perform at their optimum level against all opposition, then you will have to accept that Malik is NOT a test cricketer.

He is NOT worthy of a No.6 slot in the batting line up.

He does NOT bowl - so he is clearly in the team a specialist batsman (who can field)

His technique is on a par with Devon Malcolm & Courtney Walsh as was seen in the resnt ODIs v NZ.

He is out of his depth at this level.

ya goood point man absolutely right

Malik is just going through a rough patch! Tell you what, inshallah he will come back with a century just like he did in the CT 2009 vs India, and lots of people talk garbage about him being a politician and causing trouble within the team and have no solid proof. He has with him experience, and although he might have played rubbish innings in the first two tests, its not like he has always played rubbish is it? Great players of the past have also sometimes underperformed but they came back great and shut up all critics. Who knows Malik could be like that too. And he has the potential to play great innings. People might say he aint test material, put he recently scored a century vs srilanka in the last test series. People are forgetting his good performance in the CT as well........not to mention he has quite good/one of the best figures in t20 cricket too. He may not be that great for tests but he aint as useless as some other source players, but he is one of the good ones in shorter formats!

he hasnt totally flopped but if he becomes useless which isnt at the moment totally then fawad or another player deserves his spot but:

MARK MY WORDS! MALIK WILL BOUNCE BACK SOON INSHALLAH! THIS TIME GREATER THAN BEFORE!!!

an average of 36 in Test cricket is not exactly disastrous...he, like many other players, needs to pick up his game, but to say he is not good enough for Test cricket is ridiculous...fielding errors are unacceptable at any level of cricket, let alone the 5 day game, and the whole team needs to get a stern hiding for their pitiful catching in this match

mailk just aint test material

The runs he gets are on flat subcontinent pitches, his techique is so poor to playing overseas

Inshallah we ve seen last of him in test cricket

true, not all good players are good captains

He is out of form and this current series is a good learning experience for Malik. I am sure he will utilize this experience in the next Aussie tour and will be the top run scorer. Bad patches always come in batsmen life, he is our future captain.

Madam ji yahan par test ki baat horahi hai .no body here criticize his t20 or odi career we are debating for test and we should forcefully tell him to leave test team please and gave the deserving player like fawad alam who average nearly 50 firstclass what he has done wrong or even sarfaraz ahmed the new keeper can bat good then him this flat pitch scorer what malik has done in domestic why he is in test i don't know check his stats madam we are not asking to drop him from odi or t20 so please accept that he is not test class

Please tell me that's not you. If malik gets picked for aus it will be biggest selection blunder ever. As for him being captain again ! Thanks but no thanks.

His inning of 3 runs on 22 balls and 29 minutes was the difference maker for the 2nd test match. His job was to make the wicket soft and create some holes for Danish Kaneria and this is why Dani was able to spin the ball better in 2nd inning and got 3 wickets.

Sometime in cricket, you have to look beyond numbers.

As Martin Crowe said perfectly
"There is small planet next to Pluto called Shoaib, and thats where he is at the moment"

Please stay there Malik and don't come back to Pakistan cricket for a while.

I support Malik to be dropped b/c of his pathetic batting technique, attitude of irresponsibility, dropped catches, not bowling and above all masterminding dirty politics in the team.

I still feel he was under performing to fail Yusuf

No support from my side, time to try some youngsters at the # 6 spot

in ODI/t20 he is ok(not great, just ok)

The guy needs time out of the game and go back to basics in domestic cricket as he seems to be doing nothing at all to contribute to the team either be that in batting, fielding or bowling (which probably the captain has no faith in). Can't afford to keep on playing him and not play guys like Sarfraz even if Kamran Akmal still insists to keep but we can play Sarfraz as a batsman or then bring Fawad back instead of Malik but lets just send Malik packing back to domestic cricket for sometime till he can sort himself out!

abdul razzak is better option than malik in australia series according to me ...if younus khan ignore the series then i will add razzak in the side to add experience in middle order and give us bowling option as well .

i am not against alam either....read my signature if you doubt this please. I admitted earlier he isnt the "classy test player" but he is better than other source rubbish.....malik isnt total rubbish either....if you remember he made a century infact a strong century vs sri lanka earlier, and in another test vs lanka when the entire pak lineup collapsed he was the only one fighting on with 30 something not out......malik has experience and isnt very bad.....should consider taking out butt and bringing in alam or something

Malik is a talented All-rounder. But since he lost captaincy it appears he may psychologically feel that he may have got a raw deal and reflected in his nonchalant performances. He has some great performances in the past that has either saved or won Pakistan. One can't discount that.

Like Younis khan, he is going through a batting crisis and fielding is not as sharp as one would have expected.

Pakstan is already underperforming as a team in batting and with contributions of 3 and 9 from a senior player like him it only adds misery to the team.

So the best thing for him would be took take a temporary rest. Do soul searching. Think and correct where and why he is getting things wrong and come back strongly.

Wish him the best.

2, 32, 9, 3 scores in the recent innings with the most dropped catches second to none other than Imran Farhat. Doesn't deserve his place in the squad for the Australian series.

time out of the game will help, he has been given enough chances and he is good enough to play test cricket

Pakistan cricket deserves better than this.

No
He is just not capable of performing. Full stop

Abdul razzak is better option than him for australia series and its right time to give him 2 to 3 month break before T-20 world cup in april .

I'm a supporter for his but he needs a few months away from international cricket. I really don't see how his selection for the Aussie series can be justified based on his recent. He's only 27 he can make a strong comeback after regaining some form. He's down but not out.

Absolutely spot on. I thought Grant Elliot finished his test career? Hell, he's done more than Malik in this series. He has 2 wickets and Malik has 2 dropped catches!!!

same , here ...let me down big time in the last test ..I think its more of a mental thing for him that technique/talent , but pak cant take a chance with him for the decider .

but whom do you replace him with ? fawad :pissed:

Anyone suggestion Razzaq as his replacement please look at Razzaqs test stats first before coming out with such rubbish.I will never know how he managed to play 49 test matches despite having less then 8 scores of more then fifty and averaging less then two wickets a match.Had enough of his free ride during Inzi era.

I think at the time when Pakistan cricket is in most need of selecting players based on merit, we have a management who probably thinks the complete opposite way.

Persistance with Misbah, Farhat and Malik OVER Iqbal, Fawad, and possibly Asim Kamal shows that the whole management including the coach, cheif selector and other executives are simply not fit for the job at hand.

Asim Kamal hasn't been selected in pakistani team for a long long time. In fact my question is why?

I fully Support Malik

On his exit from the team in all forms of the game for the time beeing till he sorts his batting, bowling and overall attitude towards the game in general.

it's not about bad patches. even befor this series whoever knows test cricket, every body said he's not test cricket material. if you dont belive me check his last 10 tests avg i bet it's not more then 20.

whatever will happen next but he is needed for next test if we dont play ajmal as a second spinner......

please don't go by last 10 test average, you will have to include more than half the team. Malik of course should not be included. I just feel he is not a team player.

i am very dissapointed in malik being his big fan i thought he would have done the logical thing and unselect himself for tests he himself knows that this is the worst period of form hes in and he shouldnt be anywhere near international cricket the longer he stays the more people will hate on him not that people dont hate him already coz they always do

every cricketer in their lives will go through a bad patch and to come out of it as a stronger person not just physically but mentally as well is a hard thing to do but it requires determination and alot of hard work, malik really needs this phainty right now and i hope he DOES come out of it one day Inshallah but for now please for the sake of pakistani cricket malik yar please go back and play domestic cricket and out do all your critics

i dont believe malik can become a good test player he just may end his test career as an average batsmen because he has shown a few knocks (yeh yeh i know in the subcontinent not outside but we cant entirely answer for his selection of less matches played in his test career) i dont know why malik doesnt concentrate on his bowling anymore, i know ajmal has made a remarkable input to the side and kaneria is in form too (hence the word in form - maybe he should learn a thing or two from kaneria as playing for essex and becoming leading wicket taker has improved his bowling alot you can tell)

one thing i dont get is whenever malik is mentioned why do some people get personal about it and mention the things that have happened with him which are not even related to cricket? what has that got to do with his cricket? sados need to get a life im sorry but i never ever put down a player just because ive heard negative things about him off field just angers me that some individuals take this opportunity to dish out dirty remarks on players when you probably dont even have the slightest clue what goes on in their lives

i will always support malik, fans always support their players through rough times (b4 people have a dig at me the amount of afridi fans on this forum outnumber any other fan base and they too know how it feels when he was badly out of form and how he bounced back into the team ) he will come out of his bad form too inshallah but for now malik please go work on your game otherwise your making it harder for yourself

Im fan of Malik but putting him in the decider would be suicidal given his form and espically his lethargic attitude not to mention his selection which is no short of shocking. He needs to be dropped for couple of series and clear his mind before he can be considered for selection again.

One of our best ODI and T20 batsman, though (atm) nowhere near a test batsman.

Go Malik!

unselect himself? he is hardly in a position to do that, and it certainly doesn't help his case...if he does get the chance in the 3rd Test and the Aus series, he absolutely must perform, for his career and Pakistan's sake...

as for why people get personal when they want to criticize him, that's easy to answer...people enjoy rubbing other people's personal problems in their face...an utterly pathetic and disgusting thing to do, but unfortunately we have some weak-minded individuals here who live for that kind of stuff

i am a huge supporter of malik as he is one of our better batsmen

however i will agree with the fact that he needs to be dropped for a series or two. this will allow him to re himself and perhaps score some runs in our feeble domestic set up.

this man will be vital to our success in the WC held on sub continent pitches.

Support is something he will always get once he comes out to bat for Pakistan. I might not like his selection in the team but I will always cheer for him to be successful because that means the team will be successful (or have a better chance).

I find him to be a good player but like others before me have said he is just out of his element these days. A bit of domestic cricket will help him and probably in England because our domestic cricket is not exactly good for out of form batsman as it creates a false sense of confidence in their mind.

I hope he comes out of it but as of now he needs to be dropped.

I support Malik's first-class phainti and an exit from the Pakistani cricket team for good.

I was a fan of Malik and defended his inclusion in the side on many occasions BUT he is woefully out of form - he simply needs to be dropped. I always felt that he was just a short term solution BUT he isnt even that anymore

Obviously if he is selected then i hope he performs as that can only be a good thing for Pakistan

He is fine for ODI's and should continue BUT a definate no. no for Test matches - lets start to give guys like Ghani, Amin etc an opportunity

Malik is a definite no for Tests and ODIs where fast bowling comes into play

Should it be a flat or spinning track in One Dayers I would consider playing him if someone else is out of form.

Nothing but a back up ODI player for me now.

ya thats why everybody call him flat track bully heheheh

He's been horribly out of form, and definitely should be out of the Test team.

But his place in ODIs and T20s is relatively safe. He needs to get back his confidence of the Woolmer era though.

most of our batsmen are flat track bullies. so just calling malik a flat track bully is double negative.

Dude, do you live on the same planet as the rest of us? There is more of a chance of Dick Chaney turning Muslim, then Malik being the top scorer in Australia against Australia.

After playing all these years at the highest level of Cricket, he still has the technique of an 8 year old, playing on the street. That just means one thing, he has no natural talent, and he is unable to learn. While they're at it, throw his dead beat buddy with very similar issues...Misbah out too.

He too will be an embarrassment to us in Australia, just like Malik. I still am amazed at these people supporting him after all the embarrassment he has caused us. As Martin Crowe said, calling Shoaib Malik a Club level cricketer would be an embarrassment to even Club Level cricketers.
