Should ACC be disbanded?

This Asia cup should have not happened under current circumstances.

Maybe ACC should postponed Asia cup for few years untill situation improves .

:kp

than how will u qulaify for olympics which is continental based? Making dumb threads

IMO Pakistan should pull out of ICC tournaments hosted by BCCI or India
Nah man, keep playing, they are bigger than us as cricket economy and a better side but still thought twice about pulling out.

We have good relations with other boards; we enjoy the game, so there is no need to let some sour moments spoil so much entertainment and enjoyment.

So far ICC has accepted a proviso of neutral matches for both countries, if that continues then its fine.

I am not saying Pakistanis are totally innocent but at least in this tournament India had a larger role in making a mockery of the tournament and the game.

First the handshake saga then provocative remarks througout by the players. Shastri not talking to Pakistani captain at the toss. And finally this drama at the end.

I understand the alleged issues that they have with Pakistan, what I dont understand is the selective protest and outrage, and hypocrisy. They did not have an issue with talking to Urooj Mumtaz conducting the ceremony in the first game and Indian commentators commenting side by side with Pakistanis yet there was an issue with talking to the Pakistan captain today at the toss and Waqar was specially brought in to do that. Naqvi was presenting as the ACC chairman not as the PCB chief or interior minister of Pakistan. But even if you consider him to be a part of the government why not shake hands with the Pakistani cricket team who have nothing to do with the Pakistani government or military. They are cricketers just like you. At the end of the day this was a game of cricket not war. It is supposed to bring people and nations together not force them apart.

The issue i have with this new found Indian hypernationalism is that most of it, at least as far as the Indian team is concerned, is Bollywoodish , performative and hypocritical. You don' t like us then why even play us. If you come in the ground then follow the spirit of cricket and the ideology of sportsmanship not politics and jingoism. Yet there seems to be such pressure on all Indians to kowtow to BJP ideology that each and every one of them has to go out of their way to prove their loyalty. This tournament was just sad. I did not expect much considering how people like Jay Shah and Gambhir are in positions of power in their setup but the rhetoric from the captain and other players was highly disappointing. After this tournament Suryakumar should join politics because at the moment he certainly looks more suited to a career there than in cricket.

Not to say that Pakistan have been totally innocent. Naqvi's drama in the second game and Haris' gestures were equally distasteful but those things followed the initial controversies.

As a Pakistani I am willing to admit that our government and institutions are not infallible and neither are we as individuals and what encourages me is that there are many people in Pakistan who think that way. Unfortunately, and I may be wrong, but my experience is that on the Indian side there is zero introspection and everything is being seen through a lens of hypernationalism and jingoism. There is no doubt that India is a rising country and Indians rightly have a lot to be proud of but imo what happened today certainly isn't one of those things because at the end the game of cricket lost just because some small men on both sides wanted to do political point scoring.

I sincerely hope sense prevails and things change for the better in the coming days because I see both countries inexorably drifting towards a future that none of us would ever want if our thoughts weren't colored by jingosim and our eyes blinded by hate. I hope its not too late already.

India gives his participation fee to the poor boards .so definitely its a lifeline for all struggling ones. I don't think stopping the tournament is a good idea.but next time a bit of diplomatic leaders are needed as acc leaders than clowns handing them.Just like acc decided not to host the tournament in india/pak, its better to have a non indo pak chairman all the time.

Irrelevant tournament. Only reason to watch it is to see Pakistan getting walloped again and again. I will have no issue if the whole Asia Cup is disbanded. We have won it a freaking 9 times already lol

Let the minnows play with each other.

Its not an irrelevant tournament. It let's other non full member participate and play against big boys and quite frankly, ind/pak are at fault for making it sour. If anything, host it without these two dumb boards being all political. It won't generate that much money, but it will generate some sort of money. BD v SL v AFG is entertaining enough.

They can play a series like pak did before asia cup.

Pak v uae v afghan type f they want to give associate teams the rub.

It is irrelevant as 90% of the matches are absolutely rubbish and useless with horrible scheduling.

Ind v oman, Ind v hk, nobody wants to watch this.

So when india was a no good team and when teams like Aus/Eng etc had to play them, what was the sentiment then? And no, Asia cup should stay Asia cup, because I am pretty sure apart from a Tri-Series, 4 or more teams can't be in a series unless i'ts an ICC tournament or something like Asia cup. If PAK/IND wants to do political battle, please proceed with the battle to the battle field and fight it out so rest of the world does not have to live with this nonsense on the cricket field.

But I agree with you on one thing, teams like Oman, KH, UAE brings nothing to the table for the locals cause the local nationals do not represent their team so in a sense you're not wrong. I wish they included teams like Nepal, Japan, etc where the locals actually has a foot in their team.
