Based on posts in this forum, this dude holds 2-3 other posts in governement. How is it allowed? Doing one job should be hard enough for a large country like Pakistan.
He is home minister of Pakistan yet holding a position of PCB chairman and ACC chairman as well. But sir don't mix the poltics with sport's :klopp :kp

Yeah the irony is not lost on me. And then flanked by former chairmen who were both installed there due to politics and also removed due to politics 😂.

ICC is spineless otherwise they should have banned PCB long long ago. PCB is last board to even talk about mixing poltics with sport's. :kp

Internally PCB are guilty of this. There is so much politics when it comes to appointing positions. But externally generally between nations they are fine. And most nations it usually takes something insane for nations to ban them from sport. Even Russia, they still let them participate except under a different flag.

I do get the Indian people’s grievances about Pakistan. And do realise some things are bigger than cricket.

But still when it comes to sport it’s about peace and coming together despite differences. Even it was my worst enemy or even if our countries were at full on war, I’d probably still shake their hand after I played sport with them. It’s just general etiquette when it comes to sport. Maybe you could argue it’s just tradition but that’s how it’s been. Can’t speak for Pakistan as I don’t live there but I was born in Uk and raised there and that’s generally how most people in UK feel.

In Ideal case scenario you're right but when comes to india - Pakistan there are much more things that matter above cricket and sportsmanship .

:kp

False pride and ego is causing most of the problems for Pakistan cricket.

Indian players should have shook hands imo but Naqvi's reaction is even weirder.
Spot on! Instead of focusing on cricket itself, improving our domestic structure and bringing some stability, Naqvi has chosen the route of endless chopping and changing, chasing cheap points with theatrics. Since the day he came in, he has been playing musical chairs with captains, coaches, and everything else related to Pakistan cricket.

Some fans here defend it under the name of “merit,” but deep down they know the reality: Gillespie and Gary were forced to resign within months, Shaheen was wrongly removed from T20I captaincy, and Babar should never have been reinstated in that manner. On top of that, players who openly took cheap shots at Babar and ruined the dressing room environment were brought back. He even supported a fixer like Amir, revived failed and recycled players, and talked about a “surgery” that till today makes no sense.

Meanwhile, our two best players were punished and replaced with failures, guys who haven’t proved themselves at either domestic or international level. Add to that the unnecessary posturing and silly fights with India, only to lose to them again and again. And yet, unbelievably, there are still people here blindly supporting Naqvi as if he’s some savior, when in reality he has been the worst of them all.

The one person he hasn’t touched is Aaqib Javed, who has failed as a coach, failed as a selector, failed in every role he’s taken in the PCB setup, yet keeps conveniently shifting from one position to another. That alone shows what a complete joke this management is and an even bigger joke are those who can’t see it and keep blindly cheering for every wrong decision being made.

Excellent post by Moshin Naqvi. A day after ICC bans USA cricket for political interference, as ACC chairman, interior minister of Pak and PCB head he tries this stunt. ICC will be licking its lips now 🤣

And before some guy just for the sake of it says Jay Shah- being son of a politician doesn’t really matter in technicalities. Won’t hold in any court. On the other hand, self-goal.

Get your 🍿 out, will be a fun ride the next couple of months lol.

What was the point of this tweet today though.. we were cruising at every point in the game, is Asia cup taking a loss, that he is trying to spice up and create viewers?
It is the desperation of not able to beat India either in war or in cricket field. So they have created a fake news of imaginary 6-0 in their head, like they have done with 'tea is fantastic' in the past and playing it to the gallery to save face. Their North Korean awaam and uneducated cricketers are also lapping onto it. Naqvi also tried Pycroft removal drama to save some face but that didnt work as well. So doubling down on this fake narrative.

Did you watch Ashwin's video? He said, You don't wrestle with a ***...they will bring you down at their level in the mud along with you.

India should never have played this tournament. Now that they do, just finish it on sunday and get back to business with more serious teams.

Here is another one from their defence minister

They should encourage all of this to get more views. It gets people talking.

Cricket is too sterile, they need to spice up the show.

But at the same time another part of me is thinking India thi ma thi Siri so I can't really criticise too much.

So?

Jay Shah is the head of ICC
And? Jay shah is not holding any political office. Moreover he bas been in cricket administration for a decade now. Just because his father is a politician he shouldn’t take up a position?

I have been saying for the last 1 year. Naqvi is getting the best for Pakistan both in cricket and politics given the constraints.
The posters on this forum can't simply digest this objective fact due to his party affiliation.

Jay Shah is one of the best administrators. Comparing him with Naqvi is a joke.
Rubbish

The Asia Cup has been a total shitshow in terms of behaviour towards players and umpires

He is the head of the ICC. Cricket is being played in the most pathetic, unsportsmanlike manner.

Why is Jay Shah sleeping???

India introduces politics not only to Asia Cup but the game of cricket yet they have lodged complaint to ICC when Pakistanis are responding to their antics , talk about bully playing victim in front of the head teacher, only this time the head teacher is bully's father so no surprise if its Pakistani players who would be fined.

Pak should take the fine proudly.

First Mohsin Naqvi led PCB blown the no-handshake saga out of proportion and then failed miserably to remove a match referee despite holding ACC presidency and then to add salt to wounds, ICC orders the same Andy Pycroft to supervise match between Pakistan and UAE. So what exactly does Mohsin Naqvi administration achieved from all this drama?

And besides epic failure to boycott Asia Cup, the Naqvi administration has turned PCB's warning into hollow threats. So with such an high level of incompetence and making PCT a laughing stock -does he still deserves to be the PCB chairman?
Yes. Fire him

Under the leadership of Naqvi, Pakistan has reached new lows in the field of cricket- massive humilation knocked out in the first round of the T20 world Cup, first round exit in CT2025 hosted by pcb and now another Asia Cup debacle. Until, how long he can survive?

I know he is a politician but is there any accountability. He is literally face of pakistan cricket at the moment, hogging every spotlight, putting pressure on his own players, a full grown uncle ego and taking pakistan cricket to new depth of disgrace.

Pakistan cricket has been a laughing stock for almost 2 years now- defeat after defeat and all the paksitan fans see is shameless smirk on Mohsin Naqvi like he is showing middle fingers to all people of pakistan cricket.

India is extending what the party in power and the party controlling the BCCI does freely in India. Using money and power to control every institution. And ICC is not spared with the Shah in power.

He is the Junta , Pakistan cricket might finish but Naqvi administration won't be sacked

Naqvi not only embarrassed himself but also embarrassed PCB in this fiasco, watch out if ICC committe bars him from attending annual meeting

I swear the previous chairman where so much better than this clown. Needs to be removed right away

Please retain Naqvi at the helm as long as possible. He is the true Lion with a proper spine, not afraid of confrontation.
We need that,

Naqvi looks a simple unsophisticated guy but he is a smart operator. He is one of the architects behind nuetralizing PTI and Pakistani American lobbying with the Trump administration for PTI and Imran Khan. He has been to official meetings at the White House and with the Arab monarchs. I will not underestimate what he is doing if he is confidently taking on the BCCI.

Just because he is not in Imran's corner, he is not getting the respect by Pakistani posters on this forum.
He has over-delivered with the limited resources he had in his role in Pakistani politics.

On a TV program, ex-Pakistan cricketer Mohammad Yousaf voiced his backing for Mohsin Naqvi regarding the Asia Cup final trophy controversy. Here is what he said:

"What Chairman Sir (Mohsin Naqvi) is doing is absolutely right. He has taken the correct stand. India should have taken the trophy at that moment. According to ACC and ICC rules, he was standing there as ACC chief, and the trophy should have been handed through his hands only."

"You didn't take it at that moment, so what's the hurry now? You should have gone and collected it from his office if you remembered that you had to take the trophy. At the ground, you were busy making your films. I said it that day too — they are not coming out of the filmy world."

"This is sports, this is cricket; movies won't be playing here. In movies, there are retakes and all, but becoming a hero in movies is a different thing. You are playing a genuine sport here, and now you are saying you want the trophy."
