Should BCCI and PCB pressurize ICC to go back to the one ball way?

Out of all the teams, I think India and Pakistan would be the most benefitted ones.

Old ball is good for spin. 2023 WC in India, and getting back to one ball, I can already see us in the finals.

Pakistan has been the only team I've seen reversing in recent times, even during this two ball era. They reversed ball even at the CT, which made them the most lethal attack. Yes, I've even seen Starc reversing sometimes, but.. who knows...#sandpaper.

ICC would surely bend if BCCI stands for it. Already Sachin and Kohli spoke for 1 ball. Even Waqar Younis has spoken for it. Whereas few Englishmen like Atherton, Bumble and Broad have spoken for it.

If we can somehow bring the one ball back, it would be really helpful.

Few bowlers affected by two balls. Ashwin, Jadeja, Wahab and Gul.

If ever there's an area where I want BCCI to actually use their influence its this.

Change the ball from Kookaburra to Dukes too.

A lot of teams still do get reverse swing in the last few overs. Not as frequently or as much as before but it’s still there.

But the one ball rule could pull down these ridiculously high totals a bit.

Yeah, but here I am talking about reversing after 35 -40 overs.

Is cricket a game between bat and ball, or bat and bat?

450-500 scores in ODIs is just ridiculous.

India has no incentive to do so, they're a batting powerhouse. It'll be PCB fighting a lone battle

India and Pakistan are not enough. You need 2/3rds of the full ICC members to support 1 new ball rule and only then it will go back to that. For that matter, BCCI have always been against 2 new balls.

All boards are muppets for BCCI.

We can easily get support of BAN / SL / ZIM / AFG / WI / IRE / NLD

That's 9 out of 13. Even English pundits have spoken for 1 ball.

Perhaps some posters on here didn't watch cricket in the 90s or early 2000s. For most of the matches in the subcontinent the ball would get so scuffed up after the 30-35th over that it would not do anything, remember reverse swing only happens when ONE side is alot more smoother than the other, it doesn't work when both sides are in bad shape. The ball would get discolored and would be hard to spot in day/night games. Also the ball would be so soft that full blooded shots barely managed to reach the boundary.

While I'm not a fan of two new balls, I do see why it was implemented in the first place and at the moment I do not see another alternative.

ICC needs to take initiative and revert bat sizes/weight to how they were in the 90s and standardize minimum boundary sizes.

Those people (Including you) really do not know how the Asian outfields were in those times and comparatively how good they are now a days specially in India where outfield is much much better quality and ball discoloration would be far less of an issue now (or in 2023) than it was in the era when cricket experts like like you were not following game.

Why don't they just use the daylight test cricket ball? Especially for the night games?

People, who are mentioning the white ball becomes discolored, changing the color maybe?

I don't know why the ICC can't seem to do this.

Lol India would love two new balls so they could outbat every other team on Indian pitches. Who knows how good the Indian middle order is by 2023. If it isn't, the last thing they would want coming into play is reverse swing.

It would be great to see. Going back to the one ball system works and it will definitely balance the game between bat and ball somewhat.

Yeah why not we can join hands with pcb and bully icc, so what if we cant play them
