Catherine Dalton, a proud prodigy of Ian pont and a great fast bowler. Recently is having a great coaching stint with Multan Sultans. Under his watch, we have seen great improvement in bowling of Mohammad Ali aka Daisy.

She is a current ECB Level 3 coach and has a 1st Class Honours Degree from St Mary's University College, London. She is also assistant coach at The Ultimate Pace Foundation that has hosted camps in Bangalore, Delhi, Gurgaon, Pune & Hyderabad.

Recently she was appointed as a Bowling Coach of the Rajasthan Cricket Association becoming the first female to have such an honour bestowed for men's cricket.

She is Assistant Head Coach of The National Fast Bowling Academy, which is based at Herts & Essex Cricket Centre, Sawbridgeworth.

On 18 October 2023 Multan Sultans appointed her as fast bowling coach for the PSL 2024.

So should PCB break away with the traditions and appoint a talented female like her as the coach of PCT or in your opinion it would be unwise to go for such a venture?

You’d have to be a clown if you were thinking of moving away from coaching a franchise cricket team just to work for PCB instead.

It would be like going from managing Nando’s to now working in Chicken Cottage.

It would be like flying a 747 to now becoming an instructor in those tiny ahh aircraft’s.

It would be like being the owner of a franchise and replacing Sharjeel with Masood.

Probably not a good idea.

Coaching a franchise team is not same as coaching an international team.

If Rizwan is captain, how will he conduct 1-1 meetings with his head coach?

Great idea, I think PCB should give it a try.

Under her coaching stint, Multan Sultans have qualified for the finals.

I can’t even imagine how much of a living hell it would be for her with all these shameless Pakistani journalists, who can’t even stomach male foreigners coaching Pakistan.

Head coach is probably too big a jump for her at this stage but bowling coach seems like a good fit.

Yeah no

Although Dalton has done a good job with MS, it is clear that she doesn’t understands the inherit politics within the PCT and as such her decisions will be influenced by outside forces specifically the Rizwan-Saya nexus

Don't underestimate Rizwan's influence.

One of the female coaches started fasting

This is why this guy shouldn't become captain. It will go to his head and he will do a Ahmed Shehzad with the Sri Lankan player.

He's a practicing Muslim and leads by example. Not sure about Shehzad (then)

Why would you appoint a "bowling coach" of a franchise as the "Head Coach" of an International team?

Wouldn’t mind seeing her coming in for the NZ series in an assistant capacity or consultant role given we’ll have a temp coaching staff.

Not head coach. She'd make it as a bowling coach but I don't trust our players and journalists to maintain composure and decency with a female coach always in front of them.

A captain like Rizwan would not tolerate any sort of indecency against a female. He's a gentleman first and has strong religious values which teach us to respect women. A practicing Muslim is not a threat

He won't be able to do anything against the boys gazing at her or not being able to be themselves and acting strangely. Particularly the uneducated fans and media journalists who start drooling over any foreign woman.

would be better to appoint her as Pak Women's coach. Why not hire competent people for Women Cricket and she would be a much better fit for them too? Although making a decision to work for PCB would put off most of the people.

I personally feel men's teams should have male coaches and women's teams should have female coaches.

Catherine can be a great coach for Pakistani women's team. Even head coach maybe.

Yes that is my opinion as well. Plus with her being only involved with the women's team (that definitely needs top tier coaching), it will be good for her mental security as well because the so called sports journalists and press will keep making sexist remarks on her with no relent. Such is the culture of Pakistan especially in certain industries.
