Should Misbah-ul-Haq have been appointed as Pakistan's Director of Cricket?

I think rather than just giving him the title of Head Coach, Chief Selector. He should have been given the Team Directors role similar to the position Andrew Strauss enjoyed. I am shocked this position has not been considered yet in PCB

I get the impression from watching the press conference that this job description probably suits his role a little better, from the way Wasim Khan was discussing his responsibilities. With the difference being that a Director is not usually also in a Head Coach role...

Misbah will have a lot of say in the Pakistan team's direction going forward and the primary objective will be to focus on Test cricket. He's also going to have a say in domestic cricket matters, A team etc.

I agree that is the direction cricket is moving. Even SA is now moving towards a Director of Cricket Team model. Where strategy and selection is in their hands and day to day coaching in the coaching staff. I think PCB didn’t want to go 100% in that direction and so decided to do a halfway in between move.

sure, after 3 years, when his coaching contract expires. Than instially after Director, PCB MD.

Than from that he will become Chairman
